Over all, I still purchased a used Honda CRV from Luther Hopkins Honda, so it was good enough. But as a general statement, I made the purchase because they had the car that I wanted. The negative issues that I experienced were not show stoppers, but if I had a choice to take my business elsewhere, I would. My issues were as follows: Once I put money down on the vehicle that I wanted, I sent an email to my sales person asking for the VIN, exact final price, and the mileage, so that I could send that information to my insurance company. I did receive the VIN and the mileage, but with regards to the final price, the response that I received was that it was the end of the month, and they could not get that to me until I signed the contracts. This was just a minor problem. I wanted to add a couple of accessories to the vehicle before I received it. These accessories were cross rails on the roof of the car, and a 2" inch receiver for a bike rack that I already owned. It was only after the these items were installed that I was told that there was no 2" receiver for the Honda CRV, and that the only option was a 1.25" receiver. So I now have a $800 item installed on the car that I did not ask for. No one called me to ask if the substitution was OK. In addition, in order to make the bike rack work, I have to locate an adapter that will allow a 2" receiver. The bottom line is that I still took the car, but if I was given the choice prior to installation, I would not have installed this $800 accessory. I hope that I can still make this work. The sales person that I purchased this car from talked about getting me an adapter. As of this evaluation, he still has not contacted me about this situation. Finally, at the signing of contracts. The business manager asked me what other vehicles that I drove. I mentioned that I had a 2006 Audi A8. His negative reaction focused on his perceived poor reliability of this brand/model. I then mentioned that I also owned a 1999 Ford Expedition with 176K miles. Once again, he managed to come up with an unfavorable reaction to Ford and Ford products. While I am fully aware that his experience with Audi and Ford might not be positive, it is unfortunate that he feels the need to bring this up at my contract signing. One might think that if I have owned the same vehicle for 14 years and 176K miles, that my experience with that vehicle was probably positive....and it still is. While it was an expensive vehicle, my wife's Audi A8 is the best car I have ever owned, and that includes two Honda vehicles from the 1980's. The service that I have received from the local Audi dealership is the best I have ever experienced in over 30+ years of owning cars. If Luther Hopkins Honda comes even remotely close to Carousel Audi service, I will be thrilled. At the end of the day, even though this should be a positive experience of purchasing a new (used) vehicle, all I could think about driving away from Luther Hopkins Honda was my negative experience with their business manager and that I had an $800 accessory installed on my CRV that I did not ask for. In the final review, based on my experience at Luther Hopkins Honda, if some other dealer had this same vehicle for me to purchase, I would have purchased it at this other dealer. I would imagine that owners of Luther Hopkins Honda would agree that this is not the impression that you want your new customers to have. More

I went in for an oil change. They informed me I had an outstanding recall issue, and took care of that as well. The waiting area was clean, confortable, and had good snacks and coffee. Hopkins Honda service department has never disappointed me. They are friendly, answer my questions, and take the time to explain things. He also provided a written description and cost for the other service my car needed. My Civic is the first Honda I ever owned and the level of service I continue to received at Hopkins Honda will most likely keep me buying Hondas. More
Kara has been my service representative for the past several years. Every time I go in and see her she greets me with a smile and is always helpful with providing me options on my service. We have been taken care of by A.C. and Chai on most of our visits. They have always been courteous and knowledgeable. We appreciate your service team first and foremost but your facility is always clean and inviting, which makes our experience pleasant. Our appointments always run on time or quicker than promised. Secondly, we would like to tell you about our last visit to your dealership. It was this past Saturday and we are happy to let you know we now have two Honda vehicles in our driveway. Vern Pettis was our salesman on our 2010 Pilot a few years ago. Vern was recommended by our good friends. Vern did not disappoint us. We went in looking originally at the CR-V at the time but we decided the Pilot fit our needs better. Vern provided us with valuable information and answered all our questions. We had not intended to buy a vehicle that day. Vern’s excellent no pressure salesmanship along with his knowledge of the product he was selling provided us with all the information we needed and did not have to look any further. He handled our trade in (Toyota Prius) fairly without any haggling. Our other vehicle was a 2010 Toyota Highlander. We have always felt that the Toyota never lived up to the quality of our Honda Pilot. Furthermore the service and maintenance we experienced at Toyota also fell short of our experience at Hopkins. We Recently had costly service work done on our Toyota and again the service department fell short. My wife and I decided that now might be the time to visit Vern for a second time. We met Vern Saturday morning and explained our situation. He handled our needs professionally and completely. Our trade in was given fair value without any haggling. The paperwork side of the new car purchase was also handled smoothly. I believe Dan was the person who helped us move through the paperwork. He was well organized and knowledgeable. Vern spent the better part of the day with my wife and family. We test drove the CR-V and looked at options and colors of the vehicles on the lot. We decided on a Crystal Black AWD CR-V EX-L. Part of the sales experience that sets Hopkins apart is the time the salespeople spend delivering the vehicle. Vern was diligent in explaining all the details and features of our new Honda. He set up XM stations and helped my wife sink her phone with the car’s Bluetooth. He was continually wiping off stray water droplets that appeared or an occasional spot of wax left by the buffers. We were treated like you should be treated when making a large purchase such as a new car. Vern’s thoroughness and “curbside” manner are impeccable. Vern has a passion for what he sells and is the best we have ever encountered in the Twin Cities. From new VW’s to GMC’s and Chevy’s to Toyota’s we have a pretty broad experience with dealerships in the Twin Cities. They have all left us disappointed except Hopkins Honda. We see the same quality people at your dealership year after year which is a statement in itself to how you treat your employees. Your products have brought us back for our second Honda and we will recommend Honda vehicles and of course your dealership to our friends. We hope that this letter travels up the ranks at Luther.
