I had a disappointing experience with this dealership and want to share my frustration to help other buyers. I was looking for a specific vehicle – an XL Yukon – and trusted the sales representative to be ho want to share my frustration to help other buyers. I was looking for a specific vehicle – an XL Yukon – and trusted the sales representative to be honest. However, the salesperson misrepresented the car, sending strategically chosen photos to hide the fact that the vehicle was not the XL model I wanted. I bought the car on good faith, sight unseen, and only realized the mistake once it arrived. Adding to the frustration, the dealership delayed the car’s shipping, further complicating the purchase process. When I contacted them about the mistake, they politely dismissed my concerns, saying it would be a ‘paperwork nightmare’ to swap out the vehicle. Rather than taking accountability, they chose to walk away from the issue, leaving me stuck with a car I didn’t want. Beware of purchasing from this dealership, especially if you’re buying sight unseen. It seems their sales team is more focused on closing deals than on transparent, honest communication with buyers. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone, particularly those making a long-distance purchase. More
I purchased my CERTIFIED used vehicle 2 years ago (July 1, 2022) from Lafontaine while it was still under warranty. 4 months after I purchased it my AC went out. I took it to Lafontaine Dearborn. They claimed to have found the problem but could not get to my vehicle for 3-4 weeks due to them being behind on repairs and had no loaners to provide to me. I tried all that year to get a loaner. 1 year after I purchased the vehicle my battery died, GM Roadside sent someone out to jump my car, I informed the tech they sent out that he was jumping my battery wrong and he caused my battery to blow and sulfuric acid leaked from the battery. I had to pay over $700 to get a new battery along with other work done to my vehicle. Mind you I STILL DID NOT GET MY AC REPAIRED! Now this year my car has been in the shop off and on since April/May because they still cannot fix the AC and when they replaced my Compressor and Condenser they thought they fixed it, it caused my car to seize and not start. GM sent their Roadside out AGAIN and AGAIN they tried to jump my car, I informed the tech that it doesn't need a jump because I just purchased a new battery from the dealership a year prior. They jumped it anyway and caused my fuse box to melt and my starter went out. Cost me $1,038! And my car is STILL in the shop, now the mechanic has found that my entire AC system is infested with BLACK MOLD! which per my mechanic is something that just didn't happen overnight it had to have been there when I bought the car and that that was the reason my AC went out and kept going out even after replacing the AC Compressor and Condenser. My car has been in the shop more than I have driven it and it has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars to fix! On top of that, the new battery that I purchased from Lafontaine Dearborn is no good per my mechanic and I will need to get a new battery once he finishes repairing my vehicle! I should not have had to have major repairs like this if this was truly a CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE I am beyond livid at this point, I will NEVER buy a car from Lafontaine let alone let them fix my car! I have sought legal representation regarding this matter More
Went Lafontaine Highland yesterday to pick up my new truck and they had prepped the wrong truck despite me providing them with the Vin # and stock # and description. Wasn't even the same trim level. Then they realized they couldn't get the correct truck ready so they gave me a car to drive home after being there for 2.5 hours. The car didn't have enough fuel to get me home. At no point during this did anyone other than the confused saleswoman approach me. The sales manager only called me after I cancelled my truck purchase. Now they have my authorization number attached to the wrong truck. XM and Onstar assigned to me also with a truck I never wanted. More
I inquired online about a truck they "had on site" Spoke with salesman a few times about coming out there to check it out. Once I arrived, truck had a recall and could not even look at the vehicle.
