I purchased a $50K ford truck a few years ago and because they did not have access to a fuel supplier, I left the dealership with the tank near empty. I have brought cars in for numerous repairs only to have to bring them back to have the repairs redone. The latest was a tire rotation where the service employee counter balanced the tires, basically achieving nothing. So go to this dealership only if you are retired and have all the time in the world to bring your vehicle back again and again. More

I bought 2 cars from this dealership (different sales persons) and each time something different went wrong. I decided on going to Cowel's "just to look" at 1130am one day, but after making contact with Brad my wife and I decided to trade a car in and buy a 3rd car from Cowels. Brad was quick and very good about moving things along. We went on my daughters birthday and told the sales manager we needed to leave the dealership by 5 so we could take my daughter out for her birthday. The sales manager and finance manager dragged there feet until 8pm.. We walked out with a car and a little annoyed, but Brad called us the next day and made everything ok. We then decided on trading in our 2013 mustang for a 2015 mustang, heres where it went from bad to really bad. we went in and spent Halloween in the dealership for about 6 hours for the sales manager to say, "hey its to soon to do a trade after just buying a brand new car, and the banks get nervous about taking back to back loans out". I respected that and left. 2 hours later while home the dealership called me and said please come back we can get you a deal. I drove back to the dealership spent several more hours at dealership to hear the sales manager say, you would need to put almost 50% down on the car because no bank would approve other wise. I left the dealership pretty angry that my time was wasted. I contacted Jerry's Ford about a vehicle that I wanted and learned that Cowels got a bank approval for 115% of the car I wanted. 100% for the new car and 15% to cover negative equity in the trade. Cowels NEVER EVER told me about the 115% or even came to me and said hey put $2,000 more down and we can make a deal. They let me walk out of the dealership after wasting my time and not meeting me half way. Jerry's literally involved me filling in a online credit app, The finance department calling the bank Cowels got me approved for, and coming down $1,000 from the MSRP to close the deal. I called the sales manager Danny after discovering what Jerry's told me and asked why they did that. He said come in and I will get you in a car today. So I drove to Cowel's AGAIN and watched the sales manager sell me and another person the same car. After the other person's finance went through first, Danny sent the finance manager over to tell us thats its sunday and they couldn't do anything. I got up and walked out with Danny in tow. He pleaded with me to let him order us a car after wasting 3 days of our time. I went the very next day to Jerry's Ford and within 2hrs I had keys in my hand and signing paperwork for my new car. After the dealings with Cowel's I took to Yelp and gave a very poor rating. The very next day Danny called my wife more upset about the Yelp review then acknowledging that he acted unprofessional and wasted our time. My advice to anyone looking for a Ford dealership is to look elsewhere. I called the GM of the dealership and no return call. The mismanagement obviously starts up top and trickle down to the sales/finance level. Go to Jerry's Ford, you won't regret it... • • • More

Dont stick with the agreements made from the beginning. They told me that the car will be paid without a downpayment and now after holding the car for month, Mr.Ray is telling us that they need a downpayment for X reason. Its ridiculous. We want to return the car. More

Cowles did for me what friends, family and sustained business relationships “would not”. I pinged the Cowles internet site for a few questions and was called back immediately by Ron Christopher, Internet Sales Rep (15 minutes before they closed for the day), He convinced me to visit Cowles Ford to test drive. I agreed as I felt it would save my “friends” time as they were saving me money…. Not so much. Ron introduced me to Araz Akraw (sales rep) to test drive units and go over numbers. Once I had all the numbers Araz and Carlos Ramos (Sales Manager) sat with me and did their best to convey Cowles commitment to customers, relationships, service and pricing. While this was demonstrated through their words and actions as well as full disclosure of pricing/rebates/incentives I remained steadfast to my due diligence process. I took vin and all numbers and bounced off the folks I knew. See the comments from my contacts who either own or run dealerships: Local Ford GM: “The figures don't add up. I had my sales manager run that truck and out the door at $42k and change would be a loss of between $2,800 and $3,800, I don't know why they would loose that much money. That same truck from me would be $44,850 out the door. I feel the price at Cowles may change when you are ready to buy. My prices are always the real price you will pay. I will be back in the office tomorrow first thing.” “I had my manager speak with owner on your F150 price. He can't believe it is so low. Even he can't touch that price. If anything changes let me know and I will be more than happy to help you but at that price we can't beat it.” Icing on the cake! Cynthia Hatcher, Finance Manager! Her tact, support, and strategies elevated her from a Finance Manger to Finance Advocate going the extra mile to ensure I was taken care of. She truly gets the “art behind the science” of her profession. End Result: Nothing Changed, Cowles Management honored all numbers, honored all rebates and financed without issue. They threw in some nice to haves, filled my tank and restored my faith in the car buying process! As a Marine I know, “Attitude Reflects Leadership”. There is no doubt in my mind the noteworthy service I received was due to a sustained effort by ownership, leadership, and managers executing their vision rooted in education, support, service, and most importantly INTEGRITY. Cowles has earned my business for life and I am encouraging you all to afford them the opportunity to earn your trust and confidence. More

Caution brothers and sister that military Do not shake their hands. If you go make sure they don’t play the game of good cop and bad cop. Avoid Arthur Lauw and Danny Kasonga as they will shake your hand and at the last minute add some fees to your deal. Please do not fall in there trap. I am a service member and they don't care if you served they are not going to give you a deserving deal. I am really disappointed because I waited 4 and half hours after test driving the vehicle to be told that they couldn’t go down $400.00. Shame! Shame! Shame! Arthur I hope you keep your reputation. I visited this dealer to look at Mustangs..wasn't sure if I ready to buy, but I wanted to check them out.. Initially, everything started out friendly and light but went downhill quickly...1.the car I sure if I ready to buy, but I wanted to check them out.. Initially, everything started out friendly and light but went downhill quickly...1.the car I came to see was sold, even though I had been contacted by someone later in the afternoon and explained to them that I was coming from Southern MD 2.I was given a very low figure for my trade-in (to be expected, so that we could negotiate) but when the sales guy tried to explain why the figure was so low, he accidentally showed me his inventory list with the prices, my same truck was being sold on their lot for 2x what they were willing to offer me..when I pointed this out, he became defensive and rude 3.i was kept waiting and waiting..i explained that I was only looking and could come back...i was assured that it would "worth my while" to stay because he was going to make me a great deal ( I guess they thought I was born yesterday)..when I said I didn't like their offer and would try another dealer..the Mgr(?) Allan came out to "talk" to me..instead he berated me, waved a paper in my face and asked me very rudely "what didn't i understand?" all the while cutting me off and not allowing me to ask questions, I asked why he was being so aggressive to me and to this i meet with an icy stare...all this took place in the showroom in front of employees and other customers...this was one of the rudest, most embarrassing experiences I have ever had...I am not sure of it was because I came in educated about my trade-in, my tattoos, or the fact that I am a woman...I have read other reviews about this dealer and they are mixed...I guess it depends on the day or person you happen to get...I will not be back, not will I advise anyone else to patronize this dealer...after I got up and walked out, I wasn't called back, which says to me that they know the way they treated me was wrong...I will try following up as much as I can to find out why I was treated this way...I plan to contact Ford as well.
