Bad Business twice I received an offer from caroffer.com for a used vehicle I was selling on craigslist. I was instructed to take the car to Montgomery Lincoln were I wa I received an offer from caroffer.com for a used vehicle I was selling on craigslist. I was instructed to take the car to Montgomery Lincoln were I was told I would receive my offer for $8500. I took a chance and drove up to the dealership with my family in tow. I was welcomed by a sales consultant who greeted me. I asked for Doug as requested by Bruce Earrly from Kings Toyota. I was told Doug would be expecting me, keep in mind there was NO customers in the dealership only a few sales guys kicking the water cooler. I got the impression when meeting Doug that I was bothering him on this rainy day. After a quick test drive Doug asked me to step into his office. Doug proceeded to nickle and dime me to death over every little details of the car. "I smelled oil, you have some scratches here and there", tires are worn". Doug never once took me out to the car to show or explain any of his observations of my car. Doug offered me $7100 for the car. Really? I drove from union, ky with 3 yr old son and wife for my so called guaranteed offer of $8500 to get in front of Doug with an offer of $7100. As I mentioned before, I believe I was bothering Doug or he simply doesnt like to deal with customers. He simply wanted me out of the showroom. 2nd Time. Called and emailed dealership as I was interested in a used BMW, I was told someone would get back to me within in minutes of my text. I did recieve a call and was told they couldnt give me a price because the car was in service. What? Really? Too the dealerships credit Andy Buck did try me back as I was signing the paperwork for my new car. Lastly, the dealership needs an overhaul and if I was a consultant you know where I would start. I chose one to take a test drive in and he was very knowledgeable informing me of all the options the car offered. We discussed price and were in the ball park for what I wanted to spend. The manager & I came to an agreement and thus I purchased the car. This is the 12th car that we have purchased from this dealership-Kenwood Lincoln Mercury, Kings Lincoln and now Montgomery Lincoln. Obviously they do something right!! More
