On 06/13/20, I called Mike to schedule an appointment to see a Jeep Wrangler. I was told there was a lot of interest in the vehicle. I arrived 30 minutes early from out of town (45 minutes away) and was tol see a Jeep Wrangler. I was told there was a lot of interest in the vehicle. I arrived 30 minutes early from out of town (45 minutes away) and was told another couple was possibly buying the Jeep. After speaking with another sales man and telling him we were very interested in buying the Jeep, he told us to go grab lunch or hang out in the area and they would call us to tell us if that sale was finalized or not. After waiting an hour, I wanted to go back to make sure I hadn't missed something. When I arrived back at the dealership, I again called before entering the building (covid-19 stuff). A saleswoman told me to come in and that the Jeep was still available. When I walked in I saw Mike, the person I was supposed to meet with, chatting with another family. He stands up and says I tried calling you and I left you a voicemail. I check my phone and I had no missed calls and no voicemails. Mike says, they (the family he was speaking) want the vehicle. I tell Mike I didn't get a phone call or voice mail. Another sales person asks us to take a seat in the waiting area. We sit down and I check my phone again and now I had a voice mail showing but again NO missed calls. I received the voicemail approximately 7 minutes before I arrived back at the dealership and called. Mike comes over to my wife and I in the waiting area and stated he was sorry but he couldn't tell the other family no because they were Mexican and thought they would think they weren't getting the Jeep because they were Mexican. He could have easily explained to that family that my wife and I had already been there an hour earlier and expressed interest and were next in line, or even told me sorry but you weren't here and we didn't hear back fast enough... I would have been more understanding. But MIKE told me he was going to work with the other family because HE was afraid to tell them no because HE thought they would blame him for not doing business with them because they were Mexican.....I will never do business with them. You dealership has gone dow hill. I have been a customer for 20 plus years. The service department is rude and messy. You don't take of problem that we had with the car we purchased from day one. Refused to honor cash price on advertised car claimed as CPO Will never even look at a car at this dealership again. Brett is an out-right compulsive liar that tried to sell us a Dodge Dart that he claimed was a Will never even look at a car at this dealership again. Brett is an out-right compulsive liar that tried to sell us a Dodge Dart that he claimed was a Certified Pre-owned, but I have never seen such a trashy Certified Pre-owned vehicle in all of the cars that I shopped over the years. There were scratches, dents, and the front noes clip was a different shade than the rest of the car. The rear passenger side headliner was falling down and he could not even have the car ready, knowing for a week that we were coming to view and test drive it. While pointing these things out, that a Certified Pre-owned car should not have, Brett decided to pop off and tell us that we should then purchase new if we wanted perfection. We asked if the dents and scratches could be taken care of and all he offered was a bottle of touch-up paint. Then when it came down to negotiation, he came back with a range on the payment. We already were pre-approved by our finance company, so we did not need to use their financing. When I asked for the total out the door price of the car, Brett came back with an outrageous number that seemed well over the advertised price. We asked for an itemized pricing of the car, the dealer fees, and the taxes to show how they come up with that total and Brett refused. We asked for the itemized price several more times as he still refused to give it to us. Then he pushed the paper in our faces, pointed out the total, then informed us of the extremely high dealer fee of $499, where most others charge anywhere between $129 and $299, and then he rudely told us to do our own math on it to figure it out. We even give him an example of another dealership that Charges only $299 dealer fees and he tried to tell us that he was going out of business. Really, the dealer, who just bought 4 more dealerships and we said charges less is going out of business? One lie after another with this guy. After doing the math, we saw that he was trying to charge us full asking price of $11,168 on the car and not the advertised "Cash Price" as stated on their website as well as several others. The exact wording was that the $9500 price is a $1000 credit off of the "Cash Price" of the vehicle if you go through their financing. We were not going to use their financing, so we were expecting to pay the $10,500 plus tax and dealer fees for the vehicle. We told Brett that he was overcharging us and he started yelling that we did not qualify for the price. What? We did not "Qualify" for the "Cash Price" that they advertised on their own website, as well as many other sites? After Brett continually repeated this not qualifying argument, we decided to leave and go to Olathe Dodge, where they had another Certified Pre-owned Dart that we were interested in as well. Those guys there were the nicest people. They took off a substantial amount off their car, it was a higher model than the one that Brett tried to overcharge us on, and it had no scratches and they are taking out 3 dents that they found before we got there. They set us up with WF Dealer Services that Brett says no longer does auto loans with dealers anymore. And they ONLY charged us $299 in DEALER FEES. According to Brett, the must be going out of business too, huh. So as anyone reading this can see, I is pointless to buy a vehicle from Speedway because of how dishonest they actually are. I guess Brett did not expect a customer to do their homework before shopping for a vehicle. Oh, and as far as Ceritfied Pre-Owned, Olathe showed us the exact printout of the inspection and everything they did to bring the car back up to "like new" status as stated in the CPO brochure that Brett would only show us. And no, Brett refused to also show us this printout on the Speedway Dodge Dart we were trying to purchase. More
