When the service was completed, I picked up the car, drove home the short distance, and parked in my driveway. The next morning while at a traffic light, the car started to go on fire from the engine and eventually burst into flames. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I don't believe it was a coincidence that it happened a few hours since the car was picked up from the service at Legend Audi Volkswagon in Amityville. When I told them of the incident, they had no explanation and were only able to say "sorry it happened". They were unprofessional from the start and the end result of the car showed, unfortunately. If you plan on having your car serviced there, I would strongly advise against it. More
This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Their service department will rip you off any chance it gets. Brought my Audi in to have the brakes fixed as they were making lots of squeaking noise. Service said I needed new rotors + pads which I thought was xx since the squeaking was happening at 12k miles. Paid $600 for new brakes, still making noise even after new brakes. They couldn't fix, said it was normal. Brought to another dealer and the other dealer said there was a TSB (technical service bulletin) available for my car and I would be entitled to free brakes from the manufacturer. Apparently the TSB calls for using a different style of brakes that don't make noise. So basically not only did Legend sell me brakes I didnt need to pay for, they sold me the same brakes that cause the issue in the TSB! Asked for new wipers and they installed wipers that literally hung off the side of the car. Required I bring the Audi back to them to fix. I am not sure what they were thinking when they installed them because the average person would notice they were the wrong size. When you turn the blades on, the one blade was literally smacking and bouncing against the far windshield trim (the video I took of this with my phone looks so obvious). When washing my car they left spray residue all over the door and interior panels of my car. Took them three days to get it off completely. I had a crackling noise coming from an inside dash speaker. Legend decides to replace a door speaker not once, but twice... even after I told them which speaker was making the noise. Apparently this dealer makes it commonplace to install things on your car without TESTING them first. Had to make four separate trips to this dealer and I left with nothing fixed. Took the Audi to Huntington and Huntington fixed everything in half a day. I told Legend I wanted a FULL refund for everything I paid them. I said we could take the easy way or we can take the hard way. Apparently Legend wants to take the hard way which I am fine with because they refuse to issue a FULL refund for all services. I still find it absolutely absurd that they wanted to CHARGE me for brakes when I was entitled to free brakes from Audi. Well I know why they wanted to charge me because they probably make more money selling items vs. doing warranty repairs. But what pisses me off the most is the brakes that I PAID FOR were still the same crappy brakes that Audi of America says NOT to use. Legend even had the nerve to tell me that the squeaking brakes are "normal" based on driving conditions and cold weather. Normal eh? So normal that Audi of America has identified a problem with the brakes and are issing a FREE fix? Legend Audi says the TSB is only good for vechicles up to 12000 miles, but this is not the case since Audi of Huntington was able to apply the TSB and this TSB is ALL OVER THE INTERNET. All you have to do is a google search of "Audi TSB 2027636" and you will find all the info you need about my problem. Not a single post about a 12k mile restriction from Audi or any customer out there saying the dealer wouldn't apply the TSB. I WILL get all my money back after disputing on my credit card and a few emails to the Audi CEOs in Germany along with a negative survey for every trip I went to this dealer. I also have emails of a number of high executives for Audi of America that I will be contacting today. The Service Manager Scott is probably the biggest crook out of all of the people there as he basically lied throughout the entire process. And I am not surprised because every time either myself or my wife was at the Service desk, there were other customers in there also complaining about other items (like how one guy got scammed on the extended Warranty Legend sold him, and another lady saying that none of her cellphones will connect to the bluetooth on her Audi). AVOID Legend Audi. More
I am furious with the dishonesty of the service department at Legend Volkswagen. I took my car in for service 2 weeks ago and it cost me $650 to repair my cooling system. The next day, my car tells department at Legend Volkswagen. I took my car in for service 2 weeks ago and it cost me $650 to repair my cooling system. The next day, my car tells me I still need service. Last night, the check engine light comes back on. I brought it in and was told there is an evaporation leak which would cost $850. I thought this was strange considering I had just brought the car in and it had apparently been fully inspected (they recommended brakes and such as per the usual from shady dealership service departments ... i can visually see my brakes are fine for at least another 8,000 miles). Anyway, I did not pay the exorbitant price and instead, called my friend who has a pretty good understanding of vehicles. He told me to tighten the gas cap, and voila! Check engine light is now off. Now either the service department is full of imbeciles who couldn't figure out to perform this simple procedure, or, they were trying to rob me of $850. Do not bring your vehicle to this service department unless you want to throw cash into the trash. More
Quality of service was horrible. After car was serviced, other problems occurred because they did not have appropriate quality checks. Asked to speak to service manager, he was busy...never got back to me. other problems occurred because they did not have appropriate quality checks. I called ahead to make an appointment to have my one-year-old leased Jetta serviced and inspected at its 10,000 mile mark. I was told to come in at 9:30 a.m. and I told them I was staying with the c one-year-old leased Jetta serviced and inspected at its 10,000 mile mark. I was told to come in at 9:30 a.m. and I told them I was staying with the car since I had no way home. When I arrived at 9:30, Dawn reiterated again that I would be staying with the car and they would try to have me "in and out in no time." Well three, yes 3, hours later, I was finally leaving. My car sat in front of the building for two hours while I read my newspaper waiting. I finally went to ask and she said they were moving it in and when the papers came out, she'd come to get me. I waited and then asked her again about my car, explaining that I have a second VW Jetta one-year-old to bring in on Thursday for the exact same thing. What can I do not to wait? Can I come in at 7 a.m.? Well, she said, no one will be here at 7 a.m. but you can come at 7:30 a.m. and the mechanics start at 8 a.m. and there is only one other car at that time. Well, time kept ticking by. Now I was on the 2 1/2 hour wait. I asked her again if there was another way to do this; can I drop my car off the night before? Yes, she said and handed me an envelope for the keys. I asked about my car. She said they were washing it and it would be right out. I waited outside, no car. I went back in and as I came in, she went out the back door. Another woman sitting at her computer said, "I think she went for your car." So I went back outside. Still no car. I started to walk around the back but came back into the office. At that point a service man came in carrying keys and I asked if they were mine. "Oh, I don't know," he said, and handed me the keys without asking for ID or anything. Luckily it was my car at 12:30 p.m. and guess what? It wasn't washed! So what was I waiting for? And there was a courtesy car sitting right out front but no one bothered to ask if I wanted to use it. Here's what Honda did for my husband the next day for his car being inspected: greeted him by name under a tent, wrote his ticket and sent him inside, asked if he was staying and if so did he want a doughnut and coffee, asked if they could take him back to his office in a courtesy van, and picked him up. Honda has SERVICE; this dealership DID NOT! More
I have serviced my volkswagen GTI in a few dealerships locally, and my experience has never been greater or more pleasant then my dealings with Legend. The service advisors Dawn and Robert are always very locally, and my experience has never been greater or more pleasant then my dealings with Legend. The service advisors Dawn and Robert are always very knowledgeable and go above and beyond to help me. Whenever i call to make appointments for sercice the receptionist Jasmine always is willing to help work around my difficult schedule, even offering shuttle rides to work or my home. This dealership is very busy so even the manager Edward or Tara would get on the phone with me to give me updates or explain the concerns. Sometimes the technicians will also get on the phone or even take a drive with me in my car to help me better understand whats going on. I will only service my car with Legend because they are the best, and strongly recommend anyone who loves their car as much as I do to do the same. More
We leased a Volkswagen Passat and there have been continuous problems. Brought in for recall "fix" and it came back with electrical problems. Tried to get another appt to repair. You call, they say continuous problems. Brought in for recall "fix" and it came back with electrical problems. Tried to get another appt to repair. You call, they say they will call back to schedule an appt. They never do, so you call again and again. Finally, we got an appt. brought the car there at 7:30 AM on a weekday. Called & called to get update, said they were still checking (really believe they didn't check car yet). Car was there overnight and entire next day. Told us they "don't provide loaners". Car ultimately was in for 2 1/2 days, never repaired - finally said they had to order a part. 3 weeks later, rcvd call, part was in. When we cb, nobody knew anything about it (that was when you got a person, not automated message). Woman who called and lm said she had no idea. Now, entire navigation system has also gone out and still unable to get appt. Finally, called Sunrise Volkswagen and we are going there. Apparently, they only care about their Audi customers - don't purchase/lease a Volkswagen thru this dealer - this has been the "worst experience" ever with a dealer. Have spent $300.00 so far on rental cars ourselves and no repair on the V. More
