I had the car for 3+ weeks. I was told that it was financed and a DONE deal before they let me take posession of the car. So, we thought we would make our monthly payments etc and the auto is ours.BU financed and a DONE deal before they let me take posession of the car. So, we thought we would make our monthly payments etc and the auto is ours.BUT...The call came 3+ weeks after we bought and supposedly financed this vehicle that... well, the financing just did not work out???? Now, at the drop of a hat I need to take off work for a few hours to go repo my own car and drive it back to the dealership. It had to happen now! So I got my wife to meet me at Capital Kia Austin Texas while I returned the vehicle I was told was financed when we bought the car? And now They are looking for my trade in vehicle which is being auctioned off as I type? And I am now late on the payment for the traded vehicle? What a jerk-around and half assed business this is huh? If this happens to you please report the dealership to the consumer credit commission at 512-936-7600 (the auto finance division) or the TXDOT Dealer Enforcement at 512-416-4800 These idiots need to be punished for causing so much grief in peoples lives (which is simply unnecessary) More
The past week was a horror. Went in on April 29, 2010 bought a 2005 Kia Sorento. Signed all paperwork (contract) and gave my down payment of $1000. I get a call on May 3, 2010 that the bank did not wan bought a 2005 Kia Sorento. Signed all paperwork (contract) and gave my down payment of $1000. I get a call on May 3, 2010 that the bank did not want to finance me and I needed to return the car or the will have to come pick it up. I told the person I had no problem bringing the car back but I wanted my down payment refunded. The guy told me to come in and he would have a paper for me to sign, that I returned the car. When I get there the person who I talked with by phone was not "available". He was with another guest making a deal. So they sent out a salesmen that I dealt with also. I asked him where was my down payment and he stated it was in accounting and would not be available until after noon the next day. He also did not bring the paper I needed to sign and I said I did not feel comfortable leaving the car and had no paperwork. I went ahead in left after feeling intimidated when I asked for him to sign my paper that I was returning the car. I said I would be back tomorrow to pick up those checks. The next morning I went straight to my bank to cancel those checks I wrote to Capitol Kia for the down payment. I felt that these people were trying to scam me and giving me the run around. Also when I get back to the dealership the guy only gives me one check and said the other check was already deposited. I new then that these people were trying to take my money and also they broke their contract agreement. Also as I was leaving the dealership I noticed the car was up for sell and was being showcased. I took pictures as proof that the car was being sold again. By the way the cancellation of my checks that I wrote were processed in the nick of time. They did not get a dime from my bank account. These people give car salesmen a bad name. I will be pursuing a lawsuit against them. More
Hi preasure and mis-leading. The car is a good vehicle, Hi preasure and mis-leading. The car is a good vehicle, but because of the dealership and it's sales associates practiced deceptive trade practices Hi preasure and mis-leading. The car is a good vehicle, but because of the dealership and it's sales associates practiced deceptive trade practices I will never buy a vehicle from them again. If I want a KIA, I'll buy a used one. Has anyone reported them for deceptive trade practices? More
My husband and I stopped in on a whim to see what was My husband and I stopped in on a whim to see what was available. As soon as we drove in, we were greeted by a salesman. We told him exactly what we My husband and I stopped in on a whim to see what was available. As soon as we drove in, we were greeted by a salesman. We told him exactly what we needed, we had nothing for a down payment and had my '92 car for a trade in and also told him what we needed for a monthly payment. My husband told him that we did not want to waste his time if he could not do anything for us. The salesman understood and proceeded to show us an 09 model. He took us on a test drive . the car itself was ok, not really what I wanted but asked if we wanted to crunch the numbers. We decided to see if we could afford the car. Turns out, after many "let me go talk to my manager....." , the payments were simply more than we could afford. We both told him we would need to go home and crunch the numbers to see if we could make the purchase and that we could not make such a big decision without making sure we could comfortably do it. He kept expounding in the 10 yr/100,000 warranty, "it's a new car... blah, blah, blah. wE KEPT TELLING HIM WE COULD NOT AFFORD THE PAYMENTS, THANKS ANYWAY. So, after a bit, he relents and asks what I would like to do, I tell him this car is more than I am wanting to spend , I would like to see what they have in used. He than says, Ok, lets go look at the used cars. Then he says, I'll be right back, I need to talk to my manager. He comes back and then tells me that since I am a first time buyer( my husband purchased my 92 in his name) I would not be able to get a loan for a used car, only a new car. xxx??!! His sales mgr comes in with the hard sell and that the offer they gave us was as low as they could go. Once again, my husband tells him that it is a good deal but we cannot afford it. He then tells us again what a great new car it is with a great warranty. My husband asks him what good would that do when the car gets repossessed because we cannot afford the payments? I finally have to tell them for the last time we cannot afford the car and that we will have to walk away. They only cared about the sale, they could care less if you can make the payments.I did e-mail this dealership to inquire about the 7900.00 Spectra and I was curious about it.I wrote to a different sales person and asked about the financing for 1st time buyers beeing able to only get a loan for a new car. She responded that was not true and asked who said that to me. I wrote back that is was a salesman whose 1st name begins with a J and he works at her dealership and due to his deception, I would not be buying anything from this dealership. More
I was asked to leave when I did not want to pay their $2200 fee for window tint and tire pertection. They did not even have the windows tinted on the car but they were charging for it. This place is a $2200 fee for window tint and tire pertection. They did not even have the windows tinted on the car but they were charging for it. This place is a complete rip off and should be shut down by kia motor company. I went and bought at the competitor South Point Kia and had no issues and no BS games. They gave me a fair deal and made the deal quickly. Capital kia should be avoided at all costs. More
These people are highly unethical. I purchased a car and went through all of the hard sales tactics many other reviewers on this site experienced. They went over the top when I got a phone call a few days went through all of the hard sales tactics many other reviewers on this site experienced. They went over the top when I got a phone call a few days after I closed the sale and they asked me to come in and "sign a paper they forgot about." When I got there, they informed me that my trade in vehicle had problems and they were no longer willing to take it. They gave me the option of returning my new car on the spot, or taking back my trade in and refinancing or paying them the difference. I eventually filed a lawsuit against them. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this den of unethical criminals. More
Tom Ho lied the finance guy when he said that the car had 25 miles on it when I bought it, but when I stepped back into the drivers seat I noticed it had 69. I should have walked right back in and had them c 25 miles on it when I bought it, but when I stepped back into the drivers seat I noticed it had 69. I should have walked right back in and had them change that info on the agreement. They tried to stick me with a 75 k warranty without telling me, they advertise 100k all over the place. I should have walked out right then and there. I was there for hours without them offering me anything to drink. They treated me like a fish on a hook just because I was a woman. Tom kept talking about the color and how "pretty it is" in his most feminine voice. Two days later I called tom just to ask him a question about the gas card I was offered. He never called me back. Then I went up there that night and just asked him as i tried to avoid being mean "Tom I haven't heard from you. What's going on?" and instead of just saying "well i'm here now, what can i do for you?" he became indignant and stubborn as he angrily told me he did call and then showed me some sheets of paper with the message the receptionist left for him as if it were proof. I truly regret buying my first new from Capital Kia. They have ruined the sense of joy i had over getting a new car, and they did not try to make it right. More
My husband and I contacted this dealership today regarding a vehicle on their inventory website. My husband was pre-approved and told that he would be contacted as to the availability of the vehicl regarding a vehicle on their inventory website. My husband was pre-approved and told that he would be contacted as to the availability of the vehicle in question. Since he was not contacted, I called hours later. I spoke to the same salesperson, Janae, who asked if we wanted to come look at it as it was available at their location. I said that we would be there after I got off work. I asked their closing time so that she would realize that I would be there soon. I spoke with her at approximately 3:15 p.m. and my husband and I got to the dealership at around 5:15 p.m. We were quickly greeted by a friendly salesman, Jessie, who asked us to come inside to see Janae. He got chairs for my children and me to sit with him at a table. We were informed that Janae had strep throat and had gone home. Jessie if we were interested in a new vehicle. I told him that we came to see something specific and could we just see it. He then went to the very high counter and was informed that it had been sold. I was upset and asked to speak to the manager. Instead of coming out from behind the counter, Pancho Martinez, who told me that he was the manager, stayed behind the counter. Never once did he apologize for us having to drive to the dealership with 3 children in tow. He was rather indignant. I was upset--never once did he try to help or listen to my complaint. He told me that he did not understand why I was upset. Clearly, I was upset that I had wasted time and money. Then, I asked for his name which he reluctantly gave to me. I then asked for the owner's name. I was told that there is no owner. I asked for the corporate headquarters address. To this, he said that he had no idea what that would be. This seemed incredulous to me. Then he revealed that he was a visiting sales manager, whatever that is. Lo and behold, the general manager, Jason Thompson, was sitting next to him. However, I had to ask for his name 3 times before he decided to give it to me. I am not sure that he really was Jason Thompson; I hope for your sake that he was not and just lied to me. They both informed me that it would do absolutely no good to get their names and make a complaint because there was no one who would listen or care. Interesting to me..is that true? Do you not care about customers? In this economy--do you really want to alienate customers who are relatively young with children who will need cars? This dealership needs some customer service training. Had they come out from behind the counter and listened to my complaint and truly apologized for not being able to deliver the vehicle that I wanted, I would not have been happy but I would not be frustrated, mad, upset, etc. The slogan at the bottom of the page is "The Power to Surprise"--please, surprise me. Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised $7900 Kia Rio - I called and specifically asked Jason if they had any of these on the lot avail Worst experience I have ever had. #1. Advertised $7900 Kia Rio - I called and specifically asked Jason if they had any of these on the lot available for purchase if I came in immediately; he responded that there were 4. After hours of bickering and trying to get me to buy other cars - with absolutely NO reduction over the sticker price; I said that I just wanted to buy the $7900 Rio with no AC, there were some on the lot, but they weren't available (notice I ASKED SPECIFICALLY as I have run into the gotcha deals before). Well, there were NONE available according to the staff. I asked to speak to Jason who had lied to me, they wouldn't get him. I asked to speak to a manager, and he said "I don't know why he would tell you that" - but would not get Jason for me to speak to directly. I immediately walked out. #2. Marcus called back and said he had called around and found one person who would wait for another. Then he asked me what color I would like. I believe those ads are purely gimmicks and they do anything to prevent you from buying those available because they don't make money. I read another review where the person was told that the price $7900 was only for military. #3. They also had a used Honda Civic on the site. We purchased that car. After picking it up a day later, they then called and said they needed to do emissions testing. Meanwhile we noticed that the new tires were badly out of balance. I had a salesman say they would take care of that while it was in, but they then called and said the purchase was "as is" and they would charge me. Now I am afraid that all of the "safety checks" they have done weren't really. I'm sorry, but new tires not balanced??? #4. Would NEVER go there for service, drive to get a time online, and speaking to reps; booked out for weeks in advance. I'm sticking with Honda and Honda dealers. Do not shop here. Do not believe anything they say; hey don't even believe published ads. Apparently, no matter what the salesmen say or do, it is perfectly okay. More
I have had only positive experiences when i have been at capitol kia. All of the salesman are incredibly helpful, and courtieous. I do not know why people are writing all these bad reviews.
