While the service department had my car, it was in a minor accident (apparently back into another car). I Conley understand that accidents happen! The dealership completely deposited the damage, no worries there. However they failed to communicate with me about this event in even the most basic way. They never explained exactly what damage had been done or what was done to repair it. They failed to provide me with an estimate of how the long the repair would take. They had my car for 2 weeks. They never offered me a loner car. In fact, when I called (about every other day) to enquire about how long I might expect to be without my car (which is my daily driver, I was repeatedly told that they didn't have that information and that "they would get back to me," but they never did. They always made it sound like it might be ready in the next couple of days, but a few days turned into a couple of weeks. Once the repair was done, I was informed that the work that I had originally brought the car in for had not been done because the car had been at the collision center. Then they told me that the couldn't reproduce the sound of the belt squealing, so they couldn't diagnose the problem (per the liaison), until I actually got a chance to talk with the mechanic and he said that, ok, he could check it out. Then he fixed it. I was also told at one point during this whole thing that my car was in such poor shape that "they really didn't even want to work on it." This was after they gave me a laundry list of repairs totalling over $12,000, including 4 new tires, oil change, cabin air filter replacement, replacement if the license plate bulb, etc... Well once I finally got my car back, I brought it to my usual mechanic who did replace a ball joint and weld and repair the subframe, which had rusted. I might have considered having some of the suggested work done at the dealership, even though the repair quote was pretty high, but it was off-setting to have one of their representatives tell me I needed a new car, because the resale value of my old car was very low, and they really didn't think it was worth it to work on it at all. They completely underestimated the love I have for my faithful Subaru!!! More
Whether purchasing or servicing a vehicle, Long Subaru is top notch. We have bought 3 vehicles from them and have always used their service department, and it has always been a great experience. Just had my 2nd service with 11,000 on my baby girl. First Subaru was an Impreza New 2008. Dealership is great, service department is great and my salesman was awesome. More
