First let me say that I hate buying cars, that is, I hate making decisions in the dark involving large sums of money for something that may or may not give me years of good use or headache. I also dislike m making decisions in the dark involving large sums of money for something that may or may not give me years of good use or headache. I also dislike most sales people, and car salesmen rank right up there with Nordstrom sales clerks on my irritation scale. Heck, I dislike most people; though to my credit, I think, I love my wife and my dog. Get the picture? Ok, let's continue. I just bought a 2011 Toyota 4Runner Trail model from Leo Bouchard at Koons for roughly $45,000, a sum almost as great as the cost of my first house in the late '70's. And I enjoyed it!! Indeed, I am still surprised at how well I felt the process went. So how did this happen, you ask? For that I owe thanks to Leo and his deft perception of my needs (I needed a good backroads hunting vehicle) and my concerns. Of course it helped that Leo is an avid hunter and fisherman too. It also helped that Leo clearly knows his business inside and out and transparently enjoys selling. Enthusiasm and knowledge make a powerful combination and go a long way to affording a customer like me a sense of confidence. I also enjoy watching someone enjoy his craft. I don't know whether I got a "good" deal a "great" deal or a "bad" deal on the car itself. If, for example, the delayed 2012s have some great new technology of look, I will be very disappointed that I wasn't informed. At the same time, I think there are always lingering doubts like this in a car purchase. This is one of the aspects of car purchasing that is a real problem--the fact of not having full information and no way to get it. What I do know is that I thoroughly enjoyed buying the car from Leo at Koons, and I would recommend them to anyone with confidence. More
My husband and I bought a new 2011 Highlander from Koons Tyson Toyota this summer. Our sales representative was Philip Clayman - he is an exceptional sales person, and very efficient, and was extremely patient with us. We initially thought we wanted a 'previously owed' Highlander, but after speaking with Phil Clayman on numerous visits, we learned we wanted a new 2011 Highlander instead. Mr. Clayman was patient with us as we test-drove the different Highlander vehicles, both used & new models. He explained the differences with all of the difference models; he is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Mr. Clayman told us about possible ways to help bring the cost down, since that was a concern for us. We decided to do a trade-in on our own car, and were given a fair value for it. The financing department at Tyson Toyota was also very friendly & efficient. The finance representative explained the different choices in payment plans, and was also patient with our questions. We have been customers of Koons Tyson Toyota for over 20 years, and have have used the service dept. all these years, too. We had a great experience buying our new Highlander, and enjoyed the whole process! Phil Clayman even volunteered to connect my cell phone to the automatic calling system in our new Highlander (not sure what that system is called)! We had a great overall experience, and appreciate all the time & attention that Phil Clayman gave us, and all the other people at Toyota, as well! More
We bought a new Toyota Sienna XLE. Mr. Don Evans was professional, extremely helpful, very personable and honest. We wanted a black Toyota Sienna XLE but they did not have it on the lot. Mr. Evans immed professional, extremely helpful, very personable and honest. We wanted a black Toyota Sienna XLE but they did not have it on the lot. Mr. Evans immediately made phone calls and was able to get us the car we wanted from a dealership relatively close by. He explained everything to us regarding the price and how things worked. We ordered it on Monday and it arrived Tuesday night (very grateful to the guy who actually made the trip to pick up the car). He was honest about the options we needed and did not try to sell us more than was necessary for us. We test drove with him and he was pleasant, funny and sweet without making us feel like we were "taking up his precious time". We felt like he was part of the family! The finance department was efficient and helpful (as efficient as helpful they could be with a screaming 2 year old in tow lol) When I went to pick up the car, he sat with me and explained all the different bells and whistles that the car has emphasizing that there are no "dumb questions" and that I should call anytime if I had any questions at all. I am so glad we went to this dealership and specifically to Mr. Don. We love our new car. Thank you Koons Tysons Toyota and Mr. Don in particular for a fantastic car purchasing experience. More

We went to Koons Tysons Toyota to look at a Nissan Altima hybrid. They did an excellent job of making the car look great. The place was certainly busy, but the people there were friendly. However, when we to hybrid. They did an excellent job of making the car look great. The place was certainly busy, but the people there were friendly. However, when we took it for a test drive, there was a pronounced vibration at highway speeds. The sales associate noticed it too and talked to the manger, who said it was likely a cheap fix of re-balancing the tires. I tend to agree with his assessment, but was very hesitant to buy from a dealership that didn't pick up on such an obvious problem. What else could be wrong with the car? We asked if it was possible to negotiate on the price in light of this development. The manager said no, the internet price was the lowest, "We're kind of like Carmax." Sorry, but not driving your car on the interstate as part of your inspection disqualifies you from playing the no-haggle card. I'm sure the car will get sold as it is listed at a very low price. But, given the numerous negative reviews on the internet about this dealership, I would advise caution. More

We were interested in purchasing a 2006 Lexus from the dealer. We followed protocol by calling ahead and booking an appointment with Haile. When we called, they said Haile said that the car was available dealer. We followed protocol by calling ahead and booking an appointment with Haile. When we called, they said Haile said that the car was available for purchase. When we arrived for the appointment, Haile was nowhere to be seen. The other employee paged Haile twice and called him once before he surfaced. At this point we have waited for about 15 minutes. Haile then goes to retrieve the vehicle. About five minutes later, he returns and says that he did not find the car, and is sending out someone else to look for it. The next guy comes back 10 minutes later and says that he could not find the car, and that maybe it was stolen. About 10 minutes later, another employee calls someone and that someone says that they have the car. We are then told that the car is just down the street and should arrive soon. Haile then asks if we would like to discuss price. We declined saying that since we had not yet driven or even seen the car, we could not discuss price. About half an hour passes, and still no car. Again, we are asked if we could like to "crunch the numbers"! How can we talk about price if the car still hasn't shown up! At this point we are fed up and we ask to speak to the manager. The new car manager Pushkar is called in. He is not in charge of the used cars, which we were trying to purchase, but rather the new cars. Pushkar was very rude and refused to see our point of view. At this point we had taken off from work, driven 45 minutes, and then waited over an hour to see a car that the dealership had lost! We were tired and angry! We tried to explain our anger at a reputable dealership being unable to find a car that we were told was available. Pushkar said that he will do nothing for us and that he does not know where the car is. We then left the dealership upset and angry at being duped by what we thought was a reputable dealership. We understand if the car is unavailable, but please tell us that before wasting our time. We were told story after story by a revolving cast of salesmen before we finally left. We did what we were supposed to, we made an appointment to see a car and showed up at the correct time. If a customer wants to see a car and calls beforehand, the car should be available when they show up. The next day, after we posted this review, we got a call from the manager. The car had been found. One of the employees was driving it to run errands because it had to be run a certain number of miles to a test, or something. The manager, Deborah, and the sales associate Bill, were very friendly and helpful. However, it seemed as they were a little over eager to help us so that we would remove our negative review. The car was clean and ran well when we test drove it. However, the paperwork took over 3 hours! All in all, we are happy with the car and the price we got it at. More
