When we Worst car dealer in Illinois! I bought a VW tiguan in August. We agreed to pay extra for the 17'' alloy wheel, and blue-tooth connection. When we picked up the car two days later, the dealer told us the wheel on the car was 17'' alloy, with no comparisons we trusted the dealer. When we get home and did some research, we found those were just standard wheels. So we went back to the dealer, they took out the original sales paper and on there they put "no 17'' alloy wheels". The handwriting was completely different, everyone could tell they wrote that just moment ago. The salesman and manager both denied that they ever agreed to such a deal. So I talked to the "General Manager", yea... He made my day even better... First he kept brag about how many real estates he ever bought, kept on saying that was my fault for not taking a closer look of the car, and then he raised his voice and started to threading me. Great! BTW, check, BBB, They got an F! no surprise! It was 6 month ago, now I decided to buy another VW, a VW CC. I learned and searched for dealer ratings this time! That got "DealerRater.com Certified Dealer"... What a Joke. Read the reviews, don't trust this website. More
After being instructed to drop the car off at noon, I arrived to find the mechanics were all at lunch. I was told they'd need a hour and a half to look at my car. Courtesy ride back to work was followed arrived to find the mechanics were all at lunch. I was told they'd need a hour and a half to look at my car. Courtesy ride back to work was followed by a return trip at 4, their latest pickup time. The dealership had confirmed the two problems I had advised - rear defroster inoperable, muffler broken off at flange. Parts were on order, but my warranty would cover both services. I had to leave the car there all afternoon for them to confirm what I knew and could demonstrate with five minutes of pointing. It took 30 minutes for them to bring the wrong vehicle out front for me and an additional 10 to get my vehicle. I received a phone call the next morning advising my muffler is actually not under warranty. Terry offered me the number for warrantyservice and said he'd call back in 10 minutes. Hours later, I've received no call and only reach voicemailI. I need my vehicle fixed and am willing to pay, but this unprofessional behavior leaves me with no choice but to call around. More
Worst experience ever! I struggle to find words strong enough to adequately describe how horrible my experience was without using profanity. I found the car I LOVED online, and after running through prici enough to adequately describe how horrible my experience was without using profanity. I found the car I LOVED online, and after running through pricing, trade, and financing at another dealer, I had a good idea of what I wanted to have happen when I walked through the doors. After getting back from the test drive Carl asked me if I liked it. Of course I said yes, and then explained that liking and affording are two different things and we needed to talk numbers. He said that he was going to have all the stickers taken off and have it cleaned while we drew up the paperwork. I repeated that I was not buying the car, but wanted to look at different pricing options with and without a trade, different financing packages, etc. He told me, in a condescending tone, that he would have me work those things out with the finance guy in just a few minutes and that it would all work out just fine. AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES later (I was the only customer I saw), I sat down with the finance guy. He was told by Carl that it was a done deal at numbers I never agreed to. They offered me HALF on my trade in than what I was offered three days prior at another dealer, financing that was TWO AND A HALF TIMES what I was offered elsewhere, and refused to budge a penny on the asking price. I am convinced that despite my telling Carl that I am a math teacher and a numbers person, he was taking me for such a ride because I came in there by myself as a woman. I walked away from a car I LOVE and have been hunting for simply because I couldn't bear to give this joke of a man my money. To make matters worse, I called the other VW dealer to check some of the "facts" I was told about warranties and financing, and found out that I was flat out LIED TO. UGH! It makes my blood pressure rise just thinking about the place. More

We have purchased 4 cars from Liberty Auto Plaza and every experience has been both professional and satisfactory. From the sales staff to management we were treated with respect. The sales staff had a lot of knowledge of the vehicles that we looked at making our decision on which one to purchase easy. Curt Biron was wonderful to deal with on the closing of the sale. I was insulted with the stereotypical "car salesman" tactics used on me. I was told that the car I wanted to but would cost sticker price, no less. And I had to put down $1500 for a dealer locate. Te tactics used on me. I was told that the car I wanted to but would cost sticker price, no less. And I had to put down $1500 for a dealer locate. Ted even told me the wrong stocker price that was $3000 MORE than the real sticker. He wouldn't even hear of my wanting to just order the car (2010 Altima). If this dealer hires people like Ted and Amanda, then I say find another Nissan dealer. To be fair, at least I called and complained, and Bill the manager apologized and stated I will work directly with him from now on. This dealership will not get my business though. I received Much better service from 2 other Nissan dealers, and will choose one of them, even though they are further away from me. More
I am not satisfied, as a matter of fact I will NEVER buy from Liberty Auto Plaza again. I found out when making my 36th payment on a company car lease that I owed another payment. After investigation I was from Liberty Auto Plaza again. I found out when making my 36th payment on a company car lease that I owed another payment. After investigation I was told that my first months lease payment, or so I thought, went as a downpayment. I was told that this is a common ploy of car salesman to make money and it happened at Liberty Auto Plaza in Libertyville. I took my issue to the sales manager, Curt Byron and to the owner John Masserelli and they had told me that they would provide a store credit to be used for service, merchandise, etc. This never happened and it was like pulling teeth dealing with these guys. Curt NEVER returned my calls, and I found the owner less than pleasant. All they wanted to do is apply it to a new car purchase/lease. That didn't help things, they gave the impression that they could care less about me. So long story short, I have purchased a new Chevrolet Traverse from across the street, now those people care about their customers! I will never recommend to my over 4200 clients buying a Volkswagen and if they ever call me with dealings from Liberty Auto Plaza, I will politely tell them to “run”! More

Then the service is always done right the first time with prices that are reasonable. I get a free car wash every time my car is brought in for service. Everyone says hello and is super friendly. They also mail out coupons all the time AND have them on their website. They just have a nice environment. Liberty Auto Plaza really exceeds expectations in terms of the service experience. More
