I got my car back to Land Rover of Redwood City, for services , luckily Ernesto, took car of my car , he’s very nice, it’s been working there many years, super knowledgeable! Up Dated review. I purchased a 2019 Cadillac Escalade from them in May of 2023. I was told that the car was checked out and ready to go. I paid cash and when I was w I purchased a 2019 Cadillac Escalade from them in May of 2023. I was told that the car was checked out and ready to go. I paid cash and when I was with the financial officer, I questioned a dent insurance that was included in the price of the car and said I didn’t want it and I was told that all sales included this insurance and was led to believe that if I wanted the car I had to pay for the insurance. The cost of the insurance was $995.00. I was also over charged $562.85 in sales tax. When I discovered the sales tax over charged and brought it to the attention of the sales manager Eric, it was refunded. After bringing up what I was told about the dent insurance it was also refunded. Upon driving home, I realized there was something really wrong with the suspension on the car. I live 150 miles from this dealer so I took the Escalade to the local Cadillac dealer and it was found that the right rear shock and the left front strut were seized up. Both had oil all over them. For the car to be safe to drive they had to be replaced. The repair was $4531.71. The shocks and struts have electronic ride control built in and are therefore rather expensive. I called Eric and ask if they would pay for the repair because I was told by them the car was completely checked out. In the end Eric said that they would pay me $500.00 towards the repair. After numerous calls and promises I have yet to receive the $500.00. After nine months I have given up. 03/07/2024 Thank you, Erick and Terry! I have received the $500.00 check. I have raised my review from two stars to four stars. I cannot give five stars because I feel the issue should have been caught by the service dept. When I arrived at the dealership to pick up the car, I was greeted by Darren James whom I had dealt with on the phone. I had purchased the car over the phone. Darren and the staff at Land Rover Redwood City made me feel very welcome. I always felt like Erick was on my side, but did not have the final say on the repair refund. Response from the owner a day ago Steven, we humbly apologize for the delay in getting your check to you. I have no idea what may have happened to the first check, but I've gotten with Erick and he has resubmitted the request. It has been approved and sent to our finance office to be cut. We have requested that it be expedited so it will be sent 2-day FedEx. Depending on when it gets picked up, you should have your check by Thursday or Friday. Thank you so much for your patience. The team at Land Rover Redwood City was incredibly helpful. They were kind, patient, and very supportive when I threw all my questions their way. Purchased a used Audi from this dealership. Worst experience ever, and I have bought over 75 cars in my lifetime. I live out of state, and getting the prior title was a nightmare. Every time I inqui experience ever, and I have bought over 75 cars in my lifetime. I live out of state, and getting the prior title was a nightmare. Every time I inquired (via email or phone call), I had to leave a message and wait a couple of days for a reply, if they even bothered to reply. They finally said they sent the title to my state's department of motor vehicles electronically. I contacted the department of motor vehicles and they said this was impossible, they do not have systems set up to receive titles electronically from out of state. So I attempted to contact the dealer again, and after multiple attempts was told they could not send me the title, but would have to mail it to my state's department of motor vehicles. My state is not set up to handle it that way, and it is not possible to call the local branch. So I had to go to the local branch, wait in line, and explain the situation. The manager at the branch agreed to call Land Rover Redwood City and give them her name and address. She did so and told me she would call me when the title was received. I emailed the dealership asking for the tracking # of the package 3 times and they did not respond. The local department of motor vehicles finally received the title a week later and called me. The whole process took over a month. You would think after selling me the car, they would have explained how they wanted to handle the title, but they did nothing until my repeated attempts to get this resolved. They should have realized they couldn't send it electronically and contacted me to resolve how to handle the title, but instead I had to harass them to get the title sent, and my emails and inquiries were repeatedly ignored.
