Not able to fix airbag light (on) on my Dodge Ram 2500. I took my Dodge Ram 2500 truck to Dominion Dodge on the morning of September 27th for airbag system repair (light on) and inspection. It is now 2 w I took my Dodge Ram 2500 truck to Dominion Dodge on the morning of September 27th for airbag system repair (light on) and inspection. It is now 2 weeks later. After a few days, Dominion said the scanner code indicated: “output driver one passenger seat belt short to battery” They indicated this was a bad diagnostic control module: P 56043700AA I am uncertain how this was determined by the codes thrown. What about the seat belt code? The diagnostic module has been discontinued by Dodge, no longer available Dominion obtained and tried a used module – I was told they “could not program the VIN into the new-used module” and that the new-used module must also be bad. I was told by an outfit that resets airbag modules that the 2003 models did not require VIN programming. After I informed Dominion that VIN programming may not apply for 2003 models, service had no comment. October 10th: Dominion finally admitted they were wrong about the module needing VIN programming. This does not inspire confidence! About a day after being told the VIN did not require programming, Dominion informed me the new-used module was throwing the code: “mismatched calibration”. How the situation transformed from “unable to program the VIN” to the new error code remains a mystery. Dominion ordered a second used module - Still WAITING as of October 10th… Considering their history, my expectations are low. The dealer may be ok for a oil change, but apparently not for more complicated things. More
The Service Dept at Dominion of Bedford leaves a lot to be desired. We had new rotors & break pads put on the front of our van 3 months ago. Now we need the rotors turned & new brake pads for all four ti be desired. We had new rotors & break pads put on the front of our van 3 months ago. Now we need the rotors turned & new brake pads for all four tires. I have spoken with several mechanics. They all contend there is some problem. I have specifically asked the Service Mgr if they are investigating all possible causes. He told me we drove with the emergency brake on. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EVEN MOVE IF YOUR EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS WORKING PROPERLY. Ours is not. Even though the service dept was to have adjusted it. He told me we rode the brake the whole way down the mountain. HOW STUPID IS HE! This is not an 18 wheeler. It is a van! The brakes have continued to squeek since they were worked on. Further more, the van has been in 3 times for faulty side doors and they are both malfunctioning again! AND though there has been no recall, the bushings & links are being replaced AFTER WARRANTY on some vans because of premature wear. My van has been in at least 2 times since they have gone bad & the service dept NEVER fixed them. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZZARD. The service dept obviously does not care about the safety of me or my family! Also, I PAID for my tires to be rotated, but I don't think they ever got rotated! WOULD I RECOMMEND DOMINION OF BERDFORD? NOT ON MY LIFE THAT THEY HAVE NOT VALUED! More
