Service department did its best to discourage us from bringing our Atlas to fix a water leak from sunroof citing if they found dirt being the problem, they would charge us $300. We were scared to do brin bringing our Atlas to fix a water leak from sunroof citing if they found dirt being the problem, they would charge us $300. We were scared to do bring it… We had to take our vehicle to Catonsville, MD VW dealership. They never "intimated us" and they did for free because it was still under manufacture’s warranty. This is cheating customers who paid in full upfront for service agreement. More
Highly dissatisfied and disappointed with Lindsay Service (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Beth (Sterling, VA) as well as Ourisman Service Center(Bethesda, MD). Service Maintenance package is TOTAL SHAM. I bought 2019 Jetta from Ourisman Bethesda with external paint protection in Jan 2019 and Dec 2019 bought 8 years maintenance plan for a hefty price from the same dealer. I was told, you have paid for 8 maintenance services and external paint protection. I got my first years maintenance done at Stohlsman near my work place on Feb 14th, 2020 @12k mileage with VA Safety inspection. Experience was super smooth and helpful. I asked them about getting the car polished, they could not see anything on my account wrt Paint protection I bought along with the car. I thought that must have been glitch in the system. After the first service I hardly drove the car and procrastinated 2 year/20k Service little longer, mainly because of pandemic, low mileage (15.8K miles), work schedule and need to align with my wife's availability for pickup and drop off. Finally on 4/22 upon receiving a mail with option to schedule online, my stars aligned and I scheduled the service with Lindsay on 4/30 requesting a. VA Safety Inspection, b. Recall work and c. 20k maintenance Service. After going there to drop the car off, Lindsay service rep gave me a shocker that the 20k service has expired and cannot use it. Its been 14 months since the last service and I have to pay from the pocket, though it was fully paid years in advance. I declined the service and asked him to do inspection and recall work. Just when I was leaving, Service advisor came and told me that, car will be ready on Saturday 5/1. I said, that's fine, just perform inspection also tomorrow so that I get May sticker as opposed to April Sticker. Next day, I called Ourisman Service center, explained service rep in detail what happened to 20k service. He was first apologetic, said you can bring the car here 50 miles away in MD and can perform 20k service but obviously cannot do VA Safety inspection. He kept on saying, you bought it but did not consume it, whatever that means. I requested him to talk to Lindsay or someone in VW, after some more discussion, he put me on hold for 40 minutes with no response. I had other activities lined up, so I thought I will take it up later and instead decided to get the car back from Lindsay. On Saturday, I did not get a call as previously promised, then I started following up late Saturday night. After 2-3 texts, Monday 2pm, got the response that car is ready for pickup. When I picked up the car at 4pm, I noticed: - VA Safety Inspection was done on Friday with April sticker, though I requested to be done next day. - Invoice said, "Drive through Car wash" was performed. I saw car covered with layer of green pollens, no car wash was done. I saw other cars freshly washed but not my car. - Recall work was performed. - 20K service was not performed but under parts section 20k service was marked completed. This was a pathetic service. I feel Maintenance package is total RIP-OFF. Despite paying in advance, VW refuses to perform the service. Dealers are not responsive and seemed least bothered. I am very frustrated with the overall experience and attitude shown towards me, to the extent that I don't want to continue with VW, want my money back for the packages I bought. I would like to return the car as well, provided I get my hard earned money back. Hope someone from VW is listening. - Nadeem P. More
Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, I dropped my 2017 VW certified pre-owned GTI off at Lindsay Volkswagen for a 27 Oct 2020 a Review of Lindsay Volkswagen Service. On 26 Oct 2020, I dropped my 2017 VW certified pre-owned GTI off at Lindsay Volkswagen for a 27 Oct 2020 appointment. The issue was water leaking onto the drivers floormat when parked in the rain. From all the website blogs it appears to be a common problem where the sunroof drain tubes are clogged. I took the car to the dealership vice my normal mechanic because the blogs said the problem was so common there may be a Technical Service Bulletin. After calling a couple hours after my appointment time the service advisor, I won’t use his name, checked and said my 2017 certified VW had rust on the frame of the sunroof and it would cost $3500. I explained this is a common problem, on the internet, and if a 2017 sunroof has enough rust for the sunroof to leak it is a manufacturers defect and the part should be replaced for free. No agreement from my Service Advisor. I picked the car up the next day for $149.95 and the technician was not in to speak to and the advisor was still no help. I took the car from the dealership to my mechanic who fixed the clog in less than an hour, said it’s very common, and fixed my seatbelt which had been twisted inside the pillar, I assume during the Lindsay VW inspection. I called the original VW Service Advisor at 12:05 and said I’d like to speak to a Manager. He said they were at lunch. I called back at 3:40 and left a message that I would like to speak to a Manager. A Manager, I won’t use his name, called at 7PM and was helpful and knowledgeable. He said he knew the leak was a common problem and it would be odd for rust. He asked me to come in the next day and refunded me the $149.95. I did not mention the seat belt twist. I received two generic robo texts asking how the service was on 29 and 31 Oct. I did not respond because this was my second negative experience at the dealership. The first time I wasted my time writing up the issue and got no response. The first incident was on 27 Aug 2020 when I brought my VW GTI in for an oil change and tire rotation. All went well but the “Lindsay Volkswagen World Class Inspection” (actually says that on the invoice) recommended a four wheel alignment. I left the dealership and went directly to the NTB service shop where they offer a 5 year alignment. They said I had a bad brake caliper leak. I left NTB and went directly to my mechanic who confirmed the caliper leak and replaced the caliper. I wrote this up and sent it twice to the texts and got no response. Bottom line: The manager tried to resolve but between overpriced estimates, bad diagnosis and a feedback system made designed to send generic texts I would take my business elsewhere. More
SAFETY FIRST! When I dropped off my car on 3/19/2020, Henry met me with a huge smile and welcome. As I walked into the service department, Henry wiped the door ha When I dropped off my car on 3/19/2020, Henry met me with a huge smile and welcome. As I walked into the service department, Henry wiped the door handles, steering wheel and shifter off with bacterial spray. Henry smiled again and said we all have to be safe. I noticed everyone in the service department keeping a social distance and most wearing gloves. My information was gathered by a very polite and professional young man - sorry I didn't get his name. Glen called on 3/20 with his findings. He explained everything in detail to both me and my husband. When I picked up the car today - 3/21 Henry was cheerful and smiling. Erik was extremely helpful when I asked for a new battery for my spare key fob. After explaining how I use the car, Glen was very patient as he explained what I needed to do to correct the issue - in my words - drive the car faster to clear the carbon. Again I was extremely impressed how well prepared the service department was to handle all the precautions for the corona virus. Hand sanitizer, wipes, social distancing and a new pen for every customer for the necessary signatures. Thank you Service Department for keeping me safe and keeping your employees safe. More

I was quickly pushed down the priority level just because i bought a used car and i was using my warranty. Not cool VW OF STERLING, i had an appt which i took time of work to make. Way to screw a working mom by making this visit almost useless. More
Recent repair Having multiple VW's serviced at Lindsay VW since they opened, I knew I wanted to purchase a CPO TDI from them when the time was right. With so many Having multiple VW's serviced at Lindsay VW since they opened, I knew I wanted to purchase a CPO TDI from them when the time was right. With so many TDI's to choose from, I was able to get exactly what I was looking for within my budget. Unfortunately I did have a mechanically issue and the car was towed to another VW dealership via VW Roadside Assistance that came with the CPO car. That dealership failed miserably at diagnosing the problem, so I had the car taken back to Lindsay. Within minutes of communicating with the service manager, Paul Boots, I knew I had made the correct decision on having the car looked at by Lindsay for a second opinion. Not only was the car repaired under the TDI CPO Warranty, it was done very quickly. I can't not thank them enough for doing what they did, excellent service! More
Great Sales Team, Worst Service Team The Sales Team (particularly Debbie Gonzalez) was great. Debbie worked with us to get us into the 2019 Atlas of our choosing. Debbie openly and quic The Sales Team (particularly Debbie Gonzalez) was great. Debbie worked with us to get us into the 2019 Atlas of our choosing. Debbie openly and quickly communicated with us when we had questions and requests. The sales team is where the good service stops. 3 weeks after taking home our 2019 Atlas, I jumped in after work and started to drive home just after a nice afternoon storm wrapped up. At the first stop light I came to it started to rain from the upper console area. I used a napkin to catch the water before it got all over the entertainment equipment. I thought maybe the sunroof wasnt closed properly so I opened it and closed it hoping that was that. Nope, the next week, same thing happened. We called Lindsay VW about the issue and booked an appointment for the following week. Our appointment was on a Thursday morning at 745AM. We received a Jetta Loaner, not quite a comparable vehicle but thinking this would be a day or so, didnt think it was a big deal. We called Thursday afternoon for a status but were promised a return call from the Service Advisor....no call. We called Friday for a status but were promised a return call from the Service Advisor...no call. Monday Morning rolled around and we had still not even received a call from anyone regarding our vehicle. I called in and spoke to the nice girl who answered the phone, our advisor was busy, he was handling so many requests he would have to get back to us. Since I could not get a service advisor to even call me I resorted to reaching out to the Sales team asking for help. We finally received a call from the Service Department on Monday evening but all they could do was tell us that they had not even had our car in the bay to diagnose the issue yet. What good is an appointment if 5 days later our car has not been looked at yet? After the Service Team finally got around to looking for an issue we were told it was a weather stripping problem and it had been fixed. Unfortunately they dropped the bomb that our car was moldy and they would need to replace the headliner and carpeting. We were told that it would take 7 days to get the "parts" in for the replacement. So you are telling me that it will take a week to just get some carpeting and headliner? We called at the end of Day 14 and were told we would receive a return call on the status...guess what, no call was received. Fast forward, it is now Day 15. We placed a call into the service department to try once again to get some status. The nice girl who answered the phone said she doesnt believe the "parts" are in yet. If you want to service a VW or need repairs, I urge you to go elsewhere. If you want an open line of communication with your service team without having to hound them, go elsewhere. I would give this less than a 1 star if it wasnt for the great Sales team. UPDATE: I have been in contact with the Service Manager Paul Boots at this time who is doing his best to correct the issue and has been open about the status. This is has helped ease the frustration due to the lack of communication previously. Will update again once the vehicle is fully repaired and returned, but do appreciate actual feedback from the dealership at this time. More
