Lets Start off with this FANTASTIC DEALERSHIP!!!!!I have bought many a cars in my lifetime but the one thing that stood out to me about Landers Mclarty Dodge was when I pulled up(THEY ACTUALLY LET ME TAKE A bought many a cars in my lifetime but the one thing that stood out to me about Landers Mclarty Dodge was when I pulled up(THEY ACTUALLY LET ME TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO LOOK AT CARS WITHOUT 100 SALESPEOPLE RUSHING ME) Frank Williams who is actually the General Manager at this dealership was very involved along with his whole staff if someone did not know the answer to my question one of the salespeople there were more than willing to help its not like im not getting paid so we will let that salesperson worry about it.I am now the proud owner of my very first 2010 Toyota Venza thanks to the ENTIRE TEAM at Landers Dodge the only problem you will have at this dealership is there are quite a few new salesman there that are still learning but they bent over backwards to accomadate me and my family let this team mesh together for a while and this could end up being one of the best dealerships in huntsville to shop at they were there to assist me in buying a car not one person was there to SELL me a car............THANK YOU LANDERS MCLARTY FOR CARING..... The Landers McLarty Dodge dealership in Huntsville is probably the worst car buying experience that I have been a part of. I took my stepson to Huntsville to purchase a vehicle on the Fourth of July. I t probably the worst car buying experience that I have been a part of. I took my stepson to Huntsville to purchase a vehicle on the Fourth of July. I took him to the Landers Mclarty dealership and purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry SE. I left from the dealership after all the preliminaries had been taken care of and my stepson stayed and signed all the paperwork because he was buying the vehicle. A week went by and I called the dealership and asked about paperwork to buy a tag. The lady at Landers told me all I needed was to take the paperwork showing the purchase of the vehicle to the courthouse. I did that the next day and the courthouse could not issue a tag because the paperwork I had was not what they needed to issue a tag. That evening my wife came to me after I was in bed and said a guy named Mike was going to repo the Camry if she did not sign as a cosigner on a loan with our son. I then told her to call them the next day and take the car back to them. My wife took the next day off work and drove to Huntsville with our son and the Camry. She talked to Mike Shnefield when she got there. She gave him the keys and said she needed to get the check for three thousand dollars back from him.He said he couldn't do that. She asked for the keys to the car back and he told her it wasn't her car. She told him that the three thousand dollar down payment was also not his money. He said the check had not cleared the bank which it had cleared the bank two days before. Long story short it took my wife 3 hours and a day off to clear up something that never would have happened at a reputable dealer. You don't make mistakes and then tell the customer that they are at fault because of your mistakes. Landers McLarty needs to take a look at their dealership because they really have some issues. I do not recommend this dealer to any one. I'm sure they have some people working there that are great folks. If you leave your rotten apples in the basket with your good ones sooner or later they all spoil. More
I called the dealership and their internet page said they had a car in stock. I even called to confirm that the car was there. Nania said they have the specific car. This was around 3pm, so we drove over had a car in stock. I even called to confirm that the car was there. Nania said they have the specific car. This was around 3pm, so we drove over an hour to see this car. We got there and waited over 45 minutes to find out that the car was not there. Then they drove us to an overflow lot and tried to sell me a more loaded white car. They had a Tungsten car (more loaded though) and it took forever to get the keys. I am still not happy that they told me the car was there but it was not. We sit in the negotiating office about three hours and they did offer a reasonable amount on my trade but did not offer anything other than the 1000.00 rebate on theirs. I told them I would just prefer the car I was looking for. They said they could have the car I wanted by the next day. I asked again about the price of this car and was not given one but they would give me a good deal. Next day rolls around and another dealer had the car and over the phone gave me a great deal on my trade and the car I was looking for. This dealer told me that car would probably be there by night and I would be called. Well no call so I got the other car because the other dealer actually had it and made me a great deal. The next day this dealer calls me to come and get the car, I told them to go ahead a sell it, I found a better deal. They got mad and then the Sales Manager called back and was really short with me. I will never buy anything from this dealer. Beside this dealer not knowing what cars he has and the rudeness I forgot to add that on the more loaded car that I did not want he told me that there won't be much off as theses cars sell so good he can get what he wants. He also told me they sell 400 cars a month. Yeah Right! He said the economy never affected them, they sell 8 to 9 cars a day easy and well over 20 on the weekend. More
We reached out to this company over Memorial Day weekend by email. Jodie (internet manager) was the person working with us. I told her what I was looking for and she said that she could definitely get it fo by email. Jodie (internet manager) was the person working with us. I told her what I was looking for and she said that she could definitely get it for us. I told her that I already had financing available and would be at their dealership once the finance check came in a few days later. We emailed and spoke over several days and I spoke with her on Tuesday to let her know that the finance check had come in. She asked if I could come in that day and she would have the vehicle on the lot (they had to go get it from another dealership). I told her it would be Wednesday before I could get there. She asked if 11:00 was okay. I told her that would be fine. We live almost 3 hours away and left early Wednesday morning to go pick up the vehicle. When we got there, we waited an hour before someone came to see us. Jodie passed us off to a salesman who had no idea what was going on with us. We waited and waited and waited, all the time thinking the vehicle was on the lot. Well, it turns out they never even went and got the vehicle. They said they could get it on the lot by the evening. However, I explained to them again that I live almost 3 hours away and could not sit around and wait all day. They agreed to have the vehicle to my house by that evening. By the way, once Jodie passed us off to the sales guy, we never saw or heard from her again. We called the sales manager (Darrin) that evening to see what time and he said that they hadn't actually secured the vehicle yet. I called back a few minutes later upset, and he said that they had now secured it and would have a driver go to Georgia the next morning at 6 am to get it and bring it directly to my house. I called the next day starting at 8:30 am up until 11:00 am, never getting Darrin to call me back during that time. He finally called me back after 11:00 to let me know that the driver was on his way to get the car and that I should have it at my house by 6 PM that evening and that he would call if it was going to be later. It got to be 6:30 PM that evening. Still no car. The driver who was bringing my vehicle called about 6:30 or 7:00 pm and said that he was still over 2 hours away and that it would be closer to 9 or 10 before they could get the car to me and is there a better exit to get off that would be closer. ??? I only live off of one exit. There is no magic exit that will make a 2 hour drive a 5 minute drive. Basically, he wanted us to go meet him. Also, it would be dark by now and there was no way I was taking a vehicle from someone in the dark without inspecting it first. I called Darrin and explained the situation to him. He was speechless. Couldn't say why the driver was going to be almost 5 hours late. I told him that I was going to go with a different dealership and that he could have his driver just return the car back to their dealership. He did not seem happy. We then called a different dealership that was able to locate the exact same kind of car and had it on the lot for us by the next day when we went and purchased it. This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a car dealership. They knew beginning on May 28th what we were looking for. They were supposed to go get the car on Tuesday, May 31st for us. They didn't go get it until Thursday, June 2nd. There was no communication between anyone. The Internet Sales Manager and Dealership Sales Manager were so unprofessional. I will NEVER work with them again. More
