I’m writing this to express my disappointment and frustration with the service provided by Lucas Jeep Auto in Lumberton, New Jersey. In Fall 2018 I purchased a 2016 Jeep Renegade Limited from the dea frustration with the service provided by Lucas Jeep Auto in Lumberton, New Jersey. In Fall 2018 I purchased a 2016 Jeep Renegade Limited from the dealership. I had a great express with the Sales Team and expressed this to many of my family members, friends, and colleagues and encouraged them to go to Lucas well. The only issue was that there were no indicator noises. The Salesperson told me that this could be adjusted in the Uconnect System and I can find instructions in the manual. When I went home, I found out that this was not true and an additional part was needed. I understand that the Salesperson was new and could not know everything. When I called Lucas, they told me that they would cover the cost of the part due to the error and would call me when the part came in to set up an appointment to install. I never got a phone call to set up an appointment so I just got used to the lack of noise. In Spring 2020 I had an issue with my radiator fan that was covered under a recall. I made an appointment at Lucas and dropped off my Jeep and asked if they happened to have the indicator noise part. The Service Team said they do not have the part but can get it in so I asked that they order the part. The service took several hours and when I picked up the keys, I asked the person sitting at the Service Office if he could tell me where my Jeep was because I did not see it when I came inside. His reply was, “Go outside, hit the Panic Button, and walk to your car.” He said this smugly and the other people at the desk laughed. This was an inappropriate way to speak to a person, let alone a customer. Lucas left a message a couple weeks after saying the part had come in but it slipped my mind until they called again, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 and asked if I was still interested in getting the part installed. I then set up an appointment for Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 9:30 AM. The person said the work should take about two to three hours. On the morning on July 23 at around 9:00 AM, I called because I wanted to make sure that Lucas was still covering the repair as I realized I hadn’t spoken to someone about the cost in a while and I did not want to drive 40 minutes to find out it was an issue. The person I spoke with directed my call to the Service Team twice with no answer. I then explained the situation to that person and they informed me that someone from the Service Team would call me back immediately. I then waited over 40 minutes with no return call so I called back and the person then transferred me to the Service Team where I spoke to Mike. I explained the situation to Mike who informed me that the charge would be covered. I told Mike I’d be there in 40 minutes. I then dropped my Jeep off at around 10:20 AM. When I dropped it off I received a text from Lucas at 10:24 AM saying that if I needed anything during the visit, to reply to that text. At 12:42 PM I texted back and asked if there was an estimated time of completion for the Jeep so I could leave my house that is 40 minutes away and arrive on time. There was no response to the text. My boyfriend than called later in the afternoon and they said the Jeep would be ready within the hour so we left to pick it up. When I picked up the Jeep, again, no direction on where to find it, I just wondered the parking lot. When I got into the Jeep, I noticed that it was in Italian. I wondered why the Service Team would not notice this issue and fix the setting but I figured it was just a setting so I drove home. When I got home, I went to YouTube and found videos on how to the change the language, none of which worked. I then called Lucas and asked for Mike’s assistance. Mike then also looked on YouTube and found the same video that I had already tried. I tried it again with no luck. Mike then told me if I brought it back, he would take a look. I told Mike that I had just driven 40 minutes home and he told me to go to another dealership and they will fix the issue. I then went to the Vineland Jeep Dealership and arrived at around 4:45 PM. The Service Team immediately looked at my Jeep and instantaneously knew what was wrong. My odometer was flashing meaning that the part was not installed properly. They said that it would cost me over one hundred dollar for them to fix the part and that I need to take it back to Lucas. The Vineland Service Team also asked where I had gotten the service done as it was shifty work. I then called Lucas at 4:49 PM and explained the issue. I also explained that I was frustrated as I’ve spent basically the entire day driving around for an issue that could have been fixed with some attention to detail and that I’d have to take another day off of work because of the error. The person stated that they’ll fit me in the following day. Never did they say sorry or speak any concern or care. On Friday, July 24, 2020 I arrived at Lucas a few minutes after 8:00 AM. Mike then (hopefully) fixed the issue. Never during the visit did he say sorry or acknowledge their error or the extra mileage, time, or patience. In just a few interactions, Lucas has lost a customer. I genuinely regret telling others in my life to go to Lucas as I can no longer ensure the work has been done properly or most importantly, that they’ll be treated with respect. Mistakes happen, I understand that, but to treat people with no respect is unforgivable. More
