Louie Herron Rip Off Review [Research Title] Summary: (do your research on this dealership) -- This dealership never honored the "Trueprice" of the vehicle -- Provided less than honest "soft c Summary: (do your research on this dealership) -- This dealership never honored the "Trueprice" of the vehicle -- Provided less than honest "soft credit" pull information (resulting in a drop in 11 points in credit) -- Vehicle malfunctioned 5 hours into driving (**currently fixed) -- Upon notification and honest google review. The dealership manipulated reviews to delegitimize an honest one. "sales associates" and friends there of posted reviews as customers (conflict of interest). -- Sales associate (wrona) hung up on Chrysler representative who called to discuss my contract HONEST REVIEW: As a military veteran, I still feel a sense of duty to inform you of my experience with Louie Herron. Louie claims to conduct honest and fair business practice, and will carelessly throw words like loyalty and respect around. I find it interesting that Mr. Herron promotes Christian faith and a motivational book detailing the hardships he's experienced. It's interesting considering the lack of consideration given to fair and honest business practice. "What's wrong with being honest?" So, I will honestly and respectfully detail my buying experience so that you are armed with knowledge, provided you step foot through Louie's doors. ANALYSIS: I did my research and utilized USAA to find a vehicle that was vetted, to circumvent dealerships looking to take advantage of customers. I saw, what I considered, a great True Price (24K) for the jeep I was interested in purchasing. So much of a deal I flew from Maryland to test drive and purchase the vehicle. Armed with a 27K check, I walked through the doors of Louie Herron. The jeep was ready to go, clean, and appeared in good condition. The service from the sales rep was respectful. But, once the test drive was concluded the court jester in that of Mr. Wrona started down a deceitful path. Through my mention of USAA, he recognized that I was military and began to pitch the loyalty, respect, and integrity speech and ensured me of a deal. I explained that I wasn't looking one, just wanted to purchase the vehicle for the price listed. Mr. Wrona started down the wrong path and started lying to my face from the beginning of our conversation. He asked me what I was expecting to pay for the Jeep. I thought this was odd considering the price listed on the vehicle and the True Price identified by USAA. I explained that came down to purchase the jeep listed for 24K. He came back saying, "all I can do is 26K." I then said if this includes tags, taxes, and registration fee I would agree to his asking price. He walked away and then came back to ask about my loan amount and the APR offered by USAA. Mistake 1; I agreed to allow Mr. Wrona to conduct what he called a soft credit check to shop for a lower monthly payment. (This soft credit report would eventually reveal 11 credit pulls in one day). Mistake 2; the sales associate returned and said that not only were they (Louie Herron) able to reduce the APR and monthly payments, they included a bumper to bumper warranty for the price of 26K. This was the selling point that convinced me to accept the loan offered by Louie Herron. The Jeep: I noticed the feature (navigation) detailed in the vehicle description was inoperable, and according to the service documentation was mentioned by the previous owner as inoperable. I was told the issue would be fixed upon my return the next day. After 3 hours of waiting, I was told the cable for updating the navigation was broken and they would be able to provide the navigation maps. My drive; upon driving 10 hours back to Maryland, I began to notice odd occurrences (5 hours) in that the speedometer would fluctuate from zero to sixty mph (attached), the check engine, battery and traction indicators came on. After calling Mr. Herron, explaining my frustration with the sales rep, and my intention to return the vehicle. He stopped loan and said, "either someone ripped you off or made a mistake." I selected an experience Jeep auto service, who assessed the Jeep and fixed the issue. Finally, thinking the worst was behind me and that I could enjoy the jeep I purchased. I received a notification on my credit report of a new 31K debt (not including interest). Car dealerships have a negative connotation for a reason. The dissonance that exists between a horrible experience and a great one is justified. As an owner, to error on the side of ignorance isn't a fair stance when your name is on the building. What I don't understand, is why? Why not be a dealership maintains its integrity. More
