I specifically asked if the car had any rust or body damage and they assured me it did not. Drove over an hour with two toddlers to go purchase the car and is soon as they pulled around it was covered in rust and had body damage. They tried to twist it and make it seem like I misunderstood and obviously they blatently lied. Never go here. Buyer beware More

Called Ford who sent me back to have dealer take pictures of paint issue so they could review. Went back and again the service department blew me off and refused to take the pictures requested by Ford. More

So, I went to use DR when I researched Cowles Ford, and I almost cancelled my appointment to look at the car because of the feedback on here. The purchase experience was a good one. I'm a financial planner and my wife spent her formative years with her dad at the dealership, so we are "no-nonsense" type people. I walked in with the parameters of the deal, made it clear I had two other appointments to look at the same vehicle at other dealerships, and that we would be leaving within an hour and a half if we weren't pleased. Andre Graham (sales) took that to heart and, I think, did his best to meet our needs. The sales manager (can't remember his name) threw out, in typical fashion, the whole "oh I hope you DON'T buy this car because it is 'accidentally' priced too low and I'm losing money" to which I told him I'm happy to oblige because I have two other appointments after this, at which point he cut that nonsense out. Finance was just "OK"-it took a lot of run-around to get what I needed as the rep I worked with kept trying to tell me with a credit score in excess of 820 that I'd be paying almost 5% interest. It took a finance manager to come in and find a loan at just north of 2%. The positives: the car is WONDERFUL so far and has more features than were even listed online. It has been a blast to drive and we got a terrific deal that was fair on both sides, based on my research. Andre Graham was a very nice guy who seemed to respect the parameters of what I wanted, as well as my time while I was there. Andre also took care of a missing headrest in the backseat within 3 days. Really nice guy. The negatives: I made the appointment 24 hours before we were there. I should have pulled up and seen the car ready. It was "in the shop" for 45 minutes before we even saw it. This was a pure waste of time. The guys we dealt with above Andre were nice, but took them a while to get the job done. Overall, as of now, I would buy another vehicle from Cowles Ford. One recommendation: consider your DealerRater online presence. As I said above, it almost made me cancel my appointment. More

On our way to Myrtle Beach for vacation we were stranded on 95South. We drifted into Cowles Ford with a Ford, F350 dually, pulling a 40 foot toy hauler fifth wheel at 11:30am on Friday July 8th. Seeing the caravan of 5 RV's coming into the parking lot, a mechanic came out immediately to assess our situation. He knew exactly what was wrong, 2 screws sheered off the part that was just replaced from another Dealer. We then went it to speak to James MDowell about a repair. Wow!! He said he couldn't get to us until Saturday but maybe not even until Monday. WHAT!! I do think this was an emergency situation and James gave us no help whatsoever. LUCKILY Matt Norris stepped up and called other Ford dealers in the area. None could help us. He called rental truck places with no luck. Finally he found someone that could fix our truck that day but we had to get it 1 1/2 hours south. Thankfully they did fix the truck in 2 hours, $400 and we were on our way by 6:30pm. We are so grateful for Matt going that extra mile for us. If it wasn't for us pulling a 14000lb RV and 2 dogs we would have left the truck and rented something. We really felt let down by Ford. Not a happy Ford Truck owner. More

They were all about making the sale, but when we found out they overlooked issues with the vehicle that should have made it fail the state inspection they pointed blame elsewhere. The issues that were found were as follows; a bolt was left off the front wheel bearing, there is a major power steering leak, and several oil leaks. The dealership replaced the bolt (thankfully), but continue to deny there are any leaks when the mechanic has proved them to be there. Keith Franklin, the used car manager, accused the reputable mechanic shop of lying to us before they even looked at the vehicle. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. They provided me with an unsafe car that will likely cost me money to fix. More

They don't do loaners! You can rent a car and pay $250 security deposit or go pound sand. The service (I use that term loosely) have no idea how to communicate or repair. Infants with tools. Do yourself a favor, go to another dealer or another make. More

I met with Steve Martinez, salesman and Dan Kasonga, sales manager. After some back and forth we agreed on an “out the door” price of $29,900.00 for a new Fusion. Mr. Kasonga and I signed a contract for that price. The best price my brother could get for the same car in MA was $700.00 more than the Cowles price and he readily agreed to drive 500 miles and purchase this car from Cowles. I have purchased many new cars and in fairness I would say that the negotiating process between Mr. Martinez, Mr. Kasonga and me was very professional. The car arrived six weeks later and my brother drove down to Cowles to finalize the buying process. As soon as he arrived Carlos Ramos, sales manager, told him that a mistake had been made regarding the agreed upon price and stated that $175.00 additional was needed purchase the car. My brother, not wishing to prolong this process paid him the money, took possession of the car and returned to MA. Three days later he received a call from the Cowles finance manager who told him that another mistake had been made and that he owed an additional $500.00. My brother told him that he had already paid $175.00 more than the contracted price and would not pay any more. Three weeks later his tags had not arrived and he called Cowles Ford and spoke to James Edwards, sales manager. Edwards told him that he would not receive his tags or have his taxes paid until he sent them $500.00 more. As my brother had no choice, this “black mailing” tactic worked and he paid them $500.00. I have spoken to other car salesmen. Not one has ever heard of this filthy practice. As one told me, “When the customer takes possession of the car the only money paid by the customer is to the bank that financed the car.” As of today’s date Cowles management has not responded to two Better Business Bureau (BBB) inquiries regarding this despicable business practice and I doubt they will. In the past 15 yrs have bought new...2-150 trucks, 1-250 gas truck, 2-250 diesel trucks, 1 Fusion, 1 Edge and 1 used Contour. 8 Total vehicles. I saw a Explorer on line for internet price of $30,462 + tax, tag, destination fees..which would be approx. $32,600. UNLESS you have a trade, I looked up the black book price for my 2013 Kia Optima - $17,170 .Pay off on my Optima is $17,100. When they came back with the paperwork it was over $40,000. REALLY!! Only wanted to give me $12,500for the Optima. I said no thank you. Sales person said let me talk to the sales manager (who in 2011 when he was a salesman sold us 2 vehicles). He then gave me a price of $17,000 for my car but then took away the incentives. Brought it down to $37,600. Doesn't add up. The car is supposed to be on sale for $7000 of the MSRP price. AS returning customers thought we came to the right place to buy a vehicle. We were wrong. Don't lie to your customers and tell them we will give you what your want for your vehicle and the take away incentives. Will not be returning and will not recommend Cowles Ford to anyone. Sales person was nice. More

My truck has had all of its services done at Lustine Dodge. The vehicle is in very good running condition. The interior is in very good condition. The outside of the vehicle is has a dented rear bumper and scratches on the both the driver and passenger side. On KBB the trade in value in poor condition with that many miles is $12,500. The vehicle in good condition is $13,400. Carmax gave me an offer of $12,000 for the truck. My wife bought a new mustang at Cowles last year and I have had her and my daughters Fords serviced there so I felt that there was at least a good relationship. I truly felt that the dealership would give me a fair market assessment and would deal with me on good faith. Cowles Ford today offered me $7,500 for my 2009 Dodge Ram Big Horn edition. I couldn't believe how insulting this was. My wife and I are looking at purchasing a car for my daughter as she starts college this fall and it will not be at Cowles Ford and I will most definitively not be taking my business there again. More
