On Wednesday evening last, Lexus of Glendale salesmen offered us $15K for our trade-in (an excellent 2007 Acura TL -- $22K retail value) and the MSRP for a new CT200h. We agreed all around and we left due to the late hour. We returned the next morning and spoke with the same salesmen and confirmed our agreement and sat down and filled out financing papers (a fall-back requirement to ensure our check wouldn't bounce) and gave the completed papers to the salesmen. They said that a Manager needed to speak with us. A man came out and sat with us and explained that he was rescinding the offer on our car and would only give us $11K. We were so offended at this bait and switch tactic that we got up to leave. The Manager asked us whether we were flexible. We explained that we had been lied to and no deal was possible. Too bad because they are the closest Lexus dealer to our home and we would have liked to use them for continued service for the car. We since bought our CT200h from Newport Lexus and found them excellent to deal with. More

I had almost given up on buying a new car. It seemed impossible to browse any new car dealership without being approached by a salesperson with his or her relentless barrage of questions. “Let me ask yo impossible to browse any new car dealership without being approached by a salesperson with his or her relentless barrage of questions. “Let me ask you...what model are you looking for?...And how much do you want to spend?...Are you looking to lease (because we have amazingly low rates right now) or did you want to purchase?...” I had begun to believe there was no dealership in L.A. that would allow me to look around and take my time. I want to figure out the model and price on my own, and then, just maybe, I’d be able to figure out the best way to purchase the vehicle. Too many salespeople try to rush you into a decision about the model and the way to pay for it. I wasn’t going to buy immediately. I wanted to make an informed decision. It wasn’t until I met Edison Babayova, at Lexus of Glendale, that I changed my mind about new car dealerships. It was a pleasure not having to rush into a decision, and I appreciated the fact that Lexus of Glendale didn’t hit me with the hard sell technique -- that’s what'll make me walk right out of a dealership. Once I realized that Lexus of Glendale wasn’t playing the usual dealership games, I actually wanted to buy a car from them! And most importantly, I got an incredible price -- way below MSRP -- on my Lexus. I fully recommend Lexus of Glendale, and their salesperson, Edison Babayova -- he was THE BEST! This is the second time they gave me a great deal on a lease & made things as easy as possible when I had little time to deal with the administrative side. Service pricing at Lexus of Glendale, tends to be on the high side. As in any other business, relationship is the key to success. I have been commited to one individual, Chris Bosque in the service department. I feel like her cares about my needs, and makes me feel unique and taken care of. just to reiderate Lexus' pricing is high but having the individualized care from someone like Chris Bosque, makes it worth every cost. The sales employees were extremely helpful and informative. The general staff was very courteous as well and were ready to assist me with any questions I had. Francisco was very helpful for my car search. Although it took him awhile to help us since he was also assisting several other customers, he came to us as soon as possible. He gave us all the options that he has on the lot and brought them down to us. We test drove the car with great handling. Francisco was very knowledgeable about the car. He even shared about his own experience of owning the car himself. We started talking about the price. He gave us a quick quote for out the door price. We thought it was a bit high. We told him that we'll think about it. He said that the price can be negotitated. He wouldn't even be surprised if it can go another $750 lower. We left the dealership wanting to crunch some numbers to make sure that we can afford the car. We came back an hour later with the intention to buy the car. We negotiated back and forth to get to a lower price. He eventually brought Gilbert Cheng, Sales Manger, out to talk to us. They both worked hard to try to meet my number. Yet in the end, it fell short. The final price they gave us was only $250 lower than the original quote. It didn't go down as far as the $750 that he believed he could get for us. We would have bought the car if they had gone lower than $250. Although we didn't buy the car from them, we had a great experience and I would definitely come back in the future to work with Francisco to get my next car. More
