Jey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. The vehicle-buying experience should be an exciting one, and it appears that we managed to fall short of that with you. The vehicle buying process is cumbersome and can at times be confusing. We are 100% transparent with our online vehicle pricing, however there are additional factors that effect the final vehicle price, such as state sales tax, motor vehicle registration and if you are financing the vehicle the bank charges a lender fee upfront. At the time of sale, we are required by law to collect these fees from the customer and pay the state of New Jersey and financial institution on your behalf. These additional costs are not included in any online advertisement, and once added, the final cost of the vehicle is effected. We disclose all of the additional costs when purchasing a pre-owned vehicle on every used car page on our website so there are no surprises, but unfortunately they are required by the state of NJ and are the responsibility of the customer. We were also running a special promotion this Saturday, where any customer who came in on their own, and not from any online or offline advertisement, received an additional $500 off the purchase price of any vehicle we have in stock. So we further discounted every new and pre-owned vehicle in our inventory by an additional $500. Another false statement!!! I called a few dealers with online pricing and questioned them. And their answer was “ONLINE PRICE IS SALE PRICE” if a different price is stated at the dealer it is considered “FALSE ADVERTISEMENT “ A family member just purchased a car from a Honda dealer showed the price online and was honored with the online pricing! This dealer is a big SCAM! Please DON’T BE FOOLED!

Jey, We apologize if you feel you had a bad experience here at Route 23 Kia, and that you feel the original price of the vehicle you were interested in was different from the final price. As we mentioned earlier there are multiple fees and taxes that are not included in the advertised price of the vehicle and are required by law to be collected by the dealership at the time of sale. These additional costs are then paid on your behalf by the dealership to the state of New Jersey. We are 100% transparent with our advertised prices and we apologize that you did not know these fees were not included in the advertised price, but these fees are disclosed on every used vehicle page on our website so customers know what else is required. This adverting practice is common by not only dealerships but by all major retailers such as Amazon, who only advertises the price of the product a customer will pay for the product and anything additional such as sales tax and shipping is extra and must be paid up front, in order for you to receive your purchase. You always have the option of not paying these fees to the dealership and paying them personally, however you would not be able to take the car off the lot or register it without them being paid in full at motor vehicle agency. We provide you with the option of including them in on your monthly payment so you don’t have to come out of pocket with any additional money. Again we are sorry for the misunderstanding, and we would like the opportunity to speak with you in further detail, so please contact us at 973-839-9600 at your convenience.
