Helpful even 2 mos after purchase Dionte McFadden sold me my lightly used 2018 XC90. I shopped around for 6 weeks and wasn’t sold on Volvo. But 2months since purchase, I love my car and couldn’t be more relieved that I have Lindsay Volvo service and support. They replaced a recall part and squeezed me in for a new tire when I hit a DC sewer curb. I considered CarMax and other dealers and even new cars but Lindsay Volvo pre-owned was price competitive (a few hundred dollars higher for comparable cars) — and Dionte was responsive, polite, and not pushy (a rarity). Also, the service dept since purchase has been accommodating and attentive. I highly recommend Lindsay Volvo! More

Donald walked us through the inventory of XC60's and found the vehicle we wanted. With great patience he worked through pricing for both our new car and our trade-in which lead to our purchase. Extremely unpleasant experience We left our car for service and informed the employee that we left it with that the “service indicator light was on” . The dealership performed a 50K We left our car for service and informed the employee that we left it with that the “service indicator light was on” . The dealership performed a 50K service on the car and tried to charge us over $200 for it despite the fact that they (I.e. that very dealership) had performed that exact service on it previously. When I picked it up and pointed out that they had previously done the 50k service and that it had been covered under warranty they said we had to pay bc warranty only covered 5 major services and the last one was the 50k service they had initially performed on it. When I pointed out that I wasn’t paying for a service that they had already done they said that it had needed service anyway bc it had been awhile and that the 50k service wasn’t much different than an oil change (a $200+ oil change?). I asked for the manager and talked to Paul Portu. He was condescending, unprofessional and unhelpful. I asked multiple times for him to give me the price of a regular service vs a 50k service and asked for a break down of the total price and they never provided it. I walked out of Paul Portus office with the paperwork to go pay and just be done with it and he yelled after me that the papers were his property. The original service consultant Craig agreed to take $40 off as he realized eventually that the 50k had previously been performed. He adjusted the paperwork to reflect an oil change and basic service but I was still over charged...and misled. Never once did they acknowledge that it was wrong to be charging me a second time for a service that they had already done. I have been an attorney for 25 years and have seen a lot of dishonest business practices and unprofessional behavior but this took the cake. I was in workout clothes and it was clear they believed I was a dumb female that they could take advantage of and I wouldn’t know any better. I would think twice before visiting this service department if I was you. They were given multiple chances to admit the mistake and never did. My husband called me during the encounter and ended up hearing the entire thing as I apparently never hung up from my call with him - he was appalled and furious. In my 50 years I have never experienced anything like this with a Service department. Extremely unfortunate as they are the closest Volvo service department to our house. Steer clear- particularly from Paul. Craig was trying to be helpful but with a boss like Paul I am sure his hands were somewhat tied. Horrific experience. More
