My wife bought her last car from Lia. She had some minor issues (such as the 1/4 tank of gas at delivery- tacky!), but nothing too bad. So when Lia had the used car I wanted, I figured I'd give them a shot. Everything was going swimmingly until my salesperson (Mike Conlon) handed me just one key at delivery. I asked where the other key was. He said, "that's all it came with." Ok. Not the end of the world. I'll just go to the hardware store and have them make a copy for $10, right? No. It's a computer chip key. I call the Mazda dealer and they want $260 including the key, the fob, and programming. $260!? So I go back to Lia and explain to Mike how ridiculous it is that the car came with one computer key and how he had neglected to mention this prior to signing. I had been able to negotiate a whole 2.8% off the asking price but would be spending 1.8% to copy the one and only key. I was underwhelmed and I let Mike know this. He said he would look into it and get back to me in two days. Three days passed without a call, so I emailed him. No reply. So I stopped in to the dealer today to see a.) why he hadn't gotten back to me, and b.) what they were going to do to correct the situation. I got more of the same mumbo-jumbo from a flustered and unhelpful Mike until I asked to speak with the manager. I was optimistic that reason would prevail, but after a few minutes talking to the fresh-faced sales manager (also named Mike), I grew sick of his smug and condescending tone and realized that they could care less about my satisfaction. I gave them every chance to make things right. I even suggested they give me a voucher for several free oil changes to cover the cost of the key, figuring this would not put them out as much but still be of value to me. They wouldn't hear it. So, now I am making good on my promise to let people know what to expect *after* the sale. You're on your own. In the end, I went to Serv-u Locksmith and purchased a valet key for $60. Was $60 really worth the bad press, Lia? My wife and I won't be back. More
I locked my keys in my car and when I called to request a copy of the keys, they went out of their way to make me a new pair within an hour and deliver them to me so I wouldn't have to pay a locksmith. Final purchase price and trade in negotiations were conducted in a timely manner without any sales pressure tactics. The customer service that Ray Becker provided was outstanding and he exceeded my expections in facilitating the transfer of my insurance and registration. I would highly recommend Lia Honda of Northampton for both the purchase and regular service of a vehicle. More
My lease was coming up in 3 months. I originally bought my Odyssey at Curry so they were contacting me. I happened to be in Northampton so I stopped in just to look. Ashley Holloway was so nice, informative and not way pushy. She skipped all the going back and forth and asked me exactly what I wanted for price to not wait another 3 months. The price is bottom line for me and Northampton was better than Curry. Ashley and the whole dealership were also very helpful with my small children. Lia got the color I wanted and fast. There were no hidden costs at the end, which I really appreciated. I now own a beautiful Pilot which I have been driving for 2 days. My family and I love it! Thanks Ashley! More
I usually dread buying a car...I feel like it is a waiting game..meet the sales person, get a price, negotiate, sit and wait while he goes talk to the manager..blah blah blah...not so at this dealer.. waiting game..meet the sales person, get a price, negotiate, sit and wait while he goes talk to the manager..blah blah blah...not so at this dealer...we had a young man Casey Bromfield as our sales person...we had definite ideas on what we wanted and what we would pay...he got right to the point, showed us the car that had exactly what we wanted and off we went...when we told him what we wanted for a trade, he spoke to Pat Esposito(a fellow New Yorker to boot)and we got what we consider a fair price for my beloved toyota tundra...we forgot to sign one document and Casey brought the document to my husband's office in Ct(50 minutes away)for him to sign...I went yesterday to get the crv inspected and was treated very well...I would recommend this dealer to anyone who wants to get a fair deal and be treated like a valued person...ask for Casey and Pat..they are a dream team.... I went to this dealership in the past and had a good experience, however my last visit really showed me that this dealershp is one of a kind. The service advisor went out of his way to look up my past history to find that my car was still under warrenty. It was such a relief that I didn't have to use a charge card to charge a service that I truly couldn't afford. It has been my experience at Lia Honda in Northampton that the people that work there are kind, helpful, diligent, and willing to go the extra mile to provide great service to all that enter their doors. I would definitely recommend this dealer to anyone who is looking for a great car, but more so to anyone who is looking for the GREAT service they provide. More
I have been a customer of Lia Honda of Northampton for many years. It is the only place I bring my car for service, in fact it is also where I purchased my car. I keep coming back because of the great service I receive. The staff is always friendly and available to answer all my questions. When I call to schedule my appointment, my advisor, Rob Avery, discusses the service with me upfront over the phone. This gives me an idea of what to expect at my appointment and how much it will cost. I am able to drop my car off before work (even if they aren't open) and pick it up after work. And I am always offered a ride. If something comes up that was unexpected with my service, Rob always calls me immediately and discusses the issue with me. I respect this tremendously, because he allows me to make the decision without feeling preasured or lied to. Rob even gives me a heads up when something should be rechecked and possibly handled at my next service. I remember one particular phone call asking me if I would like my inspection sticker taken care of, since it was expiring that week. It hadn't even occured to me that it was that time of year again. And it was very convenient to have it handled while the rest of my service was being taken care of. When I return, my car is always ready on time, and parked in an easy to find location. I have never been upset with my bill, and I attribute most of that to the fair prices and the fact that I am informed upfront of what to expect, so there are no surprises. For all these reasons I give Rob Avery and the service department a 5 star rating, however, I think he is more like a 10! More
I have been going to this dealership for service for over 6 years. All of the staff are helpful and responsive. The service manager is actively involved with all customers. They want you happy. I have 270,000 miles on my 06 CRV and I credit them and the fact that they listen to my concerns. We have made a good team keeping this car in excellent shape for my delivery business. I had done all my previous service at another local dealership and never felt as good or trusting of the service as I do with this dealership. They make you feel you are important for as little as a burnt out headlight or replacing wiper blade inserts. This is a very busy service department and they do an amazing job helping so many every single day. They are aware of my need for a reliable delivery vehicle and that I don't want it to be off the road for any significant amount of time. Repairs are scheduled around the hours the vehicle isn't being used and when all else fails, a loaner or rental is offered. I can't say enough good things. I also really appreciate the parts department...without parts there would be no repairs and their parts department is vital in making the repairs happen quickly and on schedule. More
