We purchased a 2020 Ford Expedition from Friendly Ford for a price of $64,500. History of poor transmissions in this vehicle. A number of lawsuits against Ford due to this faulty transmission. This vehicle is a safety hazard I have five kids aged 1, 4, 13, 18, and 22. My wife will not allow the kids to drive in the vehicle due to the fear of the transmission failing. We have had repeated incidents when the vehicle will hesitate when making a turn or accelerating to get onto the freeway. The product is faulty and Ford cannot fix it despite repeated attempts. Below I will outline the attempts Ford has made to unsuccessfully fix this death trap of a vehicle. • The first complaint regarding transmission issue was at 22,498 miles on Sep 7, 2021. The vehicle transmission overheated was in the red on the indicator gauge and began slipping and hesitating. Hesitation was terrible and was very dangerous on the open road. Please see repair order 461679 Ken Grody Road tested the vehicle and could not duplicate so they did nothing. • Transmission would continue to falter and hesitate in normal city driving issue not fixed • Next attempt at Ken Grody to fix is repair order 479701 32,058 miles April 5 2022 stated the vehicle shifts hard at lower gears and hesitates. In addition stated vehicle makes a loud clicking sound and is difficult to shift from park to drive, Had vehicle for 3 days. Did nothing said no codes and it is fine. • Next attempt Ken Grody Ford repair order 488075 July 6, 2022, 35,015 miles. Since they would not ever do anything about the hesitation attempted to prove the vehicle was faulty by having them listen to the car when it shifted loud pop and jarring action was not normal. Finally agreed to repair the vehicle. They reprogramed the vehicle replaced the valve body and performed a reprogramming strategy. This was Ford's first response to fix transmission reprogramming. They would reprogram and the auto-learning of transmission. This did not work car continued to hesitate and be a death trap. They had the vehicle for 14 days. • Next Attempt Repair Order 514240 50,052 Miles April 11 2023. On the way home from Vegas transmission gauge again went into the red car and began to smoke. The car was hesitant and slipped while shifting. The smoke was new this time. Ken Grody Ford found code P0218 leak top vent teardown for inspection burnt clutches and torq converter. Cylinder damage. Replaced torq converter and all clutches cleaned valve body. Of course, this did not work car still hesitating and is still a death trap. My wife is fearful for our children's lives in this vehicle. Had a vehicle for 17 days. • Next Attempt Repair Order 526509 August 16 2023 54.716 miles. Driving the vehicle to Parker Arizona transmission again started slipping and hesitating and of course, once again it overheated. Ken Grody diagnosis tear down transmission torq converter overheated (again) front was damaged had to replace the gears. Had for 24 days Of course did not work. The vehicle still hesitated and struggled to shift, I was on the freeway and semi next to me began to come in my lane I had to floor it to avoid getting in an accident and the vehicle hesitated to go. I had to swerve to shoulder to avoid the accident. Transmission is faulty and you know it I am done attempting to have you fix this car. This is a dangerous vehicle and needs to be replaced. Ford can not repair this vehicle it is a lemon. I demand my $64,500 dollars to be refunded. Despite repeated attempts at repair by Ken Grody Ford, the transmission remains defective More
Tim Prete is more than a Ken Grody service advisor but one who cares and goes above and beyond to keep me informed and updated daily on the repairs to my Lincoln Navigator transmission. Tim also informed one who cares and goes above and beyond to keep me informed and updated daily on the repairs to my Lincoln Navigator transmission. Tim also informed and helped me with enterprise rentals during the time my Navigator was being repaired. My Lincoln Navigator runs better than new and shifts seemingly going up and down hills.
