A few months back I took my car to MALLOY FORD for a recall and to fix my back up camera which was under warranty. When I got the car back they told me my brakes wouldn’t pass inspection and they coul recall and to fix my back up camera which was under warranty. When I got the car back they told me my brakes wouldn’t pass inspection and they could do them for $1600. I balked at that. They then said they could work on the two that needed it for $400 something each. I told them I would talk to my mechanic. I went to Charlottesville Tire & Auot. He just rolled his eyes and said I probably don’t need them and they offer a package deal for $400 something. Today I had my annual inspection. They said I only need front brake pads. So inspection, oil change and both brake pads cost $371. I never hear good stories at Malloy. Something to remember. More

Dealership stated that the purge solenoid needed replacing and they would order the part. Several weeks of no contact, we have to chase them down to get an answer as to when the part is in. Once it finally WAS in (a month later), we scheduled an appointment for 8:30 as we were told the work would take 3 hours for the replacement plus a state inspection. Bear in mind, the dealership claimed to have completed a multi-point inspection at the first visit, and listed every item as "passed." The day of our appointment, the work still isn't completed at 2PM, and we're informed that it will fail state inspection unless the windshield wipers are replaced and ALL FOUR brake pads and rotors are "resurfaced" to the tune of another $800. This after ANOTHER "multi-point inspection" in which those items are listed as "passed." Either neither of the multi-point inspections were completed, or the standards they set for passing are not actually road-worthy - or the work didn't need done at all, but they'd like another $800. Absolutely not, we'll take our money elsewhere, thanks. More
My friend from Tucson drove cross-country to Charlottesville in September. Her air conditioner broke and she insisted on going to Malloy Ford. She got an oil change and tire rotation as well a Charlottesville in September. Her air conditioner broke and she insisted on going to Malloy Ford. She got an oil change and tire rotation as well as an estimate to repair her AC. They charged her $285.00!!!!! MY mechanic charges $39.95 for an oil change and tire rotation. My friend was charged a $185.00 fee just for an estimate!!! Their estimate to repair the AC was $2,400+ and there is a 3% "processing fee" charged if she pays with a credit card! I am glad she waited to return to HER Ford dealer in Tucson. Tucson Ford repaired her AC for less than $1,000.00. MALLOY FORD IS A MAJOR RIP OFF. Avoid taking anything to them!!!! DON'T TRUST ANYONE AT MALLOY FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!! More

I called after being stranded by my parents' 2017 Ford Fusion and being forced to have the car towed there, as it was the closest Ford dealership. I received mediocre service that day. They couldn't be bothered to have anyone on staff to assist with getting a loaner or rental under my parents' Ford protection plan, but you can bet they had salesman there! Every question I asked, they didn't know. I literally had to call a different Ford dealership to get answers. I was concerned after that, but I had hoped the service department would be fine. Things only went downhill from there. The car was starting in the parking lot, but wouldn't shift out of park. It would immediately go back to park when trying to shift to drive. There was an error message stating "shift system fault" or something to that effect. When I looked that up both online and in the manual, it said to contact a Ford service center. It appeared that something was going on with the transmission or shifting electronics from what I read. I called my preferred dealership (not Malloy) and they agreed that given the message, it was something that wouldn't be able to be fixed in the parking lot, thus the tow truck. Monday rolled around and Malloy looked at the car. They advised that it was a simple fix: a new battery! I expressed my frustration that a tow truck had to be called for something like that, since I could have jumped the car and avoided all this headache. I expressed my disbelief multiple times that a battery caused the "shift system fault" error. Paul at Malloy insisted that it's common and they see it all the time, and assured me multiple times that it was the issue. I did additional research and found that this can happen, but it's actually rare, not common as he had stated. There's normally something else going on for that error message to appear, but there is a possibility that the low voltage did cause it. Since Paul was so confident that the issue was fixed with a new battery, I took my dad to the dealership to pay and pick the car up. The VERY next day, the same exact thing happened. My parents received the "shift system fault" error. They immediately called me, as they are elderly and I handle a lot of their affairs for them. They also needed me to leave work to come pick them up, since the car was messing up yet again. I immediately called Malloy to inform them that they were incorrect about the battery and to express my frustration that I tried to tell them I didn't believe it was the battery before. Paul didn't even apologize. He said "bring the car back." He didn't care that it wasn't fixed the first time, even after I called to have a conversation with him about why I didn't believe it was the battery. He didn't care that this would involve another tow truck bill. He never even apologized until I told him how livid I was that he couldn't even say sorry for this. Paul also started being petty and spiteful by saying that he won't talk to me because the car isn't in my name. Seriously? What kind of top secret car info is he planning to give out? This was AFTER he called my mother who told him to call me!!! How outrageous is that? I was also transferred to David, who I believe is the service manager. I left a voicemail for him explaining the situation this morning and asked him to call me back asap. I waited all day, but he couldn't be bothered to call me back. I did not have the car towed again to this dealership after all this, and I don't suggest that anyone buy from or use this dealership for service. If you have to use a Ford dealership for anything, Madison Ford is your best bet. Madison Ford didn't even have the car, and they went above and beyond to answer all of my questions about the car itself (the error message), the protection plan, and the logistics of getting it towed. The difference in the way I was treated when asking the exact same questions at these two dealerships was night and day. Avoid Malloy at all costs. More
Bought a used car a few months ago that was throwing up Check Engine lights. Brought it in to check out under warranty, they said they couldn't do it then but they set an appointment for the next week. Bro Check Engine lights. Brought it in to check out under warranty, they said they couldn't do it then but they set an appointment for the next week. Brought it in for my appointment only for them to say "well it's a hundred miles over warranty now, we can't do anything". It was absolutely below that when I made the appointment. I knew they were going to try to screw me and there it was. Avoid them at all costs. More
Malloy Ford has the worst service department I have ever seen. Good luck trying to someone. I have tried multiple times during the day to reach someone. On the few times I did manage to reach someone, th seen. Good luck trying to someone. I have tried multiple times during the day to reach someone. On the few times I did manage to reach someone, the response was the ONE person could schedule someone was not at their desk. On 31 May, went online to schedule an appointment, the next available appointment was the 23rd of June. Yes, nearly a month out. I went to Madison Ford, and got an appointment two days later. The service at Madison Ford is where it is at and what Malloy should be doing. Had I known the service at Malloy was so bad, I never would have gotten a vehicle from them. More
