Hello, Philip...thank you for taking time to leave us your feedback. Your kind words about Kedwin are appreciated...he's doing a great job, and we're glad you were happy with him! Regarding the misstatement of the options in the car you purchased from him, let me say "shame on us" for not catching the mistake on your window sticker. The window stickers on all of our pre-owned vehicles are printed by a third party company. When the representative from this company takes the pictures for our internet listings, he or she also makes note of how each car is equipped, and prints out the window sticker that you're referring to. Unfortunately, when that was done for the vehicle you purchased, the representative assumed the screen in the dashboard was for Navigation, which we know is incorrect. To be clear, the warning on the window sticker is not an attempt on our end to be shady in any way...it's there because the people taking the pictures and printing the stickers aren't experts on all the different vehicles that they photograph, and they do make mistakes, as they did in the case of your car. After receiving your feedback, we contacted the company and asked that they review the information for all of the pre-owned vehicles on the lot to ensure the accuracy of the information presented, which they agreed to do. Going forward, you can be sure that we'll check the window stickers more closely to avoid this happening to another customer in the future. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we hope you're enjoying your car!

Liberty Kia responded

Hi, Sue...thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. I'm sorry that we fell short of your expectations, particularly in light of your history with Liberty Subaru. I would like to take a minute to clarify a few of your points, however. Regarding your "DMV" fees...we have always collected the charges for titling, registration, etc. separately at all of our stores, including Subaru. The reason is simple...the cost varies depending on each circumstance, and it's illegal to profit from the processing of MVC fees. Just like when you purchased your Subaru, you left with a paper temporary registration on your car. We process the MVC work and pay the bill on your behalf. When you pick up your new license plates and registration, you reimburse us whatever we paid on your behalf, plus a processing charge of $8.30. That $8.30 is the tradeoff for not having to spend an afternoon at an MVC office. In an effort to make sure our customers are aware that the MVC charges are not part of their purchase, there is a separate signature box on your buyers order, just below the purchase total that reads "Subsequent to deliver of vehicle Dealer will invoice Customer for the actual costs of titling and registering the vehicle. Customer agrees to pay the charges." Additionally, when you picked up your car, you signed a document that says "Liberty Subaru will perform all Motor Vehicle work pertaining to the purchase of your vehicle. We do not estimate Motor Vehicle charges andd the cost of your temporary registration, permanent registration, title, and license plates are not part of your buyers order. I understand that when the permanent registration is received by the dealership I will receive a receipt detailing the charges associated with this transaction and I agree to reimburse Liberty Subaru for this transaction performed on my behalf." I feel badly if there was still confusion regarding these charges after signing both of these documents, but I feel that we made a reasonable attempt at transparency. Regarding the value of your trade...as was explained when your vehicle was appraised, while the broken windshield did affect your trade value, the "Stolen Vehicle Recovery" notation on the CARFAX report, along with the body damage and condition of the interior were bigger factors in the $500 reduction in trade value. Regarding the chips in the windshield of the pre-owned vehicle that you purchased...unfortunately, they were small enough that they were not caught during our inspection of your vehicle. When repaired properly, they are an acceptable permanent repair, as long as they are not in the drivers line of sight, which these were not. When reconditioning a pre-owned vehicle, we often need to make decisions when to repair things versus replacing them. If we were to replace everything on a pre-owned car that was in less than perfect condition, it would soon cost as much as a new one. In this particular price range, adding several hundred dollars to the cost (and therefore the asking price) would make the price of the vehicle you purchased more than it would be worth. As you noted, however, Kevin did offer to stand behind your purchase if the chips spread. This type of damage would be impossible to inflict damage like a stone chip using the soft SNO-BROOMs that we use to clear snow off of our inventory. Again, I feel badly that we were unable to meet your expectations the second time around, but I hope you're enjoying your vehicle.
