I have owned a Lexus for the last 2 1/2 years and for the first time the service provided by the Service Advisor at the Sarasota dealership was very poor. Greg Burris was the Service Advisor assigned for the 30K miles service for my 2022 NX F-Sport on Saturday, February 15. It all started when I asked why the 30K miles service was going to cost me over $800… I was told it was one of the “Big/Important Services” and a lot of things were going to be checked and some parts replaced. From that moment on, he had no problem showing his frustration at my questions, and worst of all, acting as if it was my obligation to pay for what he considered my car needed, without even asking if any of those things had already been done to the car or if any part had been replaced, such as the front wipers that were replaced and paid for in the previous service or the key battery that I changed a couple of weeks ago. His annoyance became more noticeable as I asked more questions trying to understand what services were “necessary or required” and which were “recommended.” He didn’t understand why I didn’t consider the same services necessary for my car that he did to his car or his girlfriend’s (he mentioned this on several occasions). The conversation became more hostile when I told him I wanted a second opinion and that I was going to ask my boyfriend, who is the sales manager at a local car dealership , to review the list and tell me what he thought was necessary to do to the car. His annoyance was evident in his eyes and in the way he spoke. I could tell that he felt like I was wasting his time, and maybe I was, but I believe that as a customer, I have the right to consider my options and make the right decision without feeling pressured. Greg was rude, harsh, and disrespectful to the very end. I finally decided that I did not want to leave my car with him and told him that I was going to make another appointment with another advisor. He warned me that another advisor would probably not be able to give me the discount that he was offering me that day ($50) and that he would not be at the dealership this week. He never sent anyone to bring my car back to me and after waiting 10 minutes I had to ask one of the valets where my car was and he kindly showed me where it was parked. It was a terrible experience, and not because of the amount of money the service cost, but because the customer service was terrible and this is not the type of service you expect from a luxury car dealership. More

After visiting my local Toyota dealer for maintenance for my 2024 4Runner, I was very unhappy with the experience. I contacted Lexus to verify that they could provide any work on my vehicle being as they are my 2024 4Runner, I was very unhappy with the experience. I contacted Lexus to verify that they could provide any work on my vehicle being as they are in the same family as Toyota. I did this similarly for many years bringing my Honda to Acura for service. The experience at Lexus was a 180 degree opposite of the local Toyota dealer. Smiling, friendly and helpful people throughout the Lexus dealership. Particularly Lisa Rubendunst in service. What a wonderfully pleasant person! For those of you with Toyotas, I would recommend you skip the over-crowded, irritable service dept at Toyota and move on up! More
