Here's what I discovered when I looked into your situation: Just as you've described, your sales person said your credit would be run as a soft inquiry, when in fact it was a hard inquiry. He was wrong and is now embarrassed, but we don't believe he lied. The process we had in place for you aligns with our normal protocol.
