Just bought a car last Saturday June 1st from Kirby Kia in Ventura, CA. From our terrific salesperson John Gonzales, who helped me find the perfect car (a 2024 Sportage), to Mark Morehead, who helped us wi in Ventura, CA. Everything was quick and seamless! I would definitely drive a bit out of my way to shop cars there again. There are Kia dealerships closer to my home but this location had a great selection of everything. I've had Cadillacs and even a nice Maserati, but I LUV my new Sportage!! Their service staff use deceptive pricing to up-sell you into packages they don't advertise. The service counter charges hundreds of dollars more for parts than their online storefront. I was looking for a specific trim & package and the rate. The reasons why I recommend Ventura Kia among many others I've contacted/been to (with others, I experienced the exact opposites): THEY HAVE THE ONE. Here they may not have piles of cars, but they have the variety and the ones in need - the popular rare ones. FAST & TRANSPARENT. Clear information on the website, throughout the quick-responsive conversions, to the signing. Since there were NO hidden charges or later-add-ons, the final signing was done fast. RESPECTFUL STAFFS. Along with their transparency, I could feel they respect my situation and try to work it out together. Very pleasant. Did not make me uncomfortable even a bit during the rate talks. INFORMATIVE. Made sure I comprehend all the new tech features I might appreciate, including some that no other dealer but John here told me about. NICE CLEAN AMBIENCE. Ample clean seating with clear covers on each table. Every staff you encounter keeps distances and follows the COVID protocols as they greet you friendly (I think I met the entire team who worked today saying "Hello" or "Congratulations" to me). Clean restroom. No loud party music nor crazy sparkles to distract you. Even their balloon decorations are black & white up on the ceiling straight in line. That was my overall impression of this dealer shop: straight-forward and organized. And I even like their license plate frame. It was totally worth driving up there for 60 miles. More
Try Them, but Be Wary Purchasing my new Kia from Kirby went quite well. The salesperson was very helpful, friendly, non-aggressive, and knowledgeable. However, during the signing of the sales contract I definitely felt pressured to purchase an extended warranty adding $1800 to the cost of the car, which has proven a complete waste of money after 7 years of ownership. The service department has been basically alright, but I have developed a distrust of their recommendations. I was told 4 years ago that my battery "doesn't hold a charge". That was a direct lie. I still have that same battery that came with the car when it was new. It's been perfect since day one. On another service visit I was told that my "tires are bald". That was another lie. They were perfectly fine for another two years of driving before I replaced them (from another source). When I received a recall notice about "high heat around the catalytic converter", I took it in for the recall service. Following that service the car immediately dropped at least 3 to 4 miles per gallon. I went back twice to the service department for an explanation. I was told it would eventually return to it's former gasoline mileage. That has most certainly never happened. So, I wouldn't go so far as to say to never take your car to their service department. But, be wary! More

Disappointed Buyer I was looking to buy a car from this dealership. Had been speaking to Jake and when my friend and I showed up we were helped by another sales person. Tried to make a deal with them the online price was about $16,000 the vehicle had some body work done to the back passenger door. We tried to see if they would lower the price and instead they came back with a $19,000 price. We asked for an explanation so the sales person had his manager come over. When we asked him what the $3,000 in accessories on a used car were; he said that it was for a sealant (car wax) that they put on the vehicle. My friend laugh and said lets go you are not going to pay for that. The manager said ok that's fine and did not do anything to get our business. Went and bought my car at another dealership. More
