I was in the market to purchase a used SUV, and I had narrowed down my choices to either an Acura MDX or Lexus GX470. Based on price-point, the Acura was the clear favorite, and I was much more knowledga narrowed down my choices to either an Acura MDX or Lexus GX470. Based on price-point, the Acura was the clear favorite, and I was much more knowledgable on the features/functions/benefits of the Acura, and honestly knew very little about the GX470. I had test driven several Acura's, and had already tried to buy one, but (fortunately) had it sold out from under me by the dealer (my fault not their's). I did a little online research, and decided to check a GX out in person. I found a used model that came close to my budget online, and dropped in one afternoon to Lexus of Portland. I was quickly paired up with Tuan Tran, and within minutes of our introduction, Tuan ran out to get the keys and pull the vehicle around. While he was gone, I had no less than 3 other Lexus associates check in with me to make sure I was being helped, and although this is generally when I start to feel like a fish in a shark tank, I really felt that the staff was sincerely concerned about my comfort rather than the potential sale. Tuan pulled the vehicle to the front door, and we then sat in the vehicle for the next 30 minutes while he reviewed every feature of the GX top to bottom, back to front. I can honestly say in all of my previous vehicle purchases, I ALWAYS know more about the vehicle than the salesperson. This was certainly not the case now. Tuan truly knew the vehicle inside and out, and it was comforting to have someone who I felt could answer any question I threw at him. At this point in time, the Acura began to slip to 2nd place. After the test drive, the Acura had no chance of recovery. The GX outperformed, outmanuevered, and outclassed the Acura in just about every way, and I found myself trying to figure out how to break it to my Acura salesperson. Tuan and I went inside, where I was introduced to the sales manager, who rather than beginning the hard sell, simply reinforced the options and service that came along with a membership into the Lexus club. Tuan continued to detail out the warranty, the service, and all the options that made the Lexus, well, a Lexus. At this point we began to talk $$. Tuan asked what number would make me a serious buyer, and I honestly felt to cheap to throw out my real number. I felt the GX AND Tuan was such a good value, that I tacked on $2k more than I really wanted to offer (probably a consumer mistake, but I don't regret it). Tuan accepted my offer, and I felt like even at the perceived higher price that I got a great value. I received a tour of the facility, and was introduced to several other associates who all sincerely congratulated me on becoming a member of the family. It really made me feel like a king for a day. There were a few small issues to resolve, and I ended up coming in unexpectedly a few days later to actually take possession of the vehicle. Although Tuan didn't know I was coming, he had the paperwork ready to go immediately. I had to take the vehicle in several days later to have it "DEQ'd" and knowing that I was a traveling salesperson, they arranged a brand new Lexus for me to use for the day. The service associate was extremely friendly, and very helpful, and despite a very busy morning in the service bay, had me in and out in 20 minutes. I returned to a clean vehicle loaded with chocolates, and someone to open and close the door for me. All in all, I'd give Lexus of Portland & Tuan Tran a 5 star rating. I will certainly be purchasing another vehicle from them in the future. In my opinion they have set the bar for what a vehicle purchase should look like. More
We bought our first Lexus in 1990 when they first came out. We've been impressed from the first one we owned to the new one we just bought, the RX350. Traded my 2008 rx350 to rx350 2011 and as always an excellent experience with the dealer and staff especially Vic. Great Overall experience and no haggling less pressure during holidays. I was surprised to have Bergen help me move gear from my old car to the new one and follow up with a tutorial on the car's features. Debra Alexander in finance was extremely proficient at getting me set efficiently. I have heartily recommended Lexus of Portland to a few of my colleagues. I was very impressed by the responsiveness and professionalism of the sales team at this Lexus dealership. On December 31, we made an online inquiy about the availability of one of their advertis professionalism of the sales team at this Lexus dealership. On December 31, we made an online inquiy about the availability of one of their advertised certified, pre-owned models. By noon the next day, we had received a phone call from Mr. O'Sullivan along with an invitation to visit the dealership. When we arrived, we were greeted by Mr. Okhotin who explained that he would work with us as Morgan was working with other customers. Daniel explained that he was relatively new and would be able to answer most of our questions, but might need to seek additional clarification. Throughout what became a a four hour process, Daniel patiently answered our questions, explained clearly the multitude of options and features on the cars we were considering and underscored the commitment to customer service of the dealership. He never pressured us to make a decision and gave us the information we needed to make the right decision for us. He was gracious throughout the process and we always welcomed his contributions. As we made our decision, Morgan assisted Daniel with an explanation of the different options and services associated with the car we had chosen and we appreciated his candor, humor and professionalism. Ms. Sorg walked us through the requirements of the lease and the terms upon completion. She patiently answered any questions that we had and was comprehensive in presenting her information. The entire process was enjoyable for us and we felt very good about our decision. We received a further inkling about the dealership's commitment to service when Daniel offered to follow us home to get a the check that we owed for a downpayment since we had not brought our checkbook so we would not have to make a return trip. At this point, it was late Saturday and most everyone else had gone home. e look forward to further interaction with the dealership staff for normal maintenance visits. More
My wife and I always wanted the Lexus RX 350 but felt it was not affordable. Victor was very familiar with the product and was very professional. Long story short,,,, we substantiated the fact that the RX 350 was everything we suspected it was as far as quality, comfort, functionality, etc.... but to our surprise...it was also within our budget......Victor worked very hard to make our desires a reality and we ended up with a new 2011 RX 350, my wife's dream car. My husband located one on the internet and contacted a marvelous salesperson at Lexus of Portland, Lana Tran, who promised to do her best by us, and she absolutely surpassed our expectation. Most important to us, she listened carefully. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and professional in her demeanor. She literally went the extra mile when she picked us up at the Amtrak Station and chauffeured us to the dealership. The car was 100% as she represented backed up by records. I FOUND THE CAR I HAD BEEN HOPING FOR, AND MY HUSBAND FOUND THE PRICE HE CRAVED! She advocated for us to the sales manager with proficient communication and no manipulation. The deal was totally wrapped up in only a few hours. David Delay, the finance liaison, explained extended warranty information and other paperwork details very carefully and kindly. The service department answered questions to help my husband care for our first Lexus. Lana even sat in the car with us, familiarizing us with all the latest technology and features before our long drive home. WE LEFT FEELING MORE SATISFIED THAN WE EVER EXPECTED! I must admit, this was one of the best Christmas presents of my life, and Lexus of Portland, along with a great husband, made it all possible. I even named my car after Lana! We contacted Amir Fazal, who was recommended by a friend of ours in Portland. Amir thought that we had the ideal car and was working diligently throught the details so that we could have an intelligent discussion on pricing. Unfortunately, the auto he had in mind was sold. Therefore we switched our thoughts to leasing an automobile. From the time we made that decision it took only 3+ hours to wrap up the transaction and get on the road back to Olympia, Washington. Clearly, this sale was not Amir's 'first trip to the rodeo." he shepherded the deal through the various dealership departments and made the process transparent and painless. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him - and I can honestly say that I've never, ever said that before about a car salesman. Finally, every one we came in contact with was knowledgeabe and very personable. More

Last week ,I spoke with Charles Jaffee about the 2003 530i bmw that was for sale. So I came in on Thursday last week to test drive the car. Charles was off that day so I spoke with Lana Tran. I asked her to test drive the car and she went to look for the keys and said the keys could not be found. I thought she would still let me see the car anyway , but she didn't. I felt that was odd for a large Lexus dealership not to be prepared. Next, I asked her to appraise my 08 suv while we shop for other cars in my price range. So, she showed me a 05 white lexus es330 for sale. Later, I found out that the carfax showed the car was involved in a accident. The next day Charles called and said he was sorry about the keys and will get one made and give me a call. I would like to mention he never called me back. If this is the way your salesmen treat their customers it doesn't say a lot for customer service.Later,someone email me and said the car was sold. At this time, I feel that I will never shop this dealership again. More
