Pleasurable Experience I would definitely return to buy another vehicle from Lafontaine in the future. There are closer dealership's ( 80 mi. round trip ) but none that come I would definitely return to buy another vehicle from Lafontaine in the future. Disappointment. Drove 4 hours from Cincy, OH (SE, IN) to purchase a used Jeep Wrangler I had been looking at online for over 1 month. Had cashiers check in hand. Ha Drove 4 hours from Cincy, OH (SE, IN) to purchase a used Jeep Wrangler I had been looking at online for over 1 month. Had cashiers check in hand. Had every intention of making the purchase. The sales person told us to try to keep the test drive to a 1/2 hr. We just drove 4 hrs and expected to give the vehicle a good look over and test drive before driving it 4 hrs home, especially a used vehicle. But with the time limit of a 1/2 hr, we didn't even get it to the HW. We noticed ice on the inside passenger's door where water had leaked in and daylight could be seen through the soft top and the door. Not the biggest deal. The concern was the noise we were hearing over the engine that could be felt in the clutch pedal. Something just wasn't right. Then the engine light came on. Took it back. Told the sales person the issues. He told us there was a couple hundred they could negotiate but they had 2K into it and offered to refund my $500 deposit for holding it and to let them know if anything changes. Never offered to have the service department take another look at it or even run a scan on the engine light. Definitely disappointed after reading the favorable reviews about this dealership and being ensured by phone that they don't put vehicles on their lot that aren't to their standards. The asking price was just over $12700 which was at the top of the KBB suggested retail with a fair purchase price of $11115. There was almost an exact comparable in Monroe, MI for same list price and it had navigation...but it was green, I want white. I felt like they maybe thought they had the sale in the bag after mentioning more than once my driving from IN, and that I know what a good price it was. So overall I was disappointed with the vehicle's condition, the service or lack of in regards to looking into the issues we addressed and instead just stating their service department had given it the clear (was that 4 mths ago when it was taken in on trade)? ... And showing us the service department receipt for 2K in breaks and sensors etc? More
