I had looked at a used GTI (Autobahn) in PA (VW of Langhorne) and had a terrible experience. I changed my mind about buying used and started looking for new Autobahn GTI's. Well, the closest one was 2 Langhorne) and had a terrible experience. I changed my mind about buying used and started looking for new Autobahn GTI's. Well, the closest one was 2.5 hours away at King VW in Gaithersburg. I saw a price on the internet that was actually reasonable (a hair over 29k) and called the dealership. I talked with Arthur and told him I could come down the next day if he priced it at 28.5k. He talked to his manager, called me back, and surprisingly agreed! For reference, most GTI Autobahn versions start around 31-32k new. I asked Arthur to send me an email with that price and the next day I drove down. From the moment I walked in, Arthur was personable, but not pushy or overwhelming at all. He explained that his philosophy is that people will buy what they like. There's no need to be aggressive. I completely agreed. Arthur took the time to show me all of the neat features of the GTI which I wouldn't have known otherwise (and I'm pretty good with gadgets). That German engineering is pretty impressive and pragmatic! I did the paperwork that day and Chuck the finance manager handled the down payment and rest of the paperwork. Chuck was also very nice and helped get the paperwork done as soon as possible. I had gotten an aggressive APR (2.14) from Bank of America, but he got me down to 1.84 with PNC. Of course he did offer a bunch of extended warranties which I politely declined, but he wasn't aggressive with selling them. Some people may have bought them since the word "warranty" isn't actually used; they just look like important maintenance and repair plans in case something happens. Overall I had a great experience at King VW and I walked away with a brand new GTI at a fantastic price. More

No fol DECEIVING, UNPROFESSIONAL, STUPID Do not recommend this dealership. The moment you pick up your new car, they won't care about you at all. No follow up, no check up call, no follow up email, no return calls, no, no, no, you're alone! They hid a very essential information, made me stupid when I found out. They didn't want to take any responsibility on what they said (and made up things they never said). Their price wasn't that good, I just pick this one and got my new car, which was my BIG MISTAKE. Price not good, service not good, you have no reason to go there. No wonder this dealership is inactive. The sales people I dealt with don't know what they're saying, will change words later, blame customers for 'misunderstanding' AND have short term memory loss... Please take my two cents, do not work with this dealership. When it's not busy, there's a reason behind it, THEY ARE NOT GOOD! More
Great customer service. The sales associate was very attentive and answered all my questions. When she wasnt wure of something she asked the manager. After reviewing my aplication and credit and was app attentive and answered all my questions. When she wasnt wure of something she asked the manager. After reviewing my aplication and credit and was approved she made sure the person that helped with the finances to get the car was a person who spoke my language and understood my situation. More
PLEASE READ, THIS IS A GOOD STORY BTW. I'll keep it brief. THEY SOLD ME A CAR WITHOUT AIR CONDITION. SALESMAN LIED. MANAGER ACT as if he want to help, but he didn't offer anything decent. I saw the brief. THEY SOLD ME A CAR WITHOUT AIR CONDITION. SALESMAN LIED. MANAGER ACT as if he want to help, but he didn't offer anything decent. I saw their advertisement online for a volkswagen Jetta with a decent price. Called and the salesman told us the price seen low on the advertisement but they will definitely honor the price if it is advertised online. On the advertisement, it stated the car has all the basic stuff including a/c, radio, and such. We went to the store, salesman pull up the car and told us this is the car we advertised online, it has the same inventory number as we advertised. We test drive the car and realize the car doesn't have a radio, he said the radio is the only difference between this car and the car advertised online, we are getting a great deal with this car, all we have to do is spend $200 to install the radio, and assure us RADIO is the ONLY difference between this car and the car advertised online. We even ask him in the car, "so it has A/C, heater, all those basic stuff right". He said of course, the ONLY difference is the RADIO. We bought the car, three days later, we discover the car does not have AC. We went back, manger said it will cost $11,000 to install the A/C, or we can trade in the car for a new one, but this car will lose 4000 dollars instantly. We bought the car for 16,200, and he offered the trade in value of 12000. I said to the manager, "if your salesman disclose to us that the car does not have AC, we would never bought it, we would look at other car, who sells a vehicle w/o AC in maryland. I had the car for 4 days, put 140 miles on it, now you are telling me I am gonna lose $4000 on it." Manger's word was," I am sorry, but you should have read the MSRP sticker, it list everything on the car, and you agree to buy the car, there's nothing more I can do for you" Salesman's word was" BUDDIE, I told you yesterday, this car is the basic model, IT HAS NOTHING IN IT, no AC, no RADIO". I remember the day we bought the car Salesman's words were, "BUDDIE, you are getting a great deal, the ONLY difference between this car and the car advertised online is the RADIO, come on you can install the radio for 200 dollars". After hearing the salesman lied to my face, I walked out without anymore words because he lied and he's certainly not going to help. I know that man has let go of his integrity and became a liar because of few hundred bucks commission and I pity him for degrading himself for money like that. Before I went back to the dealership, i even tell myself, salesman probably didn't know the car doesn't have A/C and he will certainly offer a good way to solve the this issue. What's Ironic is that manger even said to me, "sorry you have to learn your lesson the hard way, but what is done is done". THE END (I hope you all enjoy the story) ------- BTW, I traded my car in with Congressional Volkswagen, took a 2000 dollar loss instead of 4000. Congressional VW told me they will probably auction off car, no one can drive a car w/o AC in Maryland when it's 100 degree outside. I am grateful that Congressional VW was willing to take the car in and offered us a great deal on the new car(w/o any price negotiation). There is just NO way i can sell a car without ACT myself. I simply can't understand why King Volkwagen can't do the same and offer the same deal. More
This is a great dealership to buy a car from. I heard about King VW and drove up to MD to see if they could help me out. I met with Rafi and he was willing to assist with my purchase. He not only located the exact car for me, but beat the price of Alexandria VA by several hundred, and gave me more on the trade in. It was a pleasant experience working with Rafi. He didn't waste my time. From start to finish it was very efficient. I've never experience this type of efficiency at any other dealership in this area. If I were looking for a new VW, I would happily go back to King VW. Unfortunately my next car won't be a VW product due to the excessive amount of problems I've had with this car. More
I leased my 2008 Jetta in early 2008 with the expectation that it would be a smooth 3 years. However I've has lackluster support from the service department. 8 months in the car developed a bad squeak from the rear brakes and a strange problem with the front passenger door. I took it for service and they "found nothing wrong". Then with less than 13000 miles on the car the rear brakes are gone and it will cost $400 to replace? $400 for $90 worth of parts and one hour labor? And my door problem still isn't fixed. No thanks. At least the people are friendly. More
Salesman was talking straight 'bs' the whole time. Advertised prices online are about $2000 cheaper than what they actually charge you. They make excuses for these extrapulated charges- for example th Advertised prices online are about $2000 cheaper than what they actually charge you. They make excuses for these extrapulated charges- for example they told us we had to pay an $850 'reconditioning fee' for the used car we were looking at when they hadn't even removed children's stickers from the interior console. They try to get you to come in with decent prices, but these turn out to be well over blue book msrp. Very unpleasant experience and a waste of time. More
I shopped around for the best price to lease a 2006 Jetta and came to an agreement with the internet salesman after trading several emails. Since the haggling was basically completed, I thought that my trip and came to an agreement with the internet salesman after trading several emails. Since the haggling was basically completed, I thought that my trip to the dealer would basically be just filling out paperwork. I was wrong. The salesman threw a higher price than we had agreed on and tried to make excuses as to why he was no longer able to honor our agreed price. Long story short, I got the price that was agreed on after 2 hours of back and forth with the finance guy. More
