I am giving the Bob Baker Toyota Dealership in Lemon Grove CA a very high rating because they have mastered the art of customer service. We bought a Certified Corolla S for me last July 10. I could not believe I would be able to buy that beautiful car, but Paul with his uncanny ability to connect with people worked some kind of financial magic that showed us how we could buy the car. I drove off with that fine car that day much encouraged to get out and get a job again. (Within one week, I found a well-paying job as a caregiver in San Diego after being off work due to transportation problems for 2 years.) In October, the Silverado pickup my husband had been driving for several years needed substantial repair work. I told my husband we should go back to Toyota and see if they could work some magic for us instead of pumping more money into the Silverado. The Manager offered us a good price for my husband's Silverado pickup ($4000);the money was leveraged as a down payment on a 2006 Tacoma pickup. The Manager,his wife, Tracy and a very patient accountant, Eli and others helped complete the deal for us. We were very happy with our vehicles and able to pay and on time with my new job. I had twice witnessed the Toyota team in action. Seamless! BUT, this is not the end of the story. On Nov 23, my sleep-deprived husband ran off the highway on a mountain road,crashing into a boulder. He was not seriously injured thanks to the airbag in the steering wheel but his prized Tacoma pickup truck was totalled. ARGHH! What a blow to us, to our livelihood and peace of mind. Fortunately, the Manager at Bob Baker Toyota had encouraged my husband to get gap insurance; he had done so. That made all the difference. The Tacoma pickup was paid off through our Geico insurance plus the Toyota gap plan. However, my husband still needed transportation to get back to work. We went back to Paul at Toyota sales and asked him if they could do anything to help us get another certified vehicle. We thought they probably would not be able to since we had no money for a down payment. However, Paul showed us a beautiful NEW Toyota Matrix. Oh, my God! we really liked the car but could not see how we could get it.. Paul went back to his office as we test drove the Matrix. When we got back he came back with a stack of papers and showed us how we could buy the Matrix with no money down! We were stunned. Paul once again was able to help us work out something we could live with. The payments will be high since no down, but everything else is as before. I have a car and my husband now has a car again too. We agreed that I would get the Matrix which has advanced saftely features to use in my work with elderly clients More

I went to Bob Baker Toyota a couple of nights ago just to kill some time and really had no intention of buying a car. I was approached by Carlito on the new car lot and upon seeing him approach, I immediate kill some time and really had no intention of buying a car. I was approached by Carlito on the new car lot and upon seeing him approach, I immediately had my "Oh no, here we go" attitude. Much to my surprise, Carlito was laid back and completely want against the stereotypical high pressured car salesman. At the same time, he was extremely helpful and informative. I did not walk out with a car that night, but for various reasons returned over the next two days and drove off with a Toyota Corolla S today. Mario Lupinacci and his staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and that I left as a happy Toyota customer, which I did. I can't say enough about Mario's professionalism and that of his staff. One thing I noticed is that this dealership is trying hard to break the stereotypes associated with new and used car sales, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend Bob Baker Toyota if you are in the market for a new car. More

The staff with their customer service is top notch. Trudy is right on the mark. When I call to schedule maintenance for my car she always remembers who I am & things we have talked about in the past. The staff from the offices to the ones on the lot selling the cars are very professional but still have the "What can I do for you today to take care of business". After having terrible experiences at Mossy and Toyota of San Diego we walked into Bob Baker feeling very defeated. These guys are amazing. The other places jerked us around and we will be rating them as well. These guys were great. We bought a car there years ago and I can't remember why we didn't go back there first but we will next time. Great follow up as well. The finance guy was awesome too (I can't recall his name, but he was efficient and to the point). I have told everyone how great Bob Baker Toyota is, and I hope they get more business because of it. He offered me a RAV 4 that was on the lot for a very excellent price. This vehicle had everything I wanted and more, however the color was not right for me, so I did not buy that day. Ernie Palmejar explained that he could probably locate the exact color and leather combination that I wanted and offered me a great price. My wife and I decided to try the other dealers in town and see if we could find the right car ourselves... Too make a long story short... the other dealers made lots of promises but could not deliver the exact car we wanted at a fair price. I was very frustrated and felt that I had wasted a lot of time on false promises. I called Ernie the following Tuesday @ 2 pm and told him I was ready to buy. He He located a RAV 4 at a distant dealership, drove it, and personally had it ready for me @ 8 pm that evening. Virgil reviewed my credit application, explained all the paperwork, and got me an exellent loan rate. The entire experience was efficient, courteous, and professional. My only regret is that I wasted so much time at the other 4 dealerships. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this dealership to my friends and family... More
