Lube, Oil, Filter & Tire Rotation Service I live in Livermore and have been going to Livermore Toyota for all my services for the past few years. I've always had a great experience until this I live in Livermore and have been going to Livermore Toyota for all my services for the past few years. I've always had a great experience until this one. I brought my 2014 Prius Plug-In there for a lube, oil, filter and tire rotation service. While my car was being serviced, I had walked to the local Starbucks. While at Starbucks, I received a call from the service department saying my air filter and cabin filter needed to be changed. I told him that's impossible because my car was there for service less than 5000 miles ago and they had recommended I change those filters. I declined to change them and on that day I purchased new filters from Livermore Toyota service department and replaced them when I arrived home. When comparing my old ones to the new ones, they weren't bad at all, but I went ahead and changed them anyways. I had asked the service advisor on the phone: "How can my filters be dirty in less than 5000 miles?" He said it was probably an old reference left in the computer. I was under the impression those items are inspected every time under the maintenance service. I was also informed my low-beam light bulb needed to be replaced. I never noticed it was out, but told them to go head and replace it. When I arrived to pick up my car, I turned the lights on and one bulb wasn't working, so I notified the service advisor. He came out and said they must have not plugged it back in. He reached in and re-plugged it. So my questions is? Was the bulb really dead and did it need replacement and/or was it even replaced? If it were replaced, wouldn't it get inspected to make sure it was working before returning the car back to me? After expressing my disappointment about this service, Rick said he would make it right and offered me a free service on m y next visit. More

Very disappointing We took the Highlander we purchased used in August from Livermore Toyota for its first service this past weekend to Dublin Toyota. Everything checked We took the Highlander we purchased used in August from Livermore Toyota for its first service this past weekend to Dublin Toyota. Everything checked out fine except for the tires. We were told by Dublin's service department that one tire was at 3/32" tread depth and needs to be replaced immediately. Two of the other tires are at 4/32" and 5/32", respectively, and we were advised to replace those soon. The fourth tire was almost new at 8/32" tread depth. When we bought the Highlander in August, I asked Julianne's assistant who was helping us with our test drive if the tires were new, and he said yes. I looked at one of the tires to confirm, and sure enough, it looked new. In retrospect, I should have looked closely at the other three tires, because now, it's obvious they weren't new. When I called Livermore Toyota to complain and ask for 3 new tires, I was told by Gus Aguilar, a sales manager, that Dublin Toyota was probably just trying to upsell me new tires that I don't need (that's not a nice thing for one Toyota dealership to suggest about another Toyota dealership). I told Gus that Julianne's assistant told me that the Highlander had all new tires when we bought it in August, and I asked if he could check with him. Gus said that Julianne's assistant was fired and no longer works there, and, as a matter of fact, Julianne doesn't work there anymore either (she now works at Dublin Toyota). As it stands now, Gus said I can bring the Highlander back in to Livermore Toyota and they'll give me an "employee discount" on three replacement tires. Not the solution I was hoping for, but it seems there's not much I can do, so I decided to move forward. However, when I called the service department to schedule an appointment and try to find out what my cost will be, I was told that the markup on tires is very small, and the employee discount probably won't be very much. I was quoted a price of over $800 to replace the worn tires, but I should come in to confirm what my discount will be. Needless to say, I am NOT happy with how this is going. I was told that the used car I paid close to $40k for had new tires when I bought it, and now I'm faced with the prospect of having to pay another $800 (only 3 months and about 3,000 miles later) and waste my time and gas driving out of my way to make this happen. I warn anyone who chooses to buy a vehicle from Livermore Toyota, make sure you get everything in writing, and don't accept what they tell you at face value -- Check things out for yourself and make sure they're telling you the truth. Better yet, go somewhere else to purchase your car. Followup on 11/15/18: I took the Highlander in to Livermore Toyota today, asked about the "employee discount" on tires, and was informed that since they were having a tire sale, it would be more expensive to use the employee discount price compared to using the sale price. In other words, Gus lied to me, apparently to get me off his back. After reading another negative Yelp review about this dealership, I see that the fake "employee discount" is not unique to my experience. I've just exchanged a couple of emails with Gus, and he claims that he checked with Julianne's assistant (yes, the one he said was fired and no longer works there), and he said he never told me the tires were new when I bought the (certified used) car. In other words, Gus is calling ME a liar, and is choosing to believe the guy who was fired over a guy who paid $40k for a Highlander. Gus then told me that I'm just having buyer's remorse, and proceeded to explain that when you buy a used car, there are things that are not new about it, and that's why you get a lower price on it compared to a new car. No kidding?! Needless to say, I understand what a used car is, and don't need a condescending sales person to explain this to me. My issue is not that I bought a used car. My issue is that I was told that the car had new tires on it when I bought it. And Gus and Livermore Toyota have been unwilling to do anything at all to make me happy. Instead, I am being insulted by Gus. I will NEVER do business with this dealership again. Follow up on 11/19/2018: I left a message at the phone number of the "customer loyalty" specialist who responded to this review last week. I have not received a callback yet. I wonder if I ever will... Followup on 11/28/2018: Still have not heard back from a customer loyalty specialist. This just reaffirms my decision to never do business with Livermore Toyota ever again.
