BOTTOM LINE: DON’T COME HERE. DRIVE THE EXTRA 20 MIN TO LAND ROVER TYSONS! My range rover had a gear box fault and had to be towed in to be repaired. I told the service departmen DRIVE THE EXTRA 20 MIN TO LAND ROVER TYSONS! My range rover had a gear box fault and had to be towed in to be repaired. I told the service department to analyze the issue and get the car back into a drivable state. The first set of repairs they diagnosed was a battery replacement and a gear shifter replacement. They charged me a total of $933 for the battery and the labor to replace it. At AutoZone, the battery costs $258 and replacing it simply involves removing the spare tire. Needless to say, Land Rover Bethesda grossly overcharges. After this first set of repairs, I was informed that the car was still broken and that the next step was to replace the valve body for $6,291. Since I was told the car was still broken, my only option was to approve the next repair. After two months at the dealer, I pick up my car and am going through the $9,400 bill when I notice that in the notes section the mechanic noted that the car was test driven and it drove approximately 15 miles with no issues aside from the check engine light staying on after the first set of repairs. Land Rover Bethesda purposely did not inform me that the car was driving after the first set of repairs. They did this because they knew this information would have caused me to not approve the next $6291 repair, and their sole focus is to try and squeeze the most amount of money possible out of the customer. I confronted the service manager on this situation, and he responded by saying “the car probably wouldn’t have made it far without replacing the valve body for $6291.” This may have been true, or it may not have been, it’s a total guess on the dealers part, but it is my right as the customer to be given all the facts about the current situation to make a clear and informed decision on approving repairs that cost thousands of dollars. Withholding information to coerce the customer to spend more money is extremely fraudulent behavior and is exactly the experience I had at Land Rover Bethesda. Sadly, my experience is not a one-off event that happened just to me. My father has bought three range rovers from this dealership. He loves the car, and wanted to buy another one, but recently bought a Mercedes because of how horrible his experiences have been at this dealership. Having read about my story, I hope you take my advice, learn from my experiences, and go to a different Land Rover dealer. I literally couldn’t be any worse. More

I recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealership as an out-of-state buyer. I understand that with a used car, there may be wear and tear — and I don’t expect perfection. My issue is not that the vehicle had a problem, but in how the dealership chose to handle (or not handle) the situation once it was brought to their attention. I am giving 2 stars because I am happy with my new car and do wish I could stay in the happy bubble instead of dealing with this frustration. Upon receiving and driving the car, I noticed ann expensive issue — a cracked rim. I contacted the dealership right away, expecting at the very least some guidance or willingness to assist. Instead, I was directed to their inspection report (completed 21 days prior to me receiving the car) and to speak with management. I’ve reached out to them, and have not received a response. This review isn’t about the fact that the car had a problem — it’s about the lack of customer service, and post-sale support. If you’re considering purchasing from here, especially from out of state, I strongly urge you to have your own third-party inspection done right before purchase, no matter what reports they provide. I’m posting this in hopes it saves someone else the same frustration and as a reminder about getting your own inspections. More

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Dealership I brought my vehicle to the Land Rover dealership in Bethesda, MD, for repairs due to the check engine light being on. After each visit, I was told the issue w my vehicle to the Land Rover dealership in Bethesda, MD, for repairs due to the check engine light being on. After each visit, I was told the issue was resolved, only for the check engine light to come back on the same day I picked it up. Instead of properly diagnosing and fixing the issue from the start, the dealership kept insisting it was a different problem each time, recommending additional (and costly) repairs. This cycle repeated several times with no lasting fix — just more charges and growing frustration. It feels like nothing more than a money grab, and the service team either lacks the expertise to repair vehicles or is taking advantage of customers. While the front desk staff was very friendly and professional, the Service Director, George Sans, was the complete opposite. He was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional throughout the process. Dealing with him only made the situation worse. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone seeking honest, skilled, or respectful service. More
