STAY AWAY!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! TERRIBLE!!This place STAY AWAY!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! TERRIBLE!! This place is the worst Lexus dealership I have ever experienced. My family and I have owned many Lexus STAY AWAY!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! TERRIBLE!! This place is the worst Lexus dealership I have ever experienced. My family and I have owned many Lexus vehicles and equal history with Lexus dealership maintenance. This one is beyond belief the most unprofessional I have dealt with. First time here at this location today and just in for an oil change. Of course Scott Banta(Service Consultant) gives a list of recommendations for maintenance, many of which may not be entirely necessary but normal. What was weird at first, is that he states and shows he has pulled my entire maintenance record and has consulted his mechanic but starts asking me questions about the vehicle. These questions are easily answered by the model and history of the car. I cant figure why he would ask but for only to test my knowledge of my own car. This makes me skeptical of the record of my vehicle being actually available and reviewed. I tell Scott that I will pass on the recommendations for now after I confirm this work has not been done recently. After my oil change I review the experience with Scott and inform I will set an appointment after I look at the vehicle history. Plus I wanted to see if the coolant was actually contaminated, air filter was actually dirty and if the fuel needed to be cleaned. I do like to make sure this is not a salesman trying to take advantage of me. I get home and for some reason just think... open the hood and check.. this visit was uncomfortable. I pop the hood and find the covers under the hood are not secured with the retaining pins and a few but not all pins are stashed on the car. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!! So because I didn't want to pay for a xxxx ton more stuff without checking, they decide to not even check the vehicle if it was put back together!!! xxx!! Just closed the hood and get this car out!! THANKS A TON LEXUS OF TAMPA BAY!! Good show of care and bring confidence to a on the fence first time customer. Okay okay hold on a sec... maybe I am just getting bent for no real reason. I'll just call and give my complaint to someone there. I tell myself 'Calm down Michael' and I call. I call and get referred to Mike, who doesn't answer and I request again to the operator someone and they have Mike call me. Mike calls me and immediately on the call He is dismissive about the cover not being secured and the loose pins being his mechanic from the oil change, no apology and just getting a feeling of Mike DON'T GIVE A DAM. It took a good amount of dialogue just to get him to offer to replace missing pins and offer me back in to have it done.... then a good deal more to at least pay for the gas.. THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH EFFORT FOR OVER PRICE MAINTENANCE AND xxxx SERVICE!! I truly advise to leave this place off your list and find another dealership or someone else. You will get no help. It is too bad for me because this is a close dealership and I want my vehicle to be looked after the same it has for the last 7 years. Thanks Mike and Jason and the lazy mechanic for treating me like I was unnecessary, unimportant, and quite disposable. More

I called your dealership a total of five times to schedule an oil change. After my fifth attempt (two of which I actually spoke to a person) I gave up. What a shame that this is the closest Lexus dealership to my mother. Instead of providing her with a shorter more convenient drive, she will be driving to Wesley Chapel for a simple express service. This is absolutely unacceptable. Don't claim to be the best in customer service and luxury, when you can't even pick up the phone. It doesn't surprise me since it's owned by Autonation. Absolute joke, I would not recommend anyone do any business with this lazy, non-customer service oriented dealership. Wesley Chapel picked up on the first ring and scheduled my mother's car in minutes. More

My service writer (LA) aggressively installed an air-filter and misquoted alignment quote, when it came time to pick up my car, five days later. When it was time to bring the car around, I "coincidently" had a dead battery. When they fixed that problem, I "coincidently" had a front door sensor problem. Keep in mind this is all in a matter of a couple of hours at the dealership. I was given a loaner 4 days later, my son and I went to pick up the car and I "coincidently" had an air conditioner problem. Another loaner and 4 days later they said to pick up my car, they could not find anything wrong with my car. Even though my son had videoed the problem on his phone and showed it to the service advisor. In the meantime I called General Manager Mr. Grady (aka Mr. Greedy) to discuss what had transpired with my service experience. He put me on a 13 minute hold and came back summerizing dates and how much I spent at the dealership. He said, " you have not spent enough money at the dealership to warrent any service and I have not been a good customer." I reminded him that I had bought two sets of tires, numerous tune-ups, and bought a $40,0000 car for my son last Feb 2017. After a few minutes of crickets on the phone his response is " well that was sales and this is service." Lesson: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO LEXUS OF TAMPA BAY. Be very cautious of their end of the month billing tactics, to get you to spend more so they can meet their service quota. Pick the car based on the dealership: poor customer relations = poor customer service = poor workmanship. If you have a Mr. Greedy who only values your business based on how much you have spent...run don't walk. My son is stuck with his new IS, I'm going back to driving a Mercedes. Lastly, I tried to file a complaint with Lexus headquarters in Texas, they only deal with warranty problems and try to advice talking to GM, basically they are worthless. I too filed a complaint with BBB, Lexus in Japan, JD Powers, and Consumer Reports. More
serious problems with every repair I will let my repair history with this dealer speak for itself - 1st brake job on car 1, brake caliper mounting bolt left loose, caliper rotated of I will let my repair history with this dealer speak for itself - 1st brake job on car 1, brake caliper mounting bolt left loose, caliper rotated off rotor into wheel while driving. - wheel lug nut left loose, hand tight, found on routine customer inspection - starter replaced, dealer replaced started failed, less than 30k miles use. Upon 2nd replacement ,not realizing car was serviced at same shop, tech asked who installed this, repair was a "mess". No adjustment made on 2nd replacement. - on a warranty repair done, two, 1" cooling hose clamps, (top left of engine were) were left off during reassembly. Customer found this after noticing coolant level almost gone, dried pink coolant found crusted around hoses where clamps were left off. Inexcusable, clamps were in plain sight, visible on even a cursory inspection of reassembly. - on 2nd brake job, car 2, rear scraping noise heard after only few miles. 1st return visit, told it was dirt?, 2nd return visit, not fixed. 3rd return visit told an adjustment was too tight during initial brake job. Brakes were not smooth, chattered, took car to another shop. Initial brake job completely botched, parts now ruined, required to be replaced. Inexcusable, shoddy work which had to be known as the car was back 3 times. - tire pressure sensor replaced, problem reappeared within 200 miles. 2nd trip this time to another shop, sensor was not initialized and programmed correctly when it was installed. Not a single repair done correctly, some left with dangerous safety conditions , let alone on the first try. More

Same noise developed when stopping slowly at tra Since 2013 we have reported squeeling brake problem when GH350 was taken out of garage each morning. Same noise developed when stopping slowly at traffic lights. 4-5 services at Lexus of Tampa Bay since 2013 have not corrected this continually reported brake problem. In early March 2018 this vehicle sent to Lexus of Tampa Bay again for same brake problem that has grown more noticeable and for body shop work on driver side door. It now has been almost 3 weeks without this vehicle being repaired and returned. According to Pamela in the service department factory rep was required to check our complaint about brake squeal. I was subsequently advised that warranty period to correct this brake problem had expired 5 days before car was given to them. I refused to pay $3500.00 out of warranty cost for brake problem that had been reported continuously for almost 5 years. Complaint to Consumer Reports, Better Business Bureau, Lexus USA and Lexus Japan will be made as soon as non repaired auto is returned More
Would not help fix simple issue on phone. Got battery low light when attempted start after extended trip. Followed manual charging directions but instead of starting all gauge lights came on. Got battery low light when attempted start after extended trip. Followed manual charging directions but instead of starting all gauge lights came on. Called service to get a tech to walk me through reboot to make sure I had followed directions. Was not allowed to talk to tech. Told call AAA have it towed they could get to it in two days. While waiting for AAA went over all directions twice more. Got car to reboot on own after 1.5 hours. Wife called asked for manager. No call back. We get much better service on Chevy truck. Why spend $86,000 to be told call AAA. More

Be warned-Watch out for Service Department Deception I've been loyal to this dealership and its service department for over 10 years. It pains me to state this but that loyalty and trust ended when I jus I've been loyal to this dealership and its service department for over 10 years. It pains me to state this but that loyalty and trust ended when I just recently caught the service department in a major deception. I had taken my car in for recall service recently and while the car was in the service department hands they reported a few other things that needed addressing. Most were small items and things I would expect to be needing replacement; however one items was a rather large sum and something about it didn't make sense to me at the time but I couldn't figure out why at the time. Btw, the car has never seen another service department other than this one so they have all the historical service records in their system and the car has always been serviced per the Lexus recommended intervals/ recommened replacements, etc. Anyway, I didn't have time the day they did the recall work to address the additional items they were recommending so I had them do the recall service work and scheduled a time to bring the car back for the other fixes. On the way home from the recall service I started thinking about one of the service items they mentioned and I thought that was unusual because I faintly rememberd them doing a similar service being described a while back. So, before I took the car back I checked the car and had pictures taken of the under carriage which showed one of their recommended "needed fixes" to be completely false. It also happened to be the most expensive of the items they said needed repair. I returned to the dealership on the service appointment day to have have the other fixes done and confronted them about the false "needed fix." They put the car on the lift, and looked for themselves. The service manager came back (a different one than I had for the recall appointment) and acknowledged that their was no "needed fix" to the rather large item. This was not an inexpensive item they got wrong and a blanant abuse since their written description of the issue was grossly different than even the slightest quick look inspection disqualified. Had I not followed up on my hunch and checked the car and taken pictures I would have made them a nice little profit based on their disception. The sadder part was after they acknolwedged it should never have been recommended for repair there was no apology, no how can we make it up to you, just a shurg, like so what we got caught lying, who cares and what can you do about it because you caught us before having to pay for it. There's even a bit more to the story that's even more dishonest in my opinion but frankly I'm tired of thinking about it so I'll leave it at this. Ironically, my wife and I had just decided to replace this car with another Lexus but after this service experience deception it won't be from this dealership's nor the dealership parent company. Worst customer service I had my lexus serviced and when I picked it up I got my keys and was told the car was parked outside. I got in and my battery was completely dead, th I had my lexus serviced and when I picked it up I got my keys and was told the car was parked outside. I got in and my battery was completely dead, there is no way they wouldn't have known this. I had a difficult time finding anyone to help, asked several people for a jump including the parts manager who said he could sell me a battery but he couldn't install it. I finally got a jump and left. This happened about a year ago, I didn't complain at the time because the dealer has me on a list for a recall, and I didn't want to risk being moved further down. Considering I have been on the list over 2 years I don't think it's going to happen anyway. I would never do business with autonation or buy another lexus again. More

We had to be Towed to Lexus of Tampa Bay unfortunately after the service Dept. closed. We were Unable to get a loaner car. Jeremy a salesman was there and listened to our problem and took the time to investigate and discovered the cause of the problem. Simple, but it amazingly solved our dilemma! He went the extra mile! He explained he was not a mechanic but thought we were good to go and we were! The receptionist and another young woman all offered anything they could do to help us and their kindness will also be long remembered! Thank you Jeremy and staff at Lexus of Tampa Bay!! More
