Curtis Lubbers 2016 was a really challenging year for me financially. There were a few things that I just couldn't recover from. I've been divorced for 11 yrs and so 2016 was a really challenging year for me financially. There were a few things that I just couldn't recover from. I've been divorced for 11 yrs and somehow always managed to get by but things finally caught up with me. I ended up filling bankruptcy and lost my car in the process which I worked hard for and had nothing. I called around and kept getting told "no", you have to wait at least 6 months to buy something. My son in law told me to try Lubbers to begin with but after all the "no's" I just didn't want to hear that anymore. Something made me call on a Saturday afternoon and I got Curtis Lubbers. I explained to him about my situation and he assured me that they would help me get into a car. He told me to hang tight and he would call me back. When he did call back, he said he got me qualified for a car. He said it may not be the one you want but it will be something dependable and safe. Now....I've always been a Honda girl but beggars can't be choosers right? He told me to come out and we'll figure it out. My daughter drove me right there, he said lets go look at the lot and see what we have. I told him I'm partial to a small SUV and the color white. His response was, " when I got ahold of the lender, I gave him this 2012 Ford Escape (because we have to give the lender something to work with) and it's white. We drove through the lot and couldn't find it because he said they had just bought it and he didn't think they had it yet. As we were heading back up to the building, I looked up and said " what is that", pointing at this beautiful little SUV. Curtis said "huh, that might be it. Let me check the ID number of it". Sure enough, it was the one he had sent in for approval. We pulled up to it and it was the nicest little SUV. I couldn't even have imagined getting one that nice but I did. ( I believe it was divine intervention)Now ,Curtis had to do some work to help me but he was determined. He didn't know me from Eve, but he didn't stop until I drove off the lot in my new little car. All he had was my word and my promise that I would hold up to my end of the bargain. I told him as I drove away that night that I would not let him down and that is exactly what I won't do is let him down. I gave him my word and even in this day and time, that still means something to me and it meant something to Curtis too. And... I thought I was going to miss my white Honda CRV, but I love this little Escort. FORD.....who knew?😊 Thank you Curtis Lubbers from the bottom of my heart.?? Susie More
