I dreaded the prospect of shopping for a new car and in particular the “hard sell” tactics that have made car dealers infamous. Alan was an unexpected surprise: prompt, courteous, straightforward and honest. He explained the vehicle options and dealer programs rather than pushing them. When I had questions, Alan had the answers. I checked out those answers myself, and they were invariably spot-on. In the end, I was able to make an informed decision without feeling pressured into it. Once that decision was made, Alan arranged the closing with no surprises. Best of all, I know I got a great deal. Overall experience: Alan is a genuinely nice guy who treats customers like clients, not opportunities. More
Alan was fantastic!! As a USAA member, I have the benefit of their Car Buying Service. Koons Arlington didn't appear on USAA's list but since it was close to home, I thought I would check it out. We were greeted by Alan who from the start, was courteous, respectful, and funny!! This was my first time buying a car so I was extremely nervous about the process. Alan made a point of listening to what I was looking for and took us out for a test-drive. Throughout the visit, we were put at ease by his product know-how, charm, and overall disposition. I didn't feel pressured that first night which was comforting because I wanted to look at a few different cars. Alan understood that I had an extremely busy schedule and made EVERY attempt to accommodate it by communicating via email (which was best for me) and making himself available at any time of day (on his personal cell phone). When I finally decided on the 2012 Toyota Camry, Alan was as patient as can be while I test-drove two different models. He never pressured me into one over the other, but instead, listened to what was important to me. He made me feel at ease throughout the process. When it came time to pick up the car, I was thrilled and even asked another salesperson to take a picture of me and Alan in front of the new Camry. If it weren't for Alan, I would have easily gone to another dealer. There are plenty in the area but Koons in Arlington was top notch! Call Alan - you won't be disappointed!! Thanks again, Alan! You think I would have learned when I went to pick up my new car, I was made to wait until their "finance" person got in for the day, because she had all the paper work. Then I had to sit for almost 2 hours while she tried to sell me on other financing plans. I already had financing for the car. Anyway, their service is very poor and a bit shady. I bought my car from them 3 years ago and would bring it back for the free oil changes I got under the warranty. After the warranty ran out, I continued to bring the car back for any service. Well, that's when the fun started. I had my breaks replaced by a friend, but when I brought it back for an oil change not long after, they took it upon themselves to check my breaks and said it needed all new breaks. I told them I just had the breaks replaced...silence on the phone. Next time I brought it in for an oil change, they said I needed some belt replaced because it was showing signs of wear, I said I'd wait on that for a little; next oil change, I asked the technician about the belt...he said it looked fine -- no wear or tear. humm. Bought 4 new tires from them...got the car home and noticed they forgot to put the valve caps back on. Called them and the technician said "Oh, we don't put them on because some owners have their own valve caps they like to use." HUH?! I mean how do you respond to such a stupid statement?! You think I would have learned by now. SO, just took the car back for an oil change. Dropped it off the night before, said I'd be back for it after 5 the next day. Went to pick it up, and the person at the desk said it wasn't ready. She called the technician at home, and he told her that he called me to find out what oil I wanted to use. HUH?! Said he left a voice mail. I showed the woman my cell phone log...no one from Koons called. She said the car would be ready tomorrow. Again, HUH?!?!?!. All I wanted was my oil changed!! If he wanted to know what oil to use, look at what was used the last 10 times! Don't waste your time with these people. More
We worked with Alan Soon and he was the best customer service representative that we have ever worked with, and we have purchased numerous vehicles in several states. He was completely honest, straight-forward, and did not present any surprise fees, costs, etc. that are all too often typical of car dealerships. Alan takes genuine care of his customers and worked hard to get us what we wanted within our budget. Koons policies seem to be aligned very well with customer needs. The business manager was not pushy; he explained all of our options clearly, which allowed us to make informed decisions in a non-hostile environment. This was the single best car buying experience that we have enjoyed. More

If you want to buy a Toyota with minimal hassle and for a great price then I strongly recommend this dealership. Oscar is a man of his word and Chris will do what he can to work with you to make sure you are great price then I strongly recommend this dealership. I've been shopping for a second vehicle for a while and Alan Soon was a breath of fresh air. After countless pushy salespeople at various dealerships all tripping over their own feet to upsell me options, Alan Soon was a breath of fresh air. After countless pushy salespeople at various dealerships all tripping over their own feet to upsell me options, I walked into Koons Toyota in Arlington and was introduced to Mr. Soon. He listened to the various cars I was looking at and we test drove three different models that day. At no point was he pushy and instead he provided relevant information about the vehicle I was driving and the other options I was considering. He was extremely friendly, approachable, and made it clear that he was looking to help me find the car I wanted, not the vehicle he or the dealership wanted to sell to me. We discussed what options I would need and which ones might not be necessary and I let him know that I was going to go home and sleep on it. Two days later, I called Alan and told him I had made a decision and he started the search for the exact model I wanted. He located it and I went in that afternoon to test drive the exact model and closed the deal later that night. He was extremely helpful and very informative about the products Toyota offered, introduced me to the parts and service manager to discuss my scheduled service plan and kept me informed about the various steps in the purchase process, such as the finance manager crunching the numbers (this was the longest part of the process and even that wasn't too lengthy). Once the sale was complete, Alan delivered the car to my work himself. I have recommended Alan (and my new Prius 3rd Gen) to everyone I know and I would definitely buy another car from him in the future.
