We were looking for a used Toyota Sienna, and had some pretty strict monthly payment limitations. We began our search online, and went to Koons to look at some Siennas. Our salesperson was very good at pretty strict monthly payment limitations. We began our search online, and went to Koons to look at some Siennas. Our salesperson was very good at listening to our needs and requirements, and was very low pressure, which we really appreciated. At one point, it was noticed that there was a stain on a floor mat, and two or three people examined it. We probably would have made a big deal about it, but we were given a new mat anyway. This attention to detail and focus on customer service and satisfaction is why we always think of Koons first when we're looking for a car. In fact, we'll have our van paid off this summer, and we'll be back to Koons for an upgrade:-) More
Why listen to me... b/c I'm a repeat buyer here, and have received service here for the past 8 years. They've earned my trust and won my business. This is my 7th Toyota in 40 years - a 2011 Hybrid Camry. received service here for the past 8 years. They've earned my trust and won my business. This is my 7th Toyota in 40 years - a 2011 Hybrid Camry. Previous Koons purchase is our 2008 RAV 4. Have had all service these past 8 years on these and a 2003 Camry all done at Koons Tysons Toyota. I do the homework before going anywhere, and when at Koons both you and they get the grade: A+. Their sales staff are attentive, eager to please and motivated. Their service staff listen and I don't have to repeat myself to express what appears the matter when I bring my cars in. Managers are exceptionally caring and willing to help - they want loyal customers. They support their sales and service staff to keep the cost I pay down. Their "100K miles owners specials" and their military discount for service are there for the asking. As a retired navy captain, I appreciate the bargains, and the respect I receive, and I'll continue to sing their praises. Here's an entry from my personal journal from last week when I purchased my 2011 Hybrid Camry, I may not be gifted in verse, so I'm glad I've got a day job, but my sentiments are sincere and true: High on my Hybrid, Crazy ‘bout my Camry, Keepin’ with Koons Driving my car, Flying our flag, singing your praises. This car’s not a drag. She’s a Toy, she’s a joy. She’s the real McCoy, and she makes no noise. She’s my green machine, and on gas she’s lean; low price? Obscene! Got her today; she’s mechanical gray. Watch me drive away. A delight to try it, efficient and quiet; and good for the planet. Buy a hybrid and zoom, and get her at Koons! What did you say man? See young Philip Clayman! I recently sold my vehicle outright to Koons Tysons Toyota. It was a Camry Hybrid that I had owned for 3 years. My husband and I are moving oversees and no longer need the vehicle. The entire staff Toyota. It was a Camry Hybrid that I had owned for 3 years. My husband and I are moving oversees and no longer need the vehicle. The entire staff treated us with the highest level of professionalism. We received "top dollar" for our trade and are tremendously happy. When we return to the US, we plan to purchase our next vehicle from Koons Tysons Toyota. More
I had such a terrible experience there. I had been speaking with both Alejandro and Amen on Saturday afternoon about purchasing a pre-owned Prius. I was very excited about this car, but of course felt speaking with both Alejandro and Amen on Saturday afternoon about purchasing a pre-owned Prius. I was very excited about this car, but of course felt I should negotiate the price because I had seen the same vehicle at other competitor lots for a lower price. The price I was presenting was $900 lower than the sticker price. Both Alejandro and Amen were very nice and helpful, but the pricing situation was out of their hands so they called over a sales manager. The manager, Andrew, came over and immediately gushed about how beautiful my smile was, blah blah blah, to butter me up. (I should mention I am single female, and came into the dealership alone.) The sales manager proceeded to feed me a ton of xx, for lack of better word, and basically indicated he would not budge off the price. When I told him I had reservations about that, because I had seen the car elsewhere for a lower price, he told me, If I couldn't afford the car to go somewhere else or choose another car. It was amazing how fast this man went from buttering me up to being incredibly rude and condescending. So, at this point I was ready to leave. Alejandro had been kind enough to drive me to the dealership from the metro station since I do not currently have a car. I asked if there was a shuttle that could drive me to Tysons mall...to which the sales manager shortly snarled that there was not one. So I asked if Alejandro could take me back to the metro then. He snapped that they were too busy for that. It's a good thing I had a friend in the area who came to pick me up, or else I suppose I would have been stranded there! I have never had such a negative car shopping experience. For whatever reason, Andrew found it necessary to not only insult my intelligence, but to speak to me in a manner as if he were talking to a child. I told Alejandro and Amen after he left, that I understood the position on the price. The car I was interested in was definitely priced the best in the area. I would have purchased the car that day. This sales manager ruined this sale when he clearly let me know he didn't need or appreciate my business. If he was willing to let me be stranded there with no way home, who knows what type of poor customer service I would receive after the sale. The one star I give this dealership is for Amen and Alejandro who I can say were friendly and helpful. I will never recommend anyone to go to Koons Toyota. PS- I found Andrew's behavior to be unacceptable and unethical, and I did reach out the management at Koons Toyota which went unanswered. Figures. More
My girlfriend was looking for a used car and after traveling most of MD and central VA i called Koons about a car. The Gentleman i spoke to, Steve Cox, was probably the best car dealer representative traveling most of MD and central VA i called Koons about a car. The Gentleman i spoke to, Steve Cox, was probably the best car dealer representative i have ever communicated with. Steve spent what must have been half a day trying to find a car they had online, only to find out it was sent to an auction the same morning. After some more talking we found a similar one that was about a half hour drive down the road at Koons Tysons Toyota. Steve is the used sales manager at Koons Arlington, so he put me in touch with one of his salesman named Sayed. After talking to Sayed to make sure this car was still there, and to set up a time to test drive we headed over to Tysons, which is about a 2 hour drive for us. Steve had Sayed take the keys and hold them for us, just to make sure no one had bought the car during our trip over. After getting off 95 we get a call from Sayed, apparently whoever listed the car online neglected the fact that the transmission was a 5-speed manual. We were about 10 min at this time so we decided to finish the trip and see what else they had on the lot. After arriving Sayed apologized several times for the confusion on the car, offered to show us the other inventory and asked if we needed anything, water etc. So after about a half hour of looking we found an 06 Jetta, sticker price said 12,900, i did a quick look online to see the car was listed for 12,400 online. They gave us that price no questions asked, they also gave us off for the radio having some severe paint chipping. Only downfall was that we had to get it MD inspected, which to me is not an issue as they are a VA dealer, so they dont have a MD state inspection Rep, and if you buy a used car from some dealers even in MD you would need the inspection. I will also say our loan official was a magician, he got her a better rate through Toyota financial than any banks we went through for pre-approval. I feel as if they did an outstanding job, even gave us a full tank of gas which most used dealers wont do these days. I would really like to thank Steve and Sayed as well for bending over backwards, not only to go to a dealership that was not their own but for also spending the time to show us the cars we looked at as well as sticking around for the entire time we did paper work. I would highly Recommend Koons to anyone looking for a used or new car. I will work with Steve in the future for my next auto purchase, and if you go ask for Steve and tell him Josh R recommended them. More
I bought a used VW Jetta Wagon, the car was seating in the lot for three months and was in ok condition, the wheel covers were replaced with cheap ones, and no mats. The oil was not changed and before mak the lot for three months and was in ok condition, the wheel covers were replaced with cheap ones, and no mats. The oil was not changed and before making the deal they agreed to change the oil. So, we make the deal, with the happiness of a new used car I forgot to check back the oil, before leaving the dealer. Two days later I went to my garage and I found out they did not change it. Also, in the sticker price they said 100% parts and service warranty and in the signing papers, they stated 50% service and parts and I should do any reparation with them. The service was OK but my perception was that they want to sell the car or any thing that moves but you have to be very careful even after you make the deal and specially before signing papers. Seems that they have the tendency to change concepts on the way of signing. More
I purchased a new vehicle from Koons Tysons Toyota and was surprised by the level of professionalism exhibited by EVERYONE at the dealership. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful. The salesman and was surprised by the level of professionalism exhibited by EVERYONE at the dealership. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful. The salesman and sales manager knew the product and were helpful in giving me a great price. The finance manager, Suheil, was also great! My overall experience was A +++++. I wanted to buy a good used car. The sticker says I have a right to have the car inspected by a mechanic. After I took the car to mechanic, it was discovered there were too many thing going wrong with the a right to have the car inspected by a mechanic. After I took the car to mechanic, it was discovered there were too many thing going wrong with the car, 2008 Subaru Legacy. The fluids had not even been changed. Oil was old and dirty. I took it back and said no deal. The sales manager belittled and berated me. Luckily I recorded this. I was taken aback by the verbal threats and lack of customer focus. They were focused more on selling me a crappy car than helping me find a car that was good. I will never return nor recommend Koons. More
This dealer prides themselves on being the biggest volume dealer in the DC area but I just don't see how this can be true. They had the perfect used car for me but when I came it to see it, I realized it had dealer in the DC area but I just don't see how this can be true. They had the perfect used car for me but when I came it to see it, I realized it had been smoked in. It wasn't terrible but it was definitely noticeable. Knowing they didn't have the used car for me I asked about leasing. They quoted me a price ONE HUNDRED dollars per month more than what both Fitzgerald and Darcars had quoted me (they both gave me the same quote). When I pointed this out the manager said there was no way that price was possible, I'd been quoted for a base model when I wanted a Limited. I repeated multiple times that this was not the case, I had driven the cars I was being quoted for. They refused to come down so I left (they had the color I wanted, the other two dealers didn't). To Virginia- cross the border to Maryland, you'll get much better prices! More
