Chris Vanderveer was my salesperson. He was very friendly, helpful, and honest about everything. He let me know all of my options, but he was never too pushy or overly aggressive about the sale. I visited Kings Toyota on a saturday at 5 not knowing they closed at 6. I was immediately greeted at the door and asked what I was looking for. The sales woman who was helping me was most concerned abo they closed at 6. I was immediately greeted at the door and asked what I was looking for. The sales woman who was helping me was most concerned about what color I wanted--even though that was my absolute last concern. It took her 15 minutes to find out that they only had 4 cars in 3 colors in stock--I could have done that in 5 minutes on my cell phone. I asked for a test drive, she handed me the keys at 545 and said "and we close at 6." First of all, I didn't know that. Secondly, if I'm considering buying a car from you then you should not be concerned with being at work 5 minutes past closing time. Because of this, I drove the car around the automall a few times and came back. I went inside, waited 5 minutes for her to come back and talk to me. She walked up to me, said absolutely nothing (not even "how did you like the car?" or anything like it) so I gave her the keys back silently. She reluctantly printed me up a price, handed me her card, and sent me on my way. She never shook my hand, introduced herself, asked for my name, addressed me by name after she got it off my license, or thanked me for coming in. She never asked what other cars I was looking at, what I wanted in my car, or what price range I wanted. 1% above invoice actually ended up being $200 over MSRP on the vehicle. I left here and immediately went to Beechmont Toyota where I dealt with a FABULOUS sales person and was immediately given a MUCH better deal than King's was offering. It was blatently obvious that King's Toyota was not interested in my business. More
We bought a used 2006 Toyota Matrix from the auction. The car had none of the keys either to start it or to open it. I called the Kings service department to get the approximate estimate on the key replaceme car had none of the keys either to start it or to open it. I called the Kings service department to get the approximate estimate on the key replacement for this vehicle. The service department representative explained to me that the key will have to be with the chip for that car and it will come with the new computer that will need to be replaces as well and it will run about $2,000.00..........I was shocked!!!!!!!!! Then I called Beechmont Toyota about 20 miles away from Kings Toyota and about $1,800 cheaper!!!!!!!! I ended up paying $210......Good luck Kings Toyota in RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!!!!!!!! More

I knew exactly the color, trim level, and options that I wanted, & I provided this information to all of the dealers. I spoke with Mike Rutherford on the phone to confirm exactly what I was looking for, & to let him know that the King's website showed 5 or more Corollas on his lot that met my specs. Mike prepared a quote, & had it Faxed to me within 2 hours. So far, so good. After I had received quotations from all the dealers I had contacted, I called each one to let them know what the lowest bid was, to see if they'd be interested in meeting or beating it. When I told Mike that the King's bid was more than $1,000 higher than the best quote I had received, he raised his voice to just short of a yell. He ranted, "You're being screwed-around with! That's not a real bid! I've been doin' this for 27 years, and there's no way someone's going to sell you a Toyota for that price! If you can really buy a new Corolla for that much, you should go buy two!" I calmly asked him, "If you're confident that the other dealer is playing games with me, can you give me 2 or 3 questions to ask them, to smoke them out?" Mike replied, "I'm not going to fight your battles for you!". Needless to say, the conversation ended shortly thereafter. So, 2 days later I bought the car from the other dealer, at EXACTLY the price they had quoted me. The entire transaction took about ½ an hour, and was far & away the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. None of the other dealers who had given me quotes offered to match the winning dealer's price. But none of them threw a temper tantrum about it, either. -FC More
After waiting 1 hours and 1/2, I was told that they could not address the recall on my Sienna without first replacing a bent part. Why so long? And why is the recall not done free of charge as indicated? Why not address the recall on my Sienna without first replacing a bent part. Why so long? And why is the recall not done free of charge as indicated? Why would a part be bent? My van has NEVER been in an accident and never did I notice anything hitting it from the bottom. The recall is addressing a cable corrosion issue for the spare tire. How could anything be bent over the spare tire? Wouldn't the spare tire be first damaged before benting any part above? Very strange. Sounds to me like Kings Toyota was attemting to get extra revenu from me! NEVER will I return to this dealership! More
