Hello BobbieandJamie, We truly understand your frustrations, as we feel them too. VW allots a certain amount per day for a loaner/rental vehicle, and we have to work within those parameters, if you call VW and they provide more money to you for your particular situation and we have confirmation from them, we again will do whatever we can to get you what you need with what is available. We understand you are in a midsize SUV, and we did everything in our power to get you in that vehicle to keep you in something that could handle your family and lifestyle. The car and chip shortage not only effects everyone with the selling of vehicles, but also limits us in the loaner cars we have available, either from the dealership or from Hertz, it is a global problem and we are all at the mercy of it. We truly wish we could make the part appear for you, but like everything in the world right now, it is backordered. We take no pleasure in keeping you from your vehicle, and would love to return it to you completely repaired, clean, and running as good as it can. Once the part comes in we will work diligently and efficiently to get you your car back so you and your family can drive with safety and ease. We truly appreciate you as our customer and we are doing all that we can with what we are provided with. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

This does not solve my problem the midsize SUV does NOT have enough seating for my family needs. I don’t care about the recall. I care about being able to drive a car comparable to the vehicle I lease from you. It’s simple math. I lease a 7-passenger vehicle. You provided me a smaller 5-passenger vehicle. This does NOT meet my needs

In addition, to your point of calling VW, we have a case # with Corporate and they said it is the DEALSHIP’S discretion to approve the larger vehicle. This has nothing to do with shortages. It has to do with the $50/day rental contract you have with Hertz and you don’t want to pay the difference in a comparable car to what I lease!!

BobbyamdJamie, As we have stated our hands are tied, we don’t physically have anything to give you, the world is in a vehicle shortage and third rows are quite hard to come by. You have our largest available loaner vehicle. VW will not speak to us on their allotment of funds on your policy, it is a protection of your personal information, you have to call them to see if they will provide you and us with a larger vehicle, if there is even one they have available. Please understand we are doing all we can with what we have. Your car is not available for you at the moment to give back to you safely, and that is our first concern, you and your family's safety. We are truly trying our hardest, to do everything that we can for you, with what we have. We are all at the mercy of the car shortage, chip shortage, employment statuses and trucking; service, sales, parts, all industries and manufacturers are all effected. You are giving me the runaround. Corporate said it is YOUR discretion. Hertz said they CAN give me a bigger car but it costs more!! So you’re not telling the truth here. There IS a car available. You won’t pay for it! Corporate has NOTHING to do with this. We already called. They said they we need to handle this w the dealership. Stop playing the martyr here. We’ve had it.

We are on a waiting list for you.
