I visited Kia of Delray for servicing on 23 Jan. ’25 because my engine was running rough when first started up in the mornings. The routine synthetic oil and tire rotation service there had in the ’25 because my engine was running rough when first started up in the mornings. The routine synthetic oil and tire rotation service there had in the past been reasonably priced, about $50 after the salesman would voluntarily pull a coupon and apply it. The only issues were the delay in scheduling service and waiting up to 3 hours. On 3 occasions I required warranty service (stuck shift lock, mysterious front-end noise, door handle fell off). In all cases parts needed to be delivered before the vehicle could be serviced, once me with a large rental bill. Today, after refusing several purchases available for less elsewhere ( (wipers, air filters, brakes) I was billed $100 for the usual maintenance and $300 for injection system cleaning. The dealership did not offer a coupon, hit me with an unexpected $25 “shop charge”, then a 3% credit charge, resulting in an $87 higher charge than under their previous customer-friendly charging policy. I lowered it by $62 after finding an on-line coupon and paying cash, but was aggravated about the extra charge and the hassle. For the record, my complaint involves dealership policy, not their representative, Cody, who served me and works in a system he did not create. In the future I will go elsewhere. More
