I am a 20 year old male who purchased a used car at this dealership. I went to trade in a 2009 Toyota Corolla and was offered verbally 7000 dollars by two people multiple times confirming that that was the dealership. Well, I look at my bank statement and see that I am paying $483.15 a month for the car. Yes, I am new to credit so the interest rate would be high. However, I saw that I was charged a warranty for $2,460 that I never wanted or was informed of. Furthermore, the sneaky dealership put in the bill of sale my Corolla was bought for $5,000 even though I was told verbally it was worth 7,000. I tried contacting the dealership about it and it took over 3 weeks and a threat about filing a lawsuit to get to a person who would actually help me. They said that they will not do anything and even got so cocky as to offer me one of their own lawyers. Now we all know car dealerships try to profit as much as possible. I think they thought they could profit even more off of a not so smart 20 year old who was purchasing a car for the first time by himself. I gave the dealership an ultimatum… either give me the $4,460 I am rightfully owned or I will see them in court and will be suing for what the car is worth. If you work at Koons Toyota I’m Arlington, I will be giving you until Friday, June 10th to pay me or I will have multiple lawyers on the dealership. I already have 3 ready to take the case. This review is for Koons Toyota in Arlington, VA. I set an appointment online for an alignment on my 2015 Toyota sedan. I wanted this done on a Saturday so I would not have to take time off work. I was told the service area was swamped. This would take approximately three hours. I had expected 90 minutes or two hours, so I was a bit surprised. I asked about a car rental. I was told my scheduled service did not qualify for a rental car. I asked the service representative if there was a shuttle take me to the nearest subway station. After waiting ten or fifteen minutes, I asked the representative again about the shuttle. He said had not heard anything. I walked down to the subway station in Rosslyn. I surfed the web on my phone, and listened to music at an eatery in Rosslyn. More than three hours after i dropped off my car, I returned to the dealership. My car still was not ready. I asked if they would accept an online coupon from another Toyota dealership (this type of request is frequently granted). This would have saved me 30 dollars. They would not honor the coupon. I realize many drivers take their cars back to the dealership for service and maintenance. I used to do this, as well. I also realize that the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting many businesses and supply chains. I have had my car serviced many times since the pandemic began in early 2020, however. No shop I have used has been this lackluster. After this experience, I advise anyone who takes their Toyota to a dealership for service or maintenance to look elsewhere. We all know business is business, but when you hurt customers either directly, or in-directly because your lack of genuine care for people, you should not benefit from honest people who visit your business establishment as customers. This warning is not for koon's; it is for your potential future customers. Your financial closer is the biggest criminal. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. More
