This outfit epitomizes the true reputation of car dealers! They advertised a vehicle for sale. I called to confirm it’s availability. Not only was I assured it was in fact available, but they set me up for a VIP appointment to see it. Someone named Andrea then sent me a text 75 minutes prior to the appointment confirming. I kept the texts and time stamps for verification. Drove over an hour to get there where we’re met by Carl (seemed like a decent guy). Never saw Andrea. He tells us the vehicle was just sold 90 minutes earlier. Anybody ever bought a used car before? They can’t wrap up the sale/paperwork in less than 2 hours. They offered us another vehicle with 13,000 more miles at the same price. Greg, the manager had Carl pass along he was “sorry about the mix-up” and we would “leave there with a smile and shaking his hand”. Really??? Don’t you think the manager, Greg, would have stepped out to handle a situation like this, especially given that Carl the salesman had only been with the dealership 2 days? Nope. Never saw him OR Andrea. Really ironic they called me later as I was heading to my NEXT appointment asking if I was going to still make my VIP appointment with them. They didn’t have me marked off as having showed up. I told that person the whole story and would have expected some response later but heard nothing. V I P APPOINTMENT??? You must be kidding??? Don’t fall for that nonsense! My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau! Wish I had the opportunity to give a 0 or negative stars. More

I took my car in for an oil change and was told I needed the tires rotated as well as replaced. I did not replace the tires, however, I did have them rotated and the oil changed. The service sheet stated that the tire pressure was checked and filled. I had to return to the dealership as it was obviously not done by the huge variance in tire pressure. They put in writing that they complete services which they do not do-very unethical. I was treated as rudely as can be when I returned by Dennis in the service department. Dennis could have cared less that the air pressure was never checked even though it indicated on the form that it was, he didn't even acknowledge there was an issue. In addition, the tech also told me the tire was in such bad condition that the metal could come through and it was dangerous to drive. I immediately went somewhere else to a professional and while the tires did need to be replaced, the statement was a scare tactic and I was not in any danger of having the metal of the tire come through. In my opinion, the service department has an issue with women, doesn't perform work they state they do, and tries to scare people into spending money with them. Completely unethical dealership. This is the second time that I have experienced unethical behavior from the service department and I wouldn't recommend anyone go there-I will not be back!! More

TO TOP IT OFF I DID NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF MY INFORMATION AND SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM TO NOT SAVE ANY OF MY INFORMATION BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO BE PUT ON A CALL LIST. 5 MINUTES AFTER GETTING OFF THE PHONE WITH THEM THEY HAD A SALES CONSULTANT GIVE ME A CALL TO ATTEMPT TO EARN MY BUSINESS BACK. THEY COMPLETELY DISREGARDED MY REQUEST TO NOT CALL ME BACK OR SAVE ANY OF MY INFORMATION. ALSO IF YOU WANT A CPO VEHICLE ENJOY PAYING FOR THE CERTIFICATION THAT 98% OF THE DEALERSHIP DO IT FOR FREE. BEFORE DRIVING AND WASTING YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ MY STORY AND VISIT BBB. I have been shopping for Chevy Trax LS for my daughter for the past several weeks looking for the best offer. During my search, I become very familiar with all the incentive and bonuses dealerships are offering (if you already lease a car and if you finance through GM) Since I secured my financing through my bank and used their car search simulator, I found the car at Libertyville Chevy. I called and asked to speak to Sales Associate and ended up talking to Maria who claimed that she could assist me (I assumed she is in Sales). During our phone conversation, I asked Maria about the best price they can offer for the Trax they advertised. She explained that the price listed is the best price she can offer over the phone and is the price I will be paying for the car. I explained to her that I do not qualify for lease incentives and I will not be financing through GM, will my price change. She confirmed that price will not change, that is what I will be paying. Besides the agreed sales price of the car, I asked Maria to list me all the other fees that I will be responsible to pay. According to Maria, all I had to pay was Doc. Fees, Tax and Registration (new plates). That same day I called her again to make sure I have the correct information and again she confirmed the same. Before we were ready to drive a 1 hour, I called Maria again and asked her to send me an email confirming the price and fees. Her emailed confirmed our conversation and I was to pay the advertised price, plus doc fee, tax, and registration. I called her back to ask if she can resend an email and provide price breakdown and ended up talking to her Manager Sarah who confirmed the deal and claimed they are honest dealerships and I should not be worried. Confident that I got my deal, we drove 1 hour to meet with Maria. To our surprise, when we came to the dealership we were not meeting Maria since she is not a Sales Associate, she is a Customer Service Rep., instead, we met with Ivan. I had to explain to Ivan my agreement with Maria (waste of time), so he went to talk to his Manager. When he presented the offer to me, I could not believe my eyes. They added destination charge approx. $655, add nitrogen-filled tire, VIN etching approx. $700.00 and an additional $750 for not financing through GM. I requested to talk to the Manager since this is not something Maria confirmed repeatedly over the phone. His Manager Abe came to talk to me and he explained that Maria does not know details and I am getting the price they advertised. I explained that I came to buy the car at the agreed price and fees disclosed to me. He ended up removing destination charges but could remove the nitrogen package since it is already in the tires. In exchange, he offered me some maintenance package. In the end, still unhappy with the service I agreed to the final price so I can get this agony over with and go home with a car. I repeatedly told them that I have my own financing and do not want to use GM, but if they want to run the credit application with GM, they are welcome to do so. I will only accept the deal if I get the same finance rate with GM or we go with my bank at the price we agreed to. I waited another 2 hours to meet with the Finance Manager Peter with a very condescending attitude who waited for me with Abe, Sales Manager and presented me with two options: Finance through GM with a finance rate 3.5% higher than what I was approved for through my bank with the price Abe and I agreed or Finance using my bank with a price increase of $750.00 since I am not financing through GM. How ethical is that? He claimed that he is already losing money on the car and there is nothing he can do to remove it. Neither Peter or Abe were willing to take the responsibility for the miss presentation of their employee, so after a total of 4.5 hours wasted I left the dealership without the car. More

Paperwork did not match what was agreed to. I am still upset over the treatment I received in July 2018 when I bought a used vehicle from Keith. Only after my trade in title was signed over did I am still upset over the treatment I received in July 2018 when I bought a used vehicle from Keith. Only after my trade in title was signed over did I realize he did not actually let me read the Carfax report, which he'd kept in his hand. The vehicle had been in 2 accidents in Connecticut. No big deal, rear passenger door and a fender replacement. What bothers me the most and still does is how I was preapproved for the car loan through Chase and guaranteed to be in and out in 2 hours and they kept me there for almost 5 hours. They offered me $1000 on my trade in vehicle, which was completely insulting. I should have driven off then and there. The paperwork included their "interior package" for $3000 and window VIN etching for $500, both of which I adamantly refused. Both showed up in the final paperwork. When I refused to sign the final agreement the finance guy pitched a fit and told me he would not "do the deal". Thank goodness my adult daughter was a witness to this despicable and unprofessional behavior. No one would believe me otherwise. Turns out a coworker just had the same experience at the dealership. I guess I did not warn her enough and they pulled the same tactics on her. "Interior package and VIN etching." 4 plus hours of waiting for something to happen. Please take my word for it. Do not give them your business. More
Don't waste your time; terrible tactics and hidden fees! I was recently shopping for a particular Jeep, I initiated contact with the sales staff at the dealer and after some communications I decided to stop I was recently shopping for a particular Jeep, I initiated contact with the sales staff at the dealer and after some communications I decided to stop in and test drive the vehicle. When it came to discussing the numbers I couldn't help to notice how inflated the numbers became. With the typical sales person - sales manager tactic, they offered way below typical trade in value for my vehicle, - which is not a huge issue, I get they want to maximize their profits. With that I asked for them to walk me through the numbers. Things the alarmed me: 1. They took the tax credit for my trade off the top line value of my vehicle. 2. They tacked on a $400 window vin etching & nitrogen tire fill. ( that was laughable, as if I was going to be tracing down car parts in the event the vehicle was stolen). 3. $1,000 vehicle prep fee! I'm a car guy, I know brakes weren't serviced, the car got a basic wash and not even a detail as I could see swirls in the paint. The negotiations with the dealer were beyond poor, I purchased 20+ vehicles in my life and I have never encountered such a poor service. Following my visit I noticed the dealer kept on lowering the price of the vehicle, I stood by my offer. I even received a message from the sales parson saying "you snooze you loose, its sold BROTHER" all the while the price of the vehicle was again lowered. Looks like the staff needs to brush up on general customer service and negotiations training. More
