Service Center: Untruthful Don't stand behind their word My 2011 Sonata had an engine explode several months ago and the dealer replaced it under recall. I asked if they put new spark plugs in the motor as My 2011 Sonata had an engine explode several months ago and the dealer replaced it under recall. I asked if they put new spark plugs in the motor as it was compromised when the connecting rod shot out of the block. I was told that yes, new plugs are included with the new motor over the phone by the service representative. Fast forward to last Friday when a fuel injector went out and needed replaced. I was told I need to get new spark plugs. I told the representative no, you put new ones in several months ago with the new motor. The represented said no we did not. They referred me to the service manager. The service manager said she would put new ones in for $88 (so free labor). I said I need to talk to her supervisor or Hyundai because I was told new ones were put in. She said her supervisor cannot be contacted and that I need to call consumer affairs this is all they are going to do for me. I told her I will get new plugs somewhere else, don't care about the money, it is just that I was lied to and you are not even willing to make the situation right over $88. I also promised to leave feedback on the internet as I am doing now. I liked Luther and Hyundai until now, even after my engine failed on a busy interstate. I cannot believe you cannot talk to a service manager's supervisor or to Hyundai. I also cannot believe that Luther corporate does not have a phone number, I had to write a message on their website. My advise if you go here: Be cautious and get everything said by them in writing. Don't take anyone's word over the phone especially. Dave, who I worked with was nice and fair-he referred me to his manager, this is where the frustration occurred. Also watch their free many point inspections, they don't do them. I was told three weeks before this event on last Friday when I had a starter repaired that all my lights were inspected and are functional. I told Jamie, no they are not, I know this and I showed him that a fog light was out. Not a big deal, just another example of them not doing work that they say they did. More
