A Simple Oil Change??? Came in for service updates on my 2012 Optima SX. There was 1 for the radio and 1 for the engine. I told them to update the radio only and the service manager noted it and talked me into an oil change at regular price. (Said there where no specials at this time) I'm really meticulous about my car and didn't want any oil spills. Don assured me that everything would be okay so I agreed. I get home and park my car in the driveway and come out the leave 30 minutes later to see oil dripping from the underbody panel onto the driveway. Called Don, he apologized and said to bring it back to get cleaned up and he'll get me a free oil change in the future. Brought it back to find oil spilled from the top of the block, down the side, and dripping from the underbody panel. I was irate! All they did was wipe the oil with towels leaving an oily film that attracts dust an dirt. Never did get the free oil change though I probably wouldn't let them do it anyways. After that service, I noticed on the FWY when I go WOT, the turbo doesn't kick in as hard as it did before. I questioned Don, and he said they didn't do anything that would affect the car's performance but I do wonder... More
Kia of Alhambra = Incompetence We leased a Kia Optima (not from Kia of Alhambra) in 2012. We got it serviced at Kia of Alhambra because that is the closest Kia dealership. Nearly ev We leased a Kia Optima (not from Kia of Alhambra) in 2012. We got it serviced at Kia of Alhambra because that is the closest Kia dealership. Nearly every time we took it in something wasn't done right. Once we even found a burger wrapper and empty Coke can in our car left by an employee. Our lease ended in 2015 and we returned the car. Since then, we keep getting mailers from Kia of Alhambra saying they want to buy our Optima. I have called the dealership twice asking them to stop, both times I was told they'd take care of the problem. Then, just a few days ago another such mailer arrived, this time in an ominously labeled envelope bearing the words "FINAL NOTICE". What a cheap and dirty trick to get us to open it. The first line in the letter from general manager Gil Hayes was, "Our records indicate you lave less than 14 payments left on your current lease with a monthly payment of $XXX. Kia of Alhambra would like to take in your current leased vehicle early regardless of make or model." So, they're not fixing the problem at all, it's only getting worse. Do those clowns really think this helps get them more business? My recourse is social media and contacting Kia's corporate offices to lodge a complaint, both of which I will do. More
