Needed to bring my Sportage in for a " free, antitheft, software upgrade." I left the vehicle in the bay and went and sat down in the waiting room. A few minutes went by and the service man (Jim) came in a software upgrade." I left the vehicle in the bay and went and sat down in the waiting room. A few minutes went by and the service man (Jim) came in and informed me that the vehicle's shift was giving them issues. Long story short, I was informed that the body control module was defective. After a diagnosis it would cost $785 to repair. I was able to drive the vehicle home after overriding the locked shift. When I returned home, I reread my invoice, and Jim had written "customer states the car will not come out of park." I called back and told him I never said that, and he informed me that this was a standard comment left on an invoice. Quite fishy if you ask me. Long story short, I now have to have my BCM replaced. I asked that same servicemen if the upgrade could have caused any issues with that module, and he stated no. Quite frankly, I can't prove anything happened at this dealership, but I find it highly suspect. I drove in with a perfectly fine vehicle, and came home with a vehicle that now needs a costly repair. Quite frankly, I'm pretty disappointed with this service department and it's integrity. More

This was our fourth visit to this location in as many months. My first two visits with my son we meandered around the lot for 45 or so minutes and even waited in the lobby for someone to help us and were months. My first two visits with my son we meandered around the lot for 45 or so minutes and even waited in the lobby for someone to help us and were never greeted or given the time of day. The third time I sent my son as we wanted to inquire on the value of my trade in (as I figured I would just handle the process online to get help.) and the person who finally acknowledged him told him he was better off going to Carmax as he couldn’t help him and insisting he was wasting his time. Ive purchased four other cars from this dealership in the past. We did in fact go to Carmax and received a quote but being a loyal Kia owner, I went back to Delray Kia again this afternoon. This time we were greeted by the same man who turned my son away and he was eager, nervously it seemed, to assist me. I told him my budget As well as feature requirements. He quickly showed me to a telluride that was aesthetically pleasing with all of the bells and whistles, but was easily $15,000 over my target price range as well as definitely over the gas consumption that I was looking for and nowhere near the payment bracket that I told him I was looking at. He even took us inside to look at a hybrid model Sorrento, that was the lux version again ignoring some of the key points that I had made. It also ended up that the vehicle was not a hybrid and when I looked at the form he had me sign for the payment options he had run my credit for a vehicle that did not have a feature that was a mandatory requirement. This salesman is severely undereducated about meeting client needs and honestly seemed to profile my family in a way that felt like we were purposely being driven off the lot as a waste of time. He never properly investigated the available vehicles or helped us find the right one for our needs and instead pushed maxed out new 2023 vehicles when I was asking for used or demo vehicles. Additionally when he asked me to sign a form that didn’t make sense to me he was verbally nasty to me and when I told him I didn’t want to sign a form agreeing to payment terms that were not backed by a bank approval after already signing a credit application without a proper explanation of why this needed to be done he said “I guess we will just change all the rules just for you!” He was flippant and aggressive more than once and both him and the finance manager reminded us that they had already closed and if I was interested in really buying a car I would need to sign a form. When asking the finance manager to explain it, which he did, I felt more comfortable but when I had asked what it was for previously I was met with this is how we do business basically shut up and sign. I’m sorry but I see a grey car listed on a piece of paper when I am looking at a blue one and a payment that is 12-24 months longer than anything I am comfortable with and a monthly payment that is close to double what I was looking for- I am going to have questions. I was also clear with the finance manager that due to my identity being stolen I did not want him to approach certain banks. He said he would run my credit for 2 tops 3 banks. He came back with rejections from banks we didn’t discuss. Then he said he couldn’t get the deal done but he would call around on Tuesday after the holiday to see if he could pull some strings. Today was Saturday. I am sure people are purchasing vehicles on the weekends but I do appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond. It was only at this point was I able to say that we had intended to put a considerable down payment down. Only at that point did the salesman provide me with this contact card and shake my hand and look pleasant to work with. With his absolute lack of professionalism and ability to research inventory or quote me the correct vehicle I wouldn’t feel confident working with Jason Malkhasian ever again and personally think he is a liability to the company.
