Worst experience with car sales EVER! I came in to purchase and left as we could not deal. Got a phone call the following morning and we were able to come to an agreement on the purchase I came in to purchase and left as we could not deal. Got a phone call the following morning and we were able to come to an agreement on the purchase of a new Jeep. I took PTO for half a day to come finish up the process in person. 5 minutes after I let them know I was on the way, I recieved a phone call telling me the Jeep we have been discussing is in the port but rest assured they would have it delivered to me the next day. I said no problem, I'll be there soon to sign paperwork. When I arrived I was greeted and left sitting for over 30 minutes without any explanation. When someone finally asked me if I had been helped I explained I didnt know what the hold up was. 5 min later I was sat down and told the Jeep we agreed on was sold. I firmly believe they knew at the very least when I got the phone call there was no Jeep anymore. Yet still had me come in to try to sell me on something else. They did have an alternative ready to go for more $$ but at that point I was no longer interested. I did try to make an offer on another deal we previously discussed for $1500 less than what their last offer was. They declined and I left. The next day I got a text with the same offer I walked out on the previous evening thanking me for the chance to earn trust back. I explained they had done nothing to earn any trust back and I was already working with a different dealer. I politely asked to be removed from their contact list. I recieved several more texts telling me to make sure I get the same as what they were willing to do, "challenged" me to find a better offer, sent me a link to make sure I knew, then looked up not only where I went to make the purchase but also what I bought to make sure I knew they were going to do better. Their "deal" may have been more bang for the buck if looking dollar to dollar, BUT I think the part this dealership is missing is the relationship with the customer. I am 10x more happy after traveling 2.5 hours away and being treated with kindness, respect, and HONESTY. I should have looked at other reviews before wasting my time here as its clear I am not the first with this experience. Reading the responses to their negative reviews gives you a clear idea of how they react when someone is displeased. Zero customer satisfaction. More
Disappointed and Frustrated with the Experience Our experience started off positively. The staff seemed helpful and accommodating, which is exactly what you'd hope for when making a major purchase like experience started off positively. The staff seemed helpful and accommodating, which is exactly what you'd hope for when making a major purchase like a vehicle. We found a 2025 Jeep that my wife really liked. After discussing it overnight, we contacted the dealership the next morning to move forward. We were told the Jeep was at the port and could be delivered to our home the following day with the requested upgrades. Based on that assurance, my wife took the afternoon off from work and drove over an hour to the dealership to finalize the paperwork. Upon arrival, she waited for approximately 30 minutes before being informed that the Jeep had already been sold. Instead of a solution, she was presented with a different vehicle, one she didn’t want and at a higher price point. Naturally, the excitement we had for the purchase turned into frustration. Not only was her time wasted, but she also lost income from missing work. She did have a backup option, but the dealership wouldn’t budge on a $1,500 difference to make the deal work, even though the alternative vehicle was $10,000 more than the original one we had committed to. My wife and I absolutely needed that $1500 to stay in our "NEW" price point, after they sold the original Jeep that was promised. I called the dealership to try and discuss the matter and was met with an uncooperative attitude from Ben, because they wouldn't transfer me to the General Manager, after I asked. Ben was also the employee who made the mistake with the promised Jeep, (His words). It became clear that the dealership (Ben, and the GM) were more interested in standing firm on a price difference than making things right after their own error. The bottom line is this: my wife took time off work and made two trips to the dealership, only to be told the vehicle we were promised was no longer available. Rather than owning the mistake and providing good customer service, the team chose not to resolve the issue in good faith. Refusing a $1,500 concession for another vehicle after a mistake of this magnitude shows a lack of concern for customer satisfaction. In today’s world, where referrals and reviews are everything, this approach is incredibly short-sighted. If you’re considering this dealership, be aware that they may sell the same vehicle twice, make junior level mistakes, and show little regard for the time or trust of their customers. *UPDATE* Their scheduling department just called us 2 hours later to see if we were coming in for our appointment with Ben to do some paperwork. So like I said, junior level mistakes. *UPDATE #2* Next Day Found the same Jeep with our preferred options, different size engine which wasn't on our want list, at another dealership, who was great to work with, and it was cheaper. Lakeland has continued to text my wife after she has asked twice now for them to take her off their communication list, which constitutes harassment, offering her the same deal she walked away from yesterday. She already informed them that she was buying a Jeep at a different dealership. They decided to look up which dealership (on their own) to prove to my wife that she wasn't getting the same deal. That's seems alittle "stocker-like". At this point she was already on her way home, after driving 2 and half hours away to pick up her new Jeep. If Lakeland didnt make the mistakes they made, she would be driving their Jeep right now. Their tone of "text" is not apologetic or sympathetic in anyway, more like very aggressive and condescending. Obviously defending their stance instead of apologizing and making up for their mistakes takes priority over customer satisfaction. If you read the other 1 star reviews, this is not the first time this situation has happened. Lastly, to add some context of tone to the text messages my wife has been receiving from them, read their responses to their other 1 star reviews. More
