The service is friendly, but the service is crap and I don't plan on returning. More

We decided to do a fr I called ahead to schedule an appointment for a newly purchased used vehicle, and spoke with the rep about any suspected issues. We decided to do a free inspection to see if any maintenance issues were outstanding, and then possibly move onto a diagnostic. The day of my appointment, I checked in with a guy named Brandon, and he only mentioned the diagnostic. I had to re-explain to him that I wanted to do the inspection first and then possibly a diagnostic. He became less pleasant and sent me over to express. Express guy was nice, answered my questions and checked out my car. Results came back fairly standard, some tires were getting low, brakes are getting low, and a few leaks. He upsold me on a new rear wiper and license plate light. After that I said I wanted to move to the diagnostic, and he started talking about how he'd have to "see" if they can get me in today, or if I would need to schedule another appointment. I was confused, because I already called ahead and scheduled an appointment. What need was there to re-schedule something I had already scheduled time for? That's when things went downhill and Brandon returned with an "Ok, kid, here's what we need to do -" I'm a 30 year old adult. After a day of diagnostics, Brandon came back that all my tires were bad, brakes were bad and had a few more leaks, and should definitely get those fixed immediately. I asked him how the diagnostic and express people could get different results from doing similar inspections. He proceeded to explain to me how tire tread works and wears down. I proceeded to pay for those "services" and take my car elsewhere for repairs. I don't need some xxxxxx bag talking down to me and treating me like an idiot when it comes across like you're teams aren't consistent in their testing and that you're just trying to sell more product for your store. I was hoping to get support in servicing my car, from the service department, when all I got was a sales rep. More

The service manager said it is caused by a non-Sabaru brand replacement windshield that was installed and so he refused to work on and fix the Eyesight. He said I have to change the windshield to a Subaru brand glass first before he would work on it. Upon checking, I found this would cost over $1000. Safeco, my insurance company approved the windshield replacement, but said that I didn't tell them that I wanted a Subaru windshield, as if I was supposed to know that. They also warantee their work only if it is done at one of their approved glass shops using Safelite windshields. The Eyesight worked fine for two years after the windshield replacement, and so I don't believe the windshield is the cause of the Eyesight failure. If the Subaru service dealer would just fix the broken Eyesight, my car would be fine again. But now I have a new Subaru with no cruise control and nothing I can do about. I am sorry that I bought the car in the first place. Without a cruise control I can't even sell the car or trade it in. More
Air-bag recall service Kendall Subaru was very friendly to us and gave us a loaner car for the few hours that it took to get the air-bag swapped out for our Outback. I ha Kendall Subaru was very friendly to us and gave us a loaner car for the few hours that it took to get the air-bag swapped out for our Outback. I had read lots of negative reviews about Kendall Subaru before going there, but most of what was written didn't happen with us. We were greeted warmly and treated well by the staff despite us buying the car elsewhere. Thankfully they weren't mean or condescending, nor did they attempt to trick or deceive us. The only nit-pick was that they left the dash a little dirty, but it's not the end of the world. ;-) Overall, a very pleasant experience at Kendall Subaru. We definitely shop there for our next Subaru. More

I asked if they had time to look at it, I'd be grateful as I was from Roseburg. They sent a mechanic, Dan, as a ride a long and he diagnosed an axle was bad. I was given a loaner car (very nice) and told to come back the next day. I called the next day and asked that all the computer updates be done and if there were any problems to please phone me. I drove to the dealership and my service advisor, Brandon, asked me what I was doing there. He told me that the car was not ready as a part was on order. I was upset as I had just drove over an hour there and no one bothered to call me. Long story made short, my car had the axle replaced, the transmission replaced, front oil pump replaced, and the original recall done. I am now very leery about Subaru's in general. I was told the new transmission is only covered for approximately 25,000 miles as that is the remainder of my 100,000 warranty. I think that new transmission should be covered by the warranty for another 100,000 as the CVT transmission is a huge problem. Honestly we will probably be dumping this Subaru in the future and staying away from this brand. The work was done well and I had a rental free of charge which were both nice. More
