Consumer Beware We were in the market for a used 2015 / 2016 Toyota Sequoia 4WD Platinum. While doing a search I came across 4 nice SUVS that this dealer had in stoc We were in the market for a used 2015 / 2016 Toyota Sequoia 4WD Platinum. While doing a search I came across 4 nice SUVS that this dealer had in stock. They looked very nice. We had pulled a CarFax on one of the trucks (more on that later). I proceeded to do some research on the dealer on the better business bureau website and found a complaint eerily similar to what I experienced in October 2016. What I discovered was that at least one of these (stock # F18725) had been manufactured for the Canadian market. I called Skip Parent, who is the sales rep I exchanged emails and calls with, to ask if this truck was bought in Canada and he said it may have been. I informed him the CarFax said it was purchased in Canada. He said ok. Then I proceeded to ask if the warranty (what was left of it) would be honored in the U.S.A. and Skip said yes. We called a local Toyota Dealer and gave them the VIN# who informed us the warranty would not be honored in the US. This is similar to the BBB complaint listed above. What this shows is that this dealer continues to practice questionable business behavior by trying to pull a fast one on would-be-consumers. Do your research folks. This is large expenditure you are about to embark. A moment of research can spare you some pain and aggravation. More
