I am on the east coast. A family member needed a car on the west coast. Used my local Delaware Toyota dealer to find the vehicle desired. Manhattan Beach Toyota had it and called me. We discussed the car the west coast. Used my local Delaware Toyota dealer to find the vehicle desired. Manhattan Beach Toyota had it and called me. We discussed the car desired and negotiated a price (market value by all Mid-Atlantic pricing). Deal struck. Car picked two days later. No muss/fuss or surprises. Vehicle delivered on time, clean and ready to go. The Manhattan Beach staff was courteous and did anything that was necessary. I would not hesitate to buy another vehicle from this dealership. Thank you. More
I visited this dealer to look at and drive a used Rav 4. The salesman was very nice and attentive, until the point where I made it clear that I was not ready to make a purchase right then. He then sent his finance manager over to push me even harder. The finance terms they offered were ridiculous, but it didn't even matter. The salesman walked away and had no intention of walking me out or even speaking to me again. I had to ASK for his business card and he reluctantly handed it to me while looking over my shoulder to help someone else. I realize that buying a car is traditionally a high-pressure experience, but this was a major turn-off. I really like the car, but won't be buying it here. More
Excellent salesmanship! I highly recommend John Elway’s Manhattan Beach Toyota!! I came to the dealership to purchase a new Toyota Prius and was greeted by Dennis Paz. I told him I was just researching an Manhattan Beach Toyota!! I came to the dealership to purchase a new Toyota Prius and was greeted by Dennis Paz. I told him I was just researching and starting my car-buying experience. He told me that was no problem and allowed me to drive the Prius. He answered all of my questions, and was very informative. At the end of the day he introduced me to his Manager, Brad Sperber. Both of them helped me and gave me true and honest numbers for the Prius and my trade. I went home and talked to my wife and we came to the conclusion that the Prius was the vehicle for us. I called Brad who helped me with a couple more questions and then had Dennis get the Prius ready, took some of my info over the phone so all paperwork was ready and waiting for both my wife and I to finish. This was truly and enjoyable car-buying experience and I really appreciate the honesty and integrity that I received from John Elway’s Manhattan Beach Toyota. More
I both purchased and serviced my Prius at this dealer. With 30k on the vehicle, there's been no serious trouble, but... When I purchased the car, I went with a letter from my Credit Union and told to see With 30k on the vehicle, there's been no serious trouble, but... When I purchased the car, I went with a letter from my Credit Union and told to see the fleet dealer. They would not let me talk to the fleet dealer. The salesman admitted he'd never been in a Prius and knew absolutely nothing about the car, not even how to turn it on. At the 15k service, they said I needed air conditioning ducts cleaned ($90) and cabin air filter replaced. I had just replaced the cabin air filter. They said they hadn't looked at the filter, but assumed it was needed based on mileage. I purchased the regular cabin air filters from their parts department and have since found the carbon loaded filters at another dealer for the same price! I purchased 7 years of bi-annual "solar shield" treatments for $700, figuring they'd save me the trouble of periodic hand waxing. On one occasion the car was returned minus the antenna. On another, the car was returned with a door ding, which I could not prove had happened in their shop. Then I starting looking more closely at the finish. On the next visit I looked closely before and after, and was convinced the treatment had not been done. I returned the car for a redo. I asked the service manager for details on how the "solar shield" was applied, what prep work was done, etc. He told me he didn't know. I suggested he find out. He did not respond and never gave me any information. Upon inspecting the redone solar shield, I noticed road tar and other contaminants underneath the finish. I'm became resigned to the idea that, if I do take the car in for any more solar shield treatments, I will have to clean the paint before hand. And now the final straw: the solar shield treatment is supposed to be every six months, but in order to make only one visit to the dealer I took the car in six weeks "late" to coincide with the 5K mile service. Now my car is due for service again but they tell me they won't do the solar shield treatment a day sooner than six months from the actual date of the last treatment. Well, I won't be going back to Manhattan Beach Toyota. More
Overall the experience was great. Everyone that I have dealt with in the service or parts department are always friendly and cracking jokes. I inherited my 1990 SR5 from my father when I turned 16 and it dealt with in the service or parts department are always friendly and cracking jokes. I inherited my 1990 SR5 from my father when I turned 16 and it has been serviced there since my father bought it. I remember a time when I had to bring my truck in for service there because my belts were making noise. The mechanic actually opened the hood right under the service bay with me standing next to him telling me, in words that I could understand, what he thought was wrong with my truck. They always call right on time and if I have to leave my truck there for longer than expected they offer me a ride home or a rental car. Plus they wash my car for me after my service! I know that I'll definitely be buying my next car there. More
I own 3 Toyotas and have them serviced previously independently (which was not a great experience) - I have worked on different cars since High School Auto shop, I know what to look for before and af independently (which was not a great experience) - I have worked on different cars since High School Auto shop, I know what to look for before and after service and have not found anything like I did with the mistakes like the Independent service providers. I traveled with my family over a week and did not think twice about the status of my vehicle. I trusted the competency of the staff of Manhattan Toyota completely. I was so busy trying to get work completed and neglected to take 2006 Tacoma in prior to leaving. I contacted the service dept. / John / and not only did he get me in but out within the time promised I was able to schedule other items on the to list for the trip. I did not feel the need to double check everything since purchase of 2006. We had a great no issues trip.I like the fact that I can contact someone and get answers - office / parts / service and be confident that they know what they are talking about. I will probably see you in 6 months or 5000 miles whichever comes first! Sincerely, Gary J. Poje / MB More
I have been bringing my Carolla to Manhattan since purchase. I have been very please with the way I have been treated. They explain what needs to be done and why. I even had them show me a part which purchase. I have been very please with the way I have been treated. They explain what needs to be done and why. I even had them show me a part which they couldn't believe they needed to be changed. Once, I drove into the service area when it was raining, the windshield wiper rubber broke off and after purchasing one in the parts department, John personally helped me instal a new for me on the spot. That is just one of the many great experiences I have had as a long term customer of Manhattan Toyota my first car being a 1985 Toyota Celica GTS. Gary J Poje More

After three hours of hell at DCH Toyota of Torrance, I took my business to Manhattan Beach Toyota and had an overall good experience. Nate was very patient and explained what was realistically possible an took my business to Manhattan Beach Toyota and had an overall good experience. Nate was very patient and explained what was realistically possible and what was not. Even though I still was not willing to pay over a certain amount, we were still able to negotiate in a respectful and cooperating manner. I will go back to purchase another Camry in a few weeks. More
Bought and service my vehicle. This place is totally deceptive and will do whatever it takes to unload inventory/make money. Their certified used vehicles don't hold value as promised and I seem to spen deceptive and will do whatever it takes to unload inventory/make money. Their certified used vehicles don't hold value as promised and I seem to spend more and more money everytime I go for scheduled maintenence. And conveniently it's always around tax-time (last year it was right after I got my stimulus refund). The kicker...I have the powertrain and bumper-to-bumper warranties, but nothing ever seems to be covered. I love my car and it's never given me trouble (kudos Toyota), but John Elway's Manhattan Beach Toyota and Scion is designed to gouge his customers and I am certain I can't trust the sales or service team. This is the exact situation I was trying to avoid by going here. Would I recommend this dealership: ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!! This is the last time I go there myself. More
