Good experience and good value I have bought 3 cars from Key Used Cars over the last 10 years and always had a good experience. I read some of the other reviews which were negative I have bought 3 cars from Key Used Cars over the last 10 years and always had a good experience. I read some of the other reviews which were negative and I could not help but wonder if the other people writing reviews knew they were buying a used car. Used cars have things go wrong with them all the time. I have had things break on my cars and eventually get repaired, but I did not blame Key Used Cars. I am a value shopper and Key Used Cars always seems to have the best pricing and so I buy from them. I have bought really cheap cars for less than $2000 and have had issues that a $2000 car would have. I also bought a car for over $7000 from Key and it had very few issues. I think it just depends on the car and your budget. My experience has always been positive and I have referred a lot of friends and family to their car lot. I definitely recommend the company and will continue referring my friends and family. It is clearly a small family run business. Some people like the charm that provides and others don't. For me, I really like walking in and they remember me and I know that my business really matters to them. I like supporting quality local businesses and I think Key Used Cars is one of them. More
Scammed. Charles will lie. He will cheat and will do anything to close the deal. Then he will make you feel bad for questions his sub par work. Bought a honda accord that he replaced the transmission o anything to close the deal. Then he will make you feel bad for questions his sub par work. Bought a honda accord that he replaced the transmission on and a week after we had the car the ball joint fell out. After a closer inspection to see what needed to be repaired it turns out he didn't use 1 single cotter pin on the entire suspension. The timing belt replacement he promised us was never done either after a closer inspection of components. All he did was write with a paint market on the inner fender that it was done. Lies lies lies. Cheats cheats cheats. And to too it all off he said sorry. Your xxxx out of luck because we are a ways away from their location and the tow would be too much. STAY AWAY More
Purchased a car back in November of 2012, two weeks into owning the car the heat stopped working so I contacted Keys about the warranty that they had offered on my car. Charles told me to bring in the car a owning the car the heat stopped working so I contacted Keys about the warranty that they had offered on my car. Charles told me to bring in the car and they would take a look at it, brought it up on a saturday for them to look at it and they diagnose the issue as a bad thermostat and replaced it the same day, 30 minutes into my hour and a half drive home the car started to overheat and smoke, I was able to limp the car back to the dealership. It was too late in the day to do anything so they gave me a loaner car and I went on my way. A couple days later I get a call saying my thermostat housing was leaking and that was the cause of the overheating and they had fixed it and I could come back and pick up my car. Drove out there again and got my car, a day later the heat did not work, gave Charles a call again and told him the heat issue was back, again he told me to bring the car back in and they would take a look at it. Both Charles and Tom said it was looking like the water pump was on it's way out and they would replace this under their warranty. Bring the car back for the third time and they did the waterpump (along with the timing belt after arguing with them that it should be replaced if they were going to do a waterpump on a D17, it would be off anyways). I got another loaner car and the car was left up north for a couple more days, Tom agreed to have one of his guys drive my car down about half way to save me the travel time. A couple days later again the heat stopped working, Tom was becoming less cooperative with the whole thing so I had my shop check out the issue, they had diagnosed the issue to be a bad headgasket and it needed to be replaced. I gave Charles a call and told him what my shop had found and he said he would talk to Tom about repair, the next day I called to touch base with them and see when I could drop off the car to have it repaired, I got "I still have to decide if I want to fix it or not" response from Tom. With more auguring I finally got them to agree to repair of the headgasket but they wanted me to pay for the parts for the repair, so for the fourth time I drop off the car for the head gasket replacement and I get another loaner car from them. A couple days later I get a call from Charles saying that my car is ready and the heat issue is gone, on my way up to Keys the shock on the loaner car separated from the top hat on the highway, I was able to get over into the shoulder and I gave Charles a call, he told me that I had to wait until monday before they could tow the car and I had to get it to a secure location if I wanted my car back. I ended up paying 330 dollars for a tow for their loaner car to be returned to their dealership, they would not reimburse me for this cost. I had my car back and the heat was working great after having them do work on it four times, by now my title had shown up and I noticed that both my name and address was wrong on the title, again I gave Charles a call and he said he would look into it. After getting the run around with them for three weeks I finally got a response from Tom - "The name and address on the title is the same as the one on our paperwork that we sent into the state and because you did not double check it I will not pay for a new title". When I purchased the car from Keys I had given the sales woman my drivers license for her to copy my information, Tom had a weak excuse for why he didn't want to spend any more money. After driving over 500 miles in total to get my car fixed, 350 for a tow and 100 to fix my title I would not send anyone to Keys Used Autos, Charles is very helpful and wants to do the right things to keep customers happy but he is limited by Tom wanting to take shortcuts and take the cheapest way out. The first experience we had at this dealer was so good, the dealer was friendly, not pushy wonderful to work with, the prices were outstanding, also they have a guarantee which most used car places don't h the dealer was friendly, not pushy wonderful to work with, the prices were outstanding, also they have a guarantee which most used car places don't have. We had a small problem with two of the cars we bought their, they were fixed right there by their mechanic, very happy with the service. We have bought 3 cars from them and have not had any problems with them. We recommed them to anyone looking for a used car, right now my daughters boyfriend is looking online for one. Would not go anywhere else to buy a car. Love this place! More

I bought a used Ford Windstar from Key used cars in Ringwood in December of 2007. I got a great deal on a great vehicle. A year later I needed some maintance on it for a rear wiper problem. It turne Ringwood in December of 2007. I got a great deal on a great vehicle. A year later I needed some maintance on it for a rear wiper problem. It turned out to be an electrical problem that took many hours to find and repair. The car had to be somewhat dismantled to expose the wiring harnesses to find the problem. The mechanic whose name is Chris did a remarkable job of tracing and fixing the problem which was a melted wiring harness. He found one in nearby Fox Lake and gave me a discounted rate on the bill. Also the owner Tom is a man who stands behind what he sells along with a wonderful sales staff. Sadly, on Saturday night my Windstar was totalled in a head on collision. I intend to go to Key used cars first to see what they have on in stock that is within my price range. I would highly recommend Key Used cars as a great used car dealership.
